Short flights from Ireland, some of Europe’s best beaches, and some terrific restaurants, it’s not surprising the Algarve is one of our favourite holiday destinations. I found this great deal to the pretty resort of Praia do Vau. It’s ideal location offers the advantage of being a quiet resort, but within easy access to the picturesque town of Alvor and the bustling resort of Praia da Rocha. There are numerous restaurants and bars to choose from and of course it is home to some of the best beaches in the Algarve. If you like shopping, nearby Portimao offers some of the best shops in the Algarve, there are some excellent boutiques as well as H&M, Mango and even a Primark store! When you are shopped out, enjoy a drink at the impressive marina. Home to super yachts and trendy eateries, this is the perfect place to chill out and watch the world go by.

Gran Canaria – 3* Eo Club Vistaflor Apartments, €369!
For guaranteed sunshine, it is hard to beat the Canary Islands. I like the area of Maspalomas as it is close to the lively resort of Playa del Ingles and the upmarket resort of Meloneras, so it really offers the best of both worlds. Complete with five star hotels, stylish shops and trendy bars Melonares is perfect for an afternoon’s shopping or some al fresco dining. Maspalomas is also home to the magnificent sand dunes, which have been declared a nature reserve and cover some 400 hectares.
I found a great deal staying in the Eo Club Visaflor apartments. These duplex style apartments are within easy access of a wide selection of restaurants and bars in Maspalomas, receive excellent reviews on tripadvisor and attract many repeat visitors. Corfu – 4* Ariti Grand Hotel, B&B €429; Half Board €474!
Corfu is one of my favourite Greek islands. It has stunning scenery, a laid back atmosphere and amazing food! Each resort is better than the next, with many hideaways offering picture perfect cove beaches – it is an island that is just begging to be explored. The cost of living is so low, dining out is excellent value for money and the welcome you receive will have you wanting to come back for more. Fuerteventura – 3* Globales Costa Tropical, All Inclusive Basis, €479!
If you are a beach lover, you will love Fuerteventura – it’s that simple! You will find picture postcard white sandy beaches – some would say as good as the Caribbean! It is less built up than the other Canary Islands, which is also part of its charm. Expect to see plenty of wind surfers and kite boarders as well as surf shops, the island has a sporty feel to it.
