Best Hotels in Dubrovnik, Croatia And The Surrounding Areas – Our 20 Top Picks
Discover where to stay in Dubrovnik with our handpicked selection of 20 of the best hotels in Dubrovnik and nearby.
Dubrovnik may be a small city, but deciding where to stay in Dubrovnik is not always straightforward. Many visitors to Croatia’s most visited destination choose accommodation on the outskirts rather than inside the historic medieval Old Town.
Before booking, it is worth considering whether you want to stay in the heart of the bustling city, where crowds and high temperatures can be challenging during peak season, or in a quieter beachfront location that still offers easy access to the centre, a choice both Sarah and I made when we visited Dubrovnik recently. With this in mind, we have selected the best hotels in Dubrovnik Croatia across a variety of locations to suit different travel styles and preferences.

Our guide to the best hotels in Dubrovnik includes everything from great value three star favourites and family friendly hotels to boutique stays and luxury hotels in Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik and the surrounding area offer a wide range of accommodation options, making it easy to find somewhere that suits couples, families, and solo travellers alike.

TripAdvisor review score: 4.3/5
You may remember my stay last year at the 5 star Hotel Croatia which is located in the town of Cavtat and offers stunning sea views. The seafront can be reached in about 10 minutes via steep steps or by the hotel’s golf buggy service. Back at the hotel, guests can enjoy four restaurants, two bars and regular live music during the summer.
I would also recommend you check out the cost for half board when you’re booking, the supplement is generally quite reasonable, especially if you are likely to dine in for most of your stay.
This hotel receives excellent reviews on TripAdvisor and is a Travellers Choice award winner. Personally, I would say it is a good four star hotel but it does not quite reach a five star standard for me.
17. Admiral Grand Hotel, Slano *****

The 5 star Admiral Grand Hotel has a location that offers the best of both worlds. It’s on a beautiful bay in a quiet village, yet Dubrovnik can be easily reached by local bus. There’s a multi-purpose sports court here for football, basketball and handball. Plus, you’ll find three tennis courts too.
There’s a sea-facing pool and a couple of good restaurants here, but it’s easy to get out and about if you want more choice. A local bus runs to Dubrovnik’s picturesque old town, 45 minutes away.
This hotel is half board as standard so will include your breakfast and evening meal each day. The beachside restaurant has the best sea views and a pastry shop that offers a selection of local sweets.
