So why choose a family break at the Midlands Park Hotel?

Midlands Park Hotel

As well as offering superb value, the Midlands Park Hotel has earned itself the reputation of being one of the best hotels in Laois – it is rated number 1 on TripAdvisor. It’s stylish decor is both modern and elegant, there are a host of amenities onsite, and its location is ideal for exploring Laois, Kilkenny and Kildare.

In case you still need convincing I have highlighted some of the key facilities below:

1. There is an award-winning Leisure Centre onsite:

Midlands Park Hotel swimming pool

The Midlands Park Hotel’s Leisure Centre boasts a 22 metre swimming pool with hydrotherapy features, such as an Over Head Curtain, Volcano Jets, Umbrella and Martini Seat. There is separate kiddies pool, as well as a sauna, steam room, two jacuzzi hot tubs, and a fully equipped fitness suite.

2. There is a choice of dining options available:

There is a great choice of dining options available at the Midlands Park Hotel, including the award-winning Kelly’s Steakhouse, the casual Charter Bar & Eatery, and Triog Restaurant – all of which offer extensive children’s menus. The family breaks include a 4-course meal at either Charter Bar & Eatery or Triog Restaurant, or an allowance towards dinner at Kelly’s Steakhouse.

I suggest availing of the evening meal that is included in your stay, and then booking Kelly’s Steakhouse for the following evening! Kelly’s Steakhouse is one of the best restaurants in Portlaoise, and serves only the finest cuts of meat in contemporary surroundings. As well as succulent steaks, you will find Ranch Burgers, Fajitas and lots more.

3. There is a Kids Club on site and many family attractions close by.

Irish National Stud

Enjoy a date night and let the kids have some fun in the supervised Kids Club. It is open from 5pm-9.30pm during school holidays and is accessible for children aged 5 – 12 years. It offers a host of fun activities including drama, treasure hunts, high tea and movies. Children’s meals can be served in the kids club too!

This super deal also includes a family activity pass to one of the many nearby attractions. Choose from a visit to the Japanese Gardens and Irish National Stud, a family pass to Birr Castle, Lullymore Heritage Park, or an hour’s bowling for up to six people at the Roll and Bowl Centre in Portlaoise.

Castlecomer Discovery Park is one of the top things to do in Kilkenny with kids

There are many other family-friendly attractions close by too, including Kildare Maze, Emo Court & Gardens, and Castlecomer Discovery Park, which is home to Ireland’s longest zip line and a host of other amenities – we visited last year and had a blast!

Rock of Dunamase, Laois

If you prefer to explore the local countryside, why not rent bikes and cycle along the ancient towpath at the Grand Canal and River Barrow, or relax on a barge with Barrowline Cruisers. Laois’ top attraction, The Rock of Dunamase is a must visit, and offers stunning views of the countryside.

4. There is a choice of family rooms available:
