It seems we have found a new found love for Ireland’s beaches, so much so that holiday homes beside the sea in Ireland are like hens teeth in July and August! With that in mind, I have compiled a list of our most popular holiday homes that are available over the Halloween break – so you can secure your holiday home in plenty of time.
All properties are highly recommended from previous guests – so you should receive a warm welcome and great service. Most of the holiday homes beside the sea in Ireland are fully booked during the summer months, so if you fancy a staycation over the October mid term break, I suggest you book one now to avoid disappointment.

1. Beachcombers Cottage, Killybegs, Donegal: €99 per night
Beachcombers Cottage is a modern two-bedroom house located beside the fabulous Fintra Beach in Donegal. The fireplace and a modern 50-inch TV with Netflix, are perfect companions if you fancy cosy nights in, or the town of Killybegs is just 3km away if you want to venture out. If you like hiking, Ireland’s tallest sea cliffs, the Slieve League Sea Cliffs, are just a 20 minute drive away.

2. Ballinglanna, Four-Bedroom Home, West Cork: €105 per night
This large holiday home beside the sea in Ireland is situated at the end of a cul-de-sac of holiday homes, with no passing traffic to block those stunning Atlantic views. The charming seaside town of Clonakilty is just 11km away, and with West Cork and the Wild Atlantic Way on your doorstep, the possibilities for day trips are endless.
3. Seal Rock, Two-Bedroom Designer Stone Cottage, Co. Kerry: €275 per night
Seal Rock Cottage is a stunning holiday home beside the sea in Rossmore Island, Kerry. It is situated on an acre and is connected to the Ring of Kerry by an ancient stone bridge.
It is clear from the stylish decor and furnishings that the home was designed by a professional interior designer, but the exterior is impressive too. The landscaped gardens retain many of the natural features including a stream and mini-waterfalls, and there is an ocean-side terrace and private beach to enjoy. Note: children under 12 are not accepted.
4. Shorehaven, 3-bedroom home, Quilty, Clare: €160 per night
Located just 500 meters from the village of Quilty, and a stone’s throw from the Atlantic Ocean, this is a superb holiday home to explore the beaches and villages of Clare and the Wild Atlantic Way. However, with views like this, you may not want to leave.
5. Browns Cottage, Annestown Beach, Waterford: €75 per night

Browns cottage is located on the gorgeous Copper Coast in Waterford, a place I had the pleasure of visiting a few years ago. With Annestown Beach just 200 metres away, and the Comeragh mountains and the Waterford Greenway close by, you will be spoilt for choice with the many great attractions in Waterford.

6. On the beach in Enniscrone, Sligo: €240 per night
This three-bedroom beach house offers panoramic views of the beach, and the sun sets right in front of the living room. Located in heart of Enniscrone, with direct access to the beach, this must be one of the most popular holiday homes beside the sea in Ireland. The house is very well equipped, with two bikes, a surf board, body boards, spades and buckets and a fishing rod are also supplied.
7. Achill Atlantic House, Mayo: €140 per night
You only have to look at the image above to see the unobstructed views that lay in store if you stay at the three-bedroom Achill Atlantic House in Mayo. You will also have private access to Cloughmore Beach, which is just 50 meters away, Achill’s Atlantic Drive is just five minutes walk from the house and you can find your own ‘catch of the day’ at the local harbour.

8. Inch Beach, three-bedroom cottages, Kerry: €110 per night
Inch beach is arguably one of the best locations if you are looking for holiday homes beside the sea in Ireland. There are a selection of homes available, but I found two that are offer stunning views over this amazing beach and are just a short drive from Dingle town.

9. The Coach House, Apartments with private sea access, Westport, Mayo: €160 per night
This unique Coach House has two luxurious two bedroom apartments that can be rented together or separately. With panoramic views over Clew Bay and Croagh Patrick, as well as private sea access, these are the holy grail of apartments on the Wild Atlantic Way.
The original stone coachhouse is beautifully furnished and both apartments can sleep up to six people. Guests have their own private access to the shore, and with an outhouse available for storage, it is an ideal choice if you wish to bring kayaks, SUP boards and wetsuits.

10. Restored Cottage with views of Skelligs, Kerry: €104 per night
This three-bedroom cottage is located in Ballinskelligs and offers stunning views of the Skellig Islands. With the Ring of Kerry and a choice of beaches close by, this is a super choice to explore the south west coast of Ireland.
11. Water’s Edge, 3-bedroom Cottage, Clifden, Galway: €143 per night
This spacious ocean-front cottage is beautifully situated with views to Omey Island to the west, and the Twelve Bens of Connemara to the east. It offers all the benefits of a peaceful location with amazing sunsets from its sun room, but also has the advantage of being just fifteen minutes from the vibrant town of Clifden,
12. Blue Stonecutters, One-Bedroom Cottage, Lahinch, Co. Clare: €140 per night
This delightful 100-year-old cottage has been beautifully restored, with many original features including beams, recessed windows and period furnishings. It boasts stunning views of the Wild Atlantic Way, and the villages of Doolin, Lahinch, and Liscannor villages are all close by.
This is an Airbnb ‘Plus’ home, meaning you will find a home that is full of character with one-of-a-kind details, exceptional hospitality, fully equipped kitchens and fast WiFi.
13. Dugort Cliff Edge, 2-bedroom cottage, Mayo: €65 per night
Perched on the edge of a cliff, this two-bedroom cosy cottage overlooks the Blue Flag Dugort beach in Achill Island. If you are looking for a seaside retreat in a traditional Irish cottage, I think I have found it.

14. The Bridge House, Fanore, Clare: €197 per night

There four-bedroom home is a super choice to explore Clare and the Wild Atlantic Way. With stunning sea views, as well as the beach and the village of Fanore close by, this holiday home ticks all boxes.
15. 4-Star Seaside Cottage Near Causeway Coast, Northern Ireland: €104 per night
This stylish cottage is located directly across the road from Downhill Beach and offers sea views from both floors. It is just 1km from Mussenden Temple, 2km from the famous Whiterocks Beach and the Causeway Coast’s top attractions are all close by.

16. Four-bedroom Home in Connemara, Galway: €125 per night
This large Airbnb on the Wild Atlantic Way is an old building that has been converted into a four-bedroom home, and offers a large garden, a wood burning stove and superb sea views. Located on the edge of Spiddal Village in Connemara, yet only 30 minutes from Galway city, it offers the best of both worlds.
17. Five-bedroom log cabin, Kinsale, Cork: €500 per night
This five-bedroom log cabin offers superb sea views and is located just ten minutes drive from Kinsale. This holiday home beside the sea will house up to 11 guests, so it is ideal for an extended family or group of friends. There is a large garden, a balcony with views towards the Old Head of Kinsale, an office and a home gym.
There is a small beach at the end of the road which is ideal for canoeing, and there are plenty of sandy beaches a short drive away.

18. The Pier House, 2-bedroom cottage, Loop Head, Clare: €235 per night
Pier House is arguably ‘the nearest house to New York’, so if are looking Airbnbs on the Wild Atlantic Way, it doesn’t get much wilder than this! With its own beach, rock pools and a garden, it is an ideal house for families. There is a playground and pub / restaurant just 150 metres away, and it is located beside the harbour so a fishing trip is a must.
The lounge has panoramic views across the bay and the open fire creates a cosy atmosphere. Its eclectic design has ceilings resembling an upturned boat, floors with ancient slate flags, a high-pitched ceiling with fisherman lantern lights, and two vintage leather club chairs that look like the perfect place to relax.
Did I mention the garden is purposely left wild with meadow flowers? – This place is now going on my own wish list!
19. Luxury detached home with sea-view, Dungarvan, Waterford: €285 per night
Dungarvan is an upmarket town with a great food scene, and this luxury detached house is a great place to stay if you want to explore it. Located beside Abbeyside Beach and just minutes from the Waterford Greenway, it offers the best of both worlds.
It is a large home complete with four bedrooms, two large sitting rooms and a library. The master bedroom has a large walk in wardrobe – you may not want to leave!

20. Award Winning Designed Home with Ocean Views, Enniscrone, Sligo: €470 per night
This modern award-winning four-bedroomed house offers stunning views of the Atlantic, with a road that leads down to a great sea swimming spot. It is just three minutes from Dromore West which has a pub, cafe and Chinese take-away, while the seaside town of Enniscrone and its stunning white sandy beach, are just 17 minutes away.
