Set on beautiful grounds and close to Sligo Town centre, the 4-star Clayton Sligo ticks all boxes for a family holiday in Ireland. We stayed here a few years ago and loved its family friendly facilities and spacious family rooms. The leisure centre has a separate kids pool, and a kids club usually operates during school holidays.

We stayed there a few years ago and enjoyed the leisure club, choice of dining options and family friendly rooms. Johnstown Estate is the ideal choice if you want a luxury family break that is close to Dublin. Set within 120 acres of stunning parkland, this 1750’s Georgian residence has extensive leisure and spa facilities, golf and horse riding, as well as a choice of dining options. We enjoyed a fabulous break here last winter and loved its fabulous spa, and family friendly atmosphere.
The two-bedroom self-catering lodges are perfect for families who want to enjoy all the hotel’s facilities but enjoy the benefits of spacious self catering homes. Each lodge has a separate dining and relaxing area and a terrace that opens onto a green with a small children’s play area.

The Midlands Park Hotel is located in the centre of Portlaoise and has the added benefit of a leisure club with a 22 metre pool and a kids club onsite. We stayed here last year and loved its family friendly facilities and super service. There is a choice of dining options available, including Kelly’s Steakhouse which I can highly recommend.

Enjoy a staycation in the capital this summer with a super deal from the centrally located Clayton Hotel Cardiff Lane. Pearse Street Train Station is a 10-minute walk away and Grafton Street and Temple Bar can be reached in 20 minutes. If you have teens or and are looking for two separate rooms then a family escape at the 4 Star Leonardo Hotel Cork is hard to beat for value! We had a super time in Cork city last year, and this is an amazing opportunity to visit the food capital of Ireland.
Visit Cork’s English Market and Marina Market, take a boat trip with Ocean Escapes, cycle the Passage West Greenway or take a trip to Spike Island – there are so many great things to do in Cork.

Top rated on TripAdvisor, these centrally located apartments offer all the benefits of self-catering, with hotel amenities, including complimentary access Talbot Hotel leisure centre, swimming pool and gym.

The Garryvoe Hotel is a firm favourite with beach lovers, as it sits proudly on a five-miles Blue Flag beach. 19. Laois: Glamping Under The Stars, 2ad & 2ch from €379
I had the pleasure of visiting Glamping under the Stars a few years ago and loved staying in these cute Hobbit Houses. As well as a unique family holiday in Ireland, they are so well equipped that they offer the best of both worlds – a back to nature escape with all the modern comforts of home. Located just an hour from Dublin, this award-winning glamping site is a super choice for a summer staycation.
The newly opened luxurious 2 and 3-bedroom houses take the term glamping to a whole new level. All have a unique theme with murals from local artists and include ensuite bathrooms, kitchen, as well as a large, elevated deck or patio.
There is also a communal ‘Glamp House’ has a kitchen & dining area with a barbecue deck, campfire area, as well as children’s playhouse, sandpit and fairyhouse.
Price from €379 for 2 nights in a wood lodge or €399 in a standard hobbit house, both sleeping up to six. The luxury 2 bedroom Honeycomb House is €799 and the three bedroom Seanchai’s House is €899, sleeping six and eight respectively.
20. Waterford: Mount Congreve Cabins, 2ad & 2ch €620
I enjoyed a fabulous overnight escape at Mount Congreve Gardens and it is the perfect treat for families looking for unique accommodation in 72 acres of gardens, beside the Waterford Greenway. Adults can use the private hot tub while children will enjoy the after hours access to the Gardens which have a large playground and family friendly amenities.
