From luxury beachfront resorts to stylish boutique hotels and great-value stays, discover the best hotels in Tenerife for the perfect Canary Island getaway.
Choosing where to stay in Tenerife, with so many options available, really comes down to your style of holiday, budget and preferred location. From lively beach resorts in the south to quieter, more traditional areas in the north, the island offers something for everyone. To make things easier, we have rounded up some of the best hotels in Tenerife, whether you are looking for great value four-star hotels, luxury five-star resorts, adults-only escapes or spacious self-catering apartments.
Tenerife Resort Guide

The most popular areas in Tenerife are located in the south of the island, where you will find the best beaches, warmest weather and a wide choice of resorts. The largest resort is Playa de las Américas, known for its lively atmosphere, great nightlife and long stretches of sandy beach.
I have visited Tenerife several times and always find myself choosing Playa de las Américas. This area has the most lively bars and restaurants, great shopping, and is home to the famous Siam Park, which has been voted the top water park in Europe. It is not just for children either, it makes for a brilliant day out.
If you prefer somewhere a little more relaxed, neighbouring Costa Adeje offers a more upmarket feel, with many 5 star hotels located here. Close by, Playa Paraiso is quieter again, but ideal for those looking for a peaceful location while still being within easy reach of the main resorts.
For a classic and well-loved option, Los Cristianos remains a firm favourite, particularly with families and repeat visitors who like its charming harbour and promenade, which leads all the way into Playa de las Americas.
The north of the island also welcomes holidaymakers with Puerto de la Cruz and Puerto de Santiago offering a more relaxed and authentic Tenerife experience. The landscape is greener, and the areas around Mount Teide, Spain’s highest peak, provide excellent walking and hiking trails. Temperatures are often cooler here too and hotels offer great value.
