Summer 2020 Family Holiday Deals – Self Catering
Turkey: 4* Club Aida – Selected rooms can hold up to 6
The Club Aida are located in one of my favourite Turkish resorts, Marmaris. With a modern marina, a pretty old town and some great nightlife, Marmaris has got it all. The Club Aida are one of the most popular complexes in the resort, just check out the reviews on tripadvisor and you will see what I mean!
Although just five minutes from the beach, you may find it difficult to leave it’s massive swimming pool! Kids will love the children’s pool too, which comes with water slides. There is a kids club and plenty of activities available during the day, as well as a mini disco and live shows in the evening time. If you fancy some quiet time, indulge in the spa which has a Turkish bath!
Algarve: 4* Cerro Mar Garden – Selected rooms can hold up to 6
One of my favourite destinations for family holidays, the Algarve, offers superb beaches, mouth watering food and great value for money in the resorts. The Cerro Mar Garden aparthotel is located in the lively resort of Albufeira. This is an excellent choice for families looking for good quality self-catering accommodation, with a great selection of shops, bars and restaurants close by. Highly rated on tripadvisor, there are some great on-site facilities including a spa, gym and whirlpool. Kids will love the bowling alley, games room and large swimming pool, and there is a separate splash zone for little ones too.
Tenerife: 3* Parque Santiago – Selected rooms can hold up to 6
A firm favourite for many years, the Parque Santiago in Tenerife is sure to please everyone. There are two complexes side by side and you can enjoy the facilities of both. There are two huge swimming pools plus a splash zone for kids with six waterslides. You will be spoilt for choice in the evening with five restaurants to choose from and a nightly entertainment programme. It is situated right next to the beach and just a short drive to one of the world’s best water parks, Siam Park.
Summer 2020 Family Holiday Deals – Half Board
Majorca: 4* + Protur Bonaire Aparthotel
This is one of the best family apartments in Majorca. We spent a week here a few years ago and the kids loved it. It is located just a few minutes from the beach and the centre of Cala Bona, where there is an ample choice of restaurants and bars. If you want to venture further afield, the larger resort of Cala Millor is about a thirty minute walk.
You don’t need to venture outside the resort though as the facilities on-site are excellent. There is a children’s splash park with a giant pirate ship and there is day and night time entertainment, including a mini-disco in the evening. Kids are spoilt for choice with kids clubs and a multi-sports court, there is also a crèche for children under 3 years. You can choose to go self-catering, half-board or All-Inclusive. This price is based on half board, which includes breakfast and evening meal each day. Salou : 4* TUI Family Life Avenida Suites – Selected rooms can hold up to 5
TUI have numerous choices of accommodation in Salou, but the TUI Family Life Avenida Suites are one of my favourites and had to be included in this list of summer 2020 family holiday deals. Located just 10 minutes walk to the beach and within easy access of the town centre and Port Aventura, they are superbly situated.
Suites are bright and modern and come with mini-fridges and microwaves, which is ideal for families with young children. There is a large swimming pool as well as a kids pool with a slide and a host of on-site activities for all the family to enjoy. Kids will love the kids club and mini-disco, teens have their own ‘Hangout’, and there is also a baby club for little ones. Breakfast and evening meal is included in the cost and the reviews of the food are excellent on tripadvisor, in fact this complex is rated the 2nd best out of 92 hotels in Salou.
Summer 2020 Family Holiday Deals – All Inclusive Resorts
Ibiza: Sirenis Cala Llonga Resort
Located just 20 minutes drive from Ibiza Town, this peaceful resort is worlds apart from Ibiza’s buzzing capital. Ideal for a quiet family holiday with a good selection of restaurants, shops and bars, this is chilled-out Ibiza at it’s best. Perched on a hill overlooking a delightful cove beach, it has wonderful views as well as facilities. With two restaurants, five bars and three pools, including a splash zone for kids, this is a great choice for a family holiday. There is daytime activity programme and entertainment every night, as well as a gym, sauna, whirlpool bath and adult-only chill out zone! With all meals and drinks included in the cost, this is superb value for a family holiday.
Costa del Sol: Splashworld 4* Globales Playa Estepona – Selected rooms can hold up to 7
SplashWorld or waterpark holidays guarantee lots of pool time and TUI have 18 different SplashWorld Resorts to choose from. When you book a SplashWorld holiday you will enjoy the advantages of an all inclusive resort, with all meals and drinks included in the price, as well as having free access to a waterpark throughout your stay.
This has to be one of the best summer 2020 family holiday deals and they even have rooms that sleep up to 7! Some Splashworld resorts have waterparks on site, others are close by. The highly rated Globales Playa Estepona has a waterpark on-site, as well as numerous sports activities, kids clubs, day and night time entertainment and it’s own beach club restaurant. Younger children have their own spray park and mini slides in a pirate-themed area. The hotel is situated close to glitzy Puerto Banus and offers a shuttle bus service 2-3 times per day into the centre.
4* + Holiday Village Tenerife
TUI’s Holiday Villages are the ultimate family holiday resorts so it is great to see TUI offering free child places for summer 2020 in all of their resorts. Expect aerial adventure courses, expert run swimming academies, stage schools, football camps and ’round the clock’ entertainment. Kids clubs are available for all age groups, so whether you have babies or teenagers, they will be well catered for.
The Holiday Village in Tenerife has all this and more. With a choice of three restaurants, a cinema, bowling alley and a choice of swimming pools – what more could you want? Let the kids enjoy the waterslides while you chill out on Balinese beds at the quiet pool, or better still, enjoy a massage at the spa. The Holiday Village in Tenerife is an All Inclusive resort, so all meals and drinks included in the cost!
Bulgaria: 4* SplashWorld Aqua Nevis Club hotel – Selected rooms can hold up to 5
The Aqua Nevis Clubhotel has been a firm favourite with Irish holiday makers for many years. The waterpark is huge and is on-site. There is a family friendly lazy river and wave pool, an Adventure Island for younger children with mini slides and water sprays, as well as slides to keep thrill-seekers happy too! Located within walking distance of the town centre and beach, but the hotel also has a free shuttle bus if you are too tired after a day at the waterpark! Family rooms are great too with sliding doors separating the bedroom from the living area, they also have rooms that cater for families with three children.

Greece: 5* Holiday Village Atlantica Rhodes
Expect non-stop activities, a great selection of dining options and lots of pool choices at this five star Holiday Village. There are four outdoor pools, one indoor pool and an adventure splash park with waterslides and a lazy river. There are three à la carte restaurants to choose from, as well as a huge buffet restaurant. Various kids clubs are available from 3 to 15 year olds with a crèche facility for infants. Activities are not run of the mill either – try kayaking, raft building, aeroball (basketball on a trampoline) or the aerial adventure course. There is even an astro football pitch! Kids from age 3 can learn to swim with qualified instructors and the football academy has qualified UEFA coaches, teaching 5-15 year olds some of their skills.
If this all sounds like too much, you can chill out on the beach, just five minutes away, or relax in the plush spa. Entertainment goes on until late at night with live music, shows and a mini-cinema. There is a wide selection of rooms available including family rooms with a games console, swim-up rooms, or suites with a private pool.
