I visited St Lucia many years ago and loved it.

There are direct charter flights to Cancun during June and July with TUI, offering excellent value on two-week package holidays. Aer Lingus will also fly direct to Cancun from Dublin from October 2026.

I visited Barbados many years ago and loved it. I met people from all walks of life who emigrated here, and it was obvious they were happy with their choice! Barbados has a friendly relaxed vibe, we felt it all over the island.

10. Utah
Last year, we spent ten days driving through Utah’s Mighty 5 National Parks and it remains one of the most remarkable trips I have ever taken.
Hiking the Narrows in Zion National Park, staying in a Bubble Dome in Bryce Canyon and taking a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon were all special experiences in their own way. However, watching the sun rise over Monument Valley, while our Navajo guide performed the theme from The Last of the Mohicans on a flute, it is up there with one of my best travel experiences of all time – I still get goosebumps thinking about it!
We hiked, biked, rode horses and drove ATVs, all while staying in some of Utah’s great towns and villages. We rounded up a great trip by spending four nights in the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas – just a two hour drive from Zion National Park. 11. Deep South Road Trip

Watching the sunrise over Machu Picchu is on every travel bucket list I see, and it is also on mine. I would love to trek the Inca Trail, visit the Sacred Valley and see Lake Titicaca. You don’t have to take the strenuous trek, there is a train that brings you right to the magical city.
