10 Family Holiday Deals For Halloween Break – City Breaks and Sun Holidays

From sun holidays to city breaks, theme park adventures to luxury five-star resorts, I’ve got 10 family holidays for Halloween break to suit all tastes and budgets.

Still searching for family holidays for Halloween break? I’ve done all the hard work for you and have some great options below to choose from. Whether you want a city break in Washington, a beach holiday in the Lanzarote or a short break in Disneyland Paris, I’ve got you covered.
I have chosen random dates during the mid term break but you can edit the dates via the links below – you should find it is cheaper to depart the day before mid term officially starts, or return a day later.

Headline prices below are inclusive of flights and based on two adults and two children travelling, however many of the accommodation listed below can accommodate larger families – see individual deals for details.

TOP TIP: Prices are correct at the time of publication (24th September) but if lots of people are trying to access flights or accommodation at the same time, the prices may increase. If this happens, edit the search dates, or check back later – you may find the holiday is still available.

1. Algarve: Flights & Apartment, 1 week from €1311

family holidays to the Algarve for Halloween break

I am a regular visitor to the Algarve, and I enjoyed a family holiday for Halloween break here two years ago. I love its stunning beaches, great choice of restaurants and how family friendly it is.

There are multiple flights to Faro from Ireland but I found return flights for seven nights on the 29th of October from Cork for only €245 per person. Return flights from Dublin and Knock are €308 on the same dates, and flights are also available from Shannon for five nights for €354.

Similarly there are many different accommodation options to choose from. An apartment in the Aparthotel Paladim & Alagoamar  is only €331 for seven nights.

Families of five can enjoy a two-bedroom apartment in the popular Balaia Golf Village for €603, while a suite in the superb beachfront Pestana South Beach in Alvor is just €956 including breakfast for a family of four.

family holidays for Halloween break in the Canary Islands

The Canary Islands are the most popular destination for family holidays for Halloween, as traditionally it is the best place to guarantee some October sunshine. For this reason flights are more expensive than other areas.

The best prices I found were flying out from Dublin with Ryanair on the 29th of October and returning with Aer Lingus on the 4th of November – the total cost is €412 per person. However, if you can travel Monday – Monday return flights with Ryanair are only €327 per person. Flights are also available from Cork, €551 and Shannon, €423.

Treat the kids to a trip to PortAventura and Ferrari Land over the October bank holiday weekend. I have a three night break staying on site in the 4-star Gold River Hotel. This offers unlimited access to PortAventura plus a 1 day pass to Ferrari Land.

Price for flights into nearby Reus airport, hotel accommodation for three nights and unlimited park entry, is €1610 for a family of four.

4. Disneyland Paris: Flights, Hotel & 2-Day Park Passes, 3-Nights, €1786

Reasons to visit Disneyland Paris

Disneyland Paris is magical at any time of year but at Halloween you can expect plenty of spooky activities that the kids will love! Main Street U.S.A is full of pumpkins, flickering lights and creepy sounds while scary attractions like Phantom Manor and Tower of Terror have some additional spooky surprises in store.

Return flights to Orly airport offer the best value over Halloween break and Orly is only about 45 minutes from Disneyland Paris.

The 4-star Moxy Paris Val d’Europe is a popular and stylish place to stay. It is located in the shopping area of Val D’Europe, and within easy access to Disneyland Paris – just four minutes away by train.

I found great value flights from Dublin to Verona for just €169 on the 28th of October – this is the closest airport to Lake Garda. However there are also flights from Dublin, Cork and Knock to Bergamo, about 90 minutes away.

A seven-night stay in a two-bedroom bungalow at the popular Camping Bella Italia is only €342. This is an ideal choice for those looking for a family holiday in Lake Garda without breaking the bank. Note swimming pools may be closed (weather permitting), but I have been advised by Bella Italia that animation activities will be available and restaurants, shops and bars will be opened till the 5th of November.
