The Definitive Guide to Booking Lapland Holidays
Bringing the kids to see Santa in Lapland is a once in a life time opportunity, you only get one chance! Check out my definitive guide to booking Lapland holidays, and make sure you get it right!
Without a shadow of a doubt, Lapland was one of the best family experiences we had. We went for two nights, three years ago and it is still the most talked about trip in our house. Every Christmas the photos come out, our video is watched over and over and the kids are constantly reminding their friends how they met the ‘REAL’ Santa. People often remark on the cost and yes, I know it is expensive, but when I say you will have lifetime memories, I really mean it.
It may cost the same as a week in the sun but ask yourself, which holiday will you remember more? I am sure my children will pass on their memories to their own children, it’s not something that will be forgotten about in a few years time. Of course seeing Santa is the highlight and the reason you book it in the first place, but the winter wonderland experience is incredible too. Snowmobiling into snowy forests, husky and reindeer rides, all add to the experience. Check out my short video of our trip and you will see what I mean…
There are different Lapland holidays for different tastes. Some people may be short on annual leave and want to keep the cost down, while others may decide to blow the budget and stay for five days. I have teamed up with VisitSanta.ie, the Lapland specialists, who offer a wide selection of Lapland trips to suit all tastes and budgets. This gives you the opportunity to really immerse yourself into the winter wonderland of Lapland. Although still action packed, each activity is allocated a longer duration. You will have a full 90 minute husky and reindeer experience, deep in the snowy forest as you ‘search’ for Santa. This really is a different experience to the shorter trips because the search for Santa feels real and you don’t actually find him until the third day. Can you imagine the excitement? There are also extra snowmobile rides with dedicated children’s snowmobiles. Enjoy tabogganing, meet the Elves at home and visit Santa’s post office. Thermal clothing and all meals are included, including a Festive Gala dinner.
