Family staycations have never been so popular. I’ve hand-picked 3, 4 and 5-star family friendly Irish hotel deals over the Halloween break to suit all tastes and budgets.
If you are thinking about family staycations over the October mid term break, now is the time to book to secure the best deal. Most hotels offer free cancellation, so you can always change your mind at a later date, but at least you have secured something now, for what is always peak family holiday time. I understand that some of you are looking for cheap hotel deals, others might want a bit of luxury, and many are looking for houses for larger families. I have tried to cater for everyone and have some three, four and five-star options below.
All family staycations are based on a three-night family stay, some hotel rooms sleep up to four, while others up to five or six. Dates and durations can be changed to suit your requirements, simply click on the links below and edit the search dates accordingly.

3-Star hotels for family staycations
1. Bunratty Manor Hotel, Limerick: Deluxe Room: €315
The 20-room Bunratty Manor Hotel receives outstanding reviews from repeat guests and is a Travellers Choice winner on Tripadvisor. Located just five minutes walk from Bunratty Castle and the Folk Park, and within an hours drive of the Cliffs of Moher and The Burren, the location is ideal for exploring the Wild Atlantic Way.
The deluxe family rooms are spacious and have tea / coffee making facilities and free WiFi. Enjoy a tasty meal in the Bunratty Manor Restaurant or venture across to Bunratty Village which as a selection of restaurants to choose from.
2. Claregalway Hotel, Galway: Family Room for 5: €352
Located just 20 minutes from Galway City, within easy access to the Wild Atlantic Way, and with a leisure centre onsite, this is superb value for a family of five.
3. Parkavon Hotel, Killarney, Family Room: €297The Parkavon Hotel is ideally perfectly located within walking distance of Killarney town centre and Killarney National Park. It also boasts a leisure centre which should keep the kids happy, and is superb value for a family stay in Killarney over the Halloween break.
4. Springhill Court Hotel Co.Kilkenny: Family Room B&B: €502
The newly refurbished Springhill Court Hotel Kilkenny is very popular with families, thanks to the swimming pool with separate kids pool, kids club, and family friendly dining options. This super deal includes breakfast and free cancellation too. I visited Kilkenny this summer and loved it – there are so many things to do in Kilkenny with kids.

5. Hotel Woodstock, Co. Clare: Family Room for 4: €333
The Hotel Woodstock is very popular with family staycations and is an ideal choice for a getaway over the mid term break. There is a leisure centre with swimming pool on site, and the family rooms have tea and coffee making facilities. Located in Ennis, Co. Clare, with the Cliffs of Moher and Clare’s beaches just a short drive away, the possibilities for day trips are endless!

6. Montenotte Hotel, Cork: Family Room €600
I have heard so many great things about the Montenotte Hotel, which has been recently refurbished and and offers stunning views of Cork city. With a state of the art leisure centre, an in-house cinema and this cosy outdoor terrace, it is one of the most popular places to stay in Cork.
7. Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel Killiney, Dublin: Family Room for 4: €466
Matt Damon may have left Killiney, but he certainly shined a spotlight on this pretty Dublin village, and a stay in the 4-star Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel is the perfect way to discover it. Overlooking Dublin Bay, you can choose to relax and enjoy its scenic location, or take the short train ride to Dublin city – this luxury hotel offers the best of both worlds.

8. Sligo Park Hotel & Leisure Club: €427 B&B With 1 Evening Meal
Price of €427 includes a two-night stay with breakfast, and one three-course evening meal for two adults and two children on the evening of your choice. 9. Shearwater Hotel, Galway: Family Suite, €379 B&B With 1 evening meal
Recently refurbished, this popular Galway hotel boasts an elegant interior with a luxurious lobby, a 20-meter swimming pool, an awarding-winning spa. Children will receive a kids pack on arrival and this super deal includes on evening meal for adults in the Canal Bar, children’s meals are included from the kids menu in the kids zone area.
There are lots of spooky activities planned over the Halloween break including pumpkin carving, decoration making, and candy apples. 5-Star Druids Glen Resort, Wicklow: Deluxe Family Room, 3 Nights, €760
We were fortunate to stay in the luxurious Druids Glen Hotel last year and loved it. The grounds, the pool, and the close proximity to Dublin made it a perfect getaway break for us. 11. Intercontinental Hotel, Dublin, Family Room €812
The Intercontinental is one of Dublin’s best 5-Star Resort hotels. Located in the upmarket neighbourhood of Ballsbridge, and within walking distance of the city centre, the location is ideal for a family staycation. The Wellness area with the award winning ESPA is the perfect place to relax, and children will love the 14 meter pool and its proximity to Dublin’s top attractions.

12. Schull Harbour Hotel & Leisure Centre, 2 bedroom Apartment: €800
Located in West Cork, overlooking Schull Harbour, this hotel is superbly located to explore Cork’s coastal towns. Close to Mizen Head, and the beaches of Barleycove and Inchydoney, as well as the pretty towns of Baltimore and Glandore, you will be spoilt for choice if you like exploring. You will also have access to a leisure centre with a 16 metre swimming pool, sauna and steam room and there are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants close by.
13. Talbot Suites at Stonebridge, Wexford: 2 bedroom, sleeps up to 4: €540
Rated number 1 on TripAdvisor the luxurious Talbot Suites at Stonebridge is a super choice for families looking for large modern apartments in the heart of Wexford Town. Guests have access to the swimming pool and Talbot Quay Leisure Centre and the facilities of the Talbot Hotel Wexford. Larger apartments that sleep six and seven are also available.
14. Skellig Cottages, Co. Kerry: 3 bedroom, sleeps up to 6: €420
These charming holiday homes are located just a mile from the Blue Flag Ballinskelligs beach and close all the attractions that the Ring of Kerry has to offer. 15. Hookless Holiday Homes, Co. Wexford, 3 Bedroom, Sleeps up to 6: €373
Located on the Hook Peninsula, the beauty of these holiday homes is that they are close to Waterford as they are to Wexford. Kids will love the playground on site as well as visiting Hook Lighthouse and the many beaches that are close by. If you fancy extending your stay, and travelling a bit further afield, the Waterford Greenway is about an hours drive away.
