The Algarve is one of my favourite sun holiday destinations. I travel there regularly for family holidays and girly getaways, and love its stunning beaches and pretty old towns.

There are so many resorts to choose from including the lively resorts of Albufeira and Praia da Rocha, and the quieter more relaxed towns of Alvor and Sagres. For those looking for glitz and glamour, Vilamoura will not disappoint, and of course the Algarve is home to some of Europe’s top golf courses.

The Costa del Sol needs no introduction, as it is one of the most popular holiday destinations from Ireland. With a host of resorts to choose from, including the lively resorts of Benalmadena and Marbella, as well as glitzy Puerto Banus or more relaxed Estapona, there is something for everyone to enjoy on the Costa del Sol.

Malaga City should not be overlooked either. It has terrific tapas bars, a charming old town and the Caminito del Rey walking trail is close by.
