Looking for the perfect present for someone who loves to travel? My unique travel gifts will give you plenty of inspiration.
I am fortunate that I can justify spending money on travel accessories, so one of my guilty pleasures is browsing websites to see what’s new. I have picked some of my favourite items below, many of which I already own, but there are a few that are still on my wish list… Perhaps you want to treat a loved one to some unique travel gifts, or maybe you just want to treat yourself?
Whatever the reason, I’ve got gifts from €17 to €399, so there is something here to suit all tastes and budgets. I hope one of my unique travel gifts takes your fancy – do let me know in the comments below. 😎
1. Personalised Leather Passport Holder and Luggage Tag: €75
This was my favourite travel gift that I received when I started my website. I have seen personalised passport holders and luggage tags elsewhere, but seeing my company logo perfectly engraved on them was something special. Nine years and hundreds of flights later and I still love them. The high quality leather ages beautifully and both look ‘well travelled’.
These unique travel gifts are made by CarveOn, an Irish company who use premium vegetable tanned leather, and each product is finished by hand. CarveOn ensure their suppliers were environmentally conscious and all packaging uses recycled materials.
2. World Map Pendant & Chain: €23
I have a similar pendant to this and love it. This is a great gift for the girl who likes to travel, and at only €23 it makes an ideal stocking filler.
3. Travel Prints: from €54
A personalised print from a favourite destination is another unique travel gift. Perhaps you have memories of where you first met your loved one, or a place you like go back to regularly? There are many different prints to choose from, depending on personal taste. They also make great wedding or engagement gifts.
I like this Map Mountain where you can feature any three cities in the world. They have a vast resource of maps to use, so even small towns can be included. You can choose these unique travel gifts framed or unframed. I ordered one of these for my nephew when he moved overseas and was impressed with the quality and service.
Another gift that took my fancy is this contemporary bus blind, that will highlight a personal place in coordinates. This would suit an office too.

6. Give the gift of a travel experience.

Remember when a hop on hop off bus tour was the only tour in town? Now food tours, helicopter rides, cookery lessons and tuk-tuk tours are the way to explore new cities. We enjoyed a Vespa Tour in Rome recently and loved it. I love giving the gift of experiences and think a tour or excursion is wonderful travel gift.
Viator are one of the largest companies in the world offering private and group tours as well as unique experiences. Owned by TripAdvisor, the reviews are easy to read, and they have flexible booking conditions.
7. Apple Airtag: from €35
The Apple AirTag looks like a large coin and can be placed in your suitcase or backpack when you travel. It shows you where you luggage is at all times via the Find my Network app.
Priced at just €35 for one coin, and €119 for a pack of four, these are a good investment if you are concerned about lost luggage. Samsung have a similar device called a Smart Tag, and Tile is another alternative that works with any mobile device, but does not have the same precision finding as the AirTag.
8. Go-Pro Hero 10 Waterproof Digital Action Camera: £349
This is the ultimate travel accessory. I have used mine to get some great underwater footage, and I tied it around my chest on the ski slopes in Austria last year.
It has a built in stabiliser so is great if you are on the go, or just want to record yourself while walking. It also captures great photos, even in low light areas.
9. Bamboo Eye Mask & Pillowcase: €55
This gift set from Irish designer Jo Browne is a gorgeous travel gift for someone who likes a little luxury in their life! Made from Bamboo fabric – it feels like a silky cashmere. Bamboo fabric is hypoallergenic and breathable, making it cooler in summer and warmer in winter.
Ideal for long journeys, this pillowcase and matching face mask will surely make sleeping that little bit easier.
10. Marc Jacobs Large Traveller Tote Bag: from €220
I am a big fan of Marc Jacobs bags and their tote bags are so versatile. They are lightweight and roomy so are ideal for travelling, shopping or even a day at the beach.
They come in various colours and sizes but I suggest buying a medium or large for the travel addict in your life. I particularly like the design above, but there are large tote bags available from €220.
11. Hotel vouchers with 4 handmade Irish gifts: From €160
With a choice of over 20 hotels to choose from, in superb locations throughout Ireland, Christmas gift boxes from Select Hotels of Ireland are the ultimate travel gift this Christmas. As well as giving someone a hotel gift voucher, these gift boxes include four handmade Irish gifts.
12. Jabra noise cancelling ear buds: £149
Noice cancelling ear phones or ear buds are a Godsend when travelling. Jabra are highly recommended for their advanced noice cancellation capabilities and long lasting rechargeable batteries, which last up to 31 hours with the case. They are less expensive than some of the more well known brands, and are a great travel gift.
13. Personalised Leather Travel Journal: €18
This distressed leather travel journal is an inexpensive and beautiful gift for the traveller in your life. The handmade, eco-friendly and Fair Trade journal also makes a difference to the communities who make them.
The cotton is made by a charity that promotes women’s development in rural areas of Rajasthan, India. There are different sizes to choose from and all can be personalised.
14. Louis Copeland’s Weekender LeatherBag: €319
For men who like to travel, or have to travel for work, this is a practical, yet luxurious Christmas gift. As well as a leather weekender bag it can also be used as a suit bag.
Beneath two zip pockets you will find a suit carrier as well as shoe pockets. If you are looking for unique travel gifts for men, look no further. Available in brown or black.
15. Samsonsite light-shock cabin case: £276
I can not stress how important it is to have good quality, light-weight cabin baggage. I have a this cabin case and it has saved me a fortune on checked baggage fees.
It may be more of a practical travel gift rather than a unique travel gift, but believe me the travel addict in your life will thank you for it! It is so light and expandable that you can fit much more inside this case than another case of similar size. I purchased mine in Kildare Village, but they are also available on Amazon.

If your travel pal likes gadgets – this is the ultimate gift. I bought one of these last year and love it. It is a 360 camera action camera that can be used for photos, videos and live streaming. It is also waterproof and has what looks like an invisible selfie-stick on screen!
I have linked the newer model which has an even longer batter life, larger screen, faster WiFi, increased camera pixels and voice control. Check out the video above to see all the amazing features.
