If you are planning some family staycations over the October mid term break, you better act fast! I understand that some of you are looking for cheap hotel deals, others might want a bit of luxury, and many are looking for self catering accommodation with hotel facilities. I have tried to cater for everyone and have plenty of variety below.
All family staycations are based on a three-night family stay, but if you want to stay for longer, or just want an overnight escape, simply click on the links below and edit the search dates accordingly.

1. Treacy’s Oakwood Hotel, Clare, Family Room: €522
Located close to Bunratty Castle and within easy access of the Cliffs of Moher and the Wild Atlantic Way, this is a great choice for families looking to explore Clare’s gorgeous coastline.

The 3-Star Parkavon Hotel is ideally perfectly located within walking distance of Killarney town centre and Killarney National Park. It also boasts a leisure centre which should keep the kids happy. This is great value for a family stay in Killarney.
3. Maldron Hotel Sandy Road, Galway, Family Room €437
The Maldron Hotel is a family-friendly hotel located less than 15 minutes walk from Galway city. Children are treated like VIPs and have a separate check-in with a welcome gift on arrival, as well as child-friendly menus throughout the hotel. With Connemara and The Wild Atlantic Way on your doorstep, this is a great choice for families looking to explore the surrounding area.
4. Quilty Holiday Cottages, Clare: 3 bedroom home (6) €582
The traditional Quilty Holiday Cottages are located on Clare’s coast and offer panoramic views on the Atlantic Ocean. Imagine walking the Cliffs of Moher, and returning to an open fire in your cottage – bliss! These three-bedroom homes sleep up to six and offer complimentary access to the indoor swimming pool and tennis courts.

5. Bella Vista Hotel, Cork: Family Room €540

6. Bunratty Holiday Homes, Clare, 3-bedroom house €504
Set in the village of Bunratty, these spacious three-bedroomed homes have bright modern interiors, and a patio area. The village has a host of craft shops and restaurants, with Bunratty Castle and Folk Park just 200 metres away. The coast is just 15 minutes away, and the beaches at Lahinch or Kilkee are an hour’s drive away.

10. Clayton Hotel Limerick: Family Room €500
With the opportunities to explore Limerick, Kerry and Clare all on your doorstep, as well as a leisure centre with a 12 metre pool, this hotel is the perfect choice for a family staycation over the Halloween break.
