With direct flights from Dublin to Marrakesh with Aer Lingus and Ryanair, there has never been a better time to visit Morocco’s medieval city. I have just returned from a weekend break in Marrakesh and loved it. There is so much to see and do, from shopping in the souks to relaxing in the Jardin de Majorelle, exploring its palaces and architectural highlights, to rising above the Atlas Mountains in a hot air balloon. The city’s energy, rich culture and welcoming people have already convinced me to plan a return visit.
The historical walled Medina is the beating heart of this city. Go bargain hunting in the souks, enjoy a sunset dinner in one of its many rooftop restaurants and walk across the main square, Jemâa El-Fna, where you will find everything from snake charmers to cookery shows!

There are many traditional private mansions, or ‘riads’ located near the Medina. These house some of Marrakesh’s favourite hotels now and are an authentic place to stay to soak up the atmosphere.
However, if you don’t want to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the Medina, there are plenty of hotels to choose from in quieter locations, including Marrakesh’s new town or the resorts outside the city, such as popular Palmeraie.
I have listed various options below, all including four night stays – I believe you need at least four nights to experience Marrakesh properly, or longer if you time and budget allows! I have select random dates below but dates and durations can be changed via the links below.
Flights & 4 Night Weekend Riad Stay: €339pp
I found return flights in September and October from Dublin to Marrakesh from €177 with Ryanair. A four-night stay in the centrally located Riad Alida and Riad De Vinci & SPA are only €162pp and €206pp respectively – with both including breakfast.
Ideally located just 15 minutes walk from the famous Jemâa El Fna square, with rooftop terrace and small pool, these offer great value for a weekend break in Marrakech in an authentic setting. Check out the great reviews on TripAdvisor if you still need convincing.
Note: Riads, by tradition, have a small number of rooms and sell out quickly, but there are many Riads available at a similar price. I have lots of top recommended Riads listed in my travel guide but check TripAdvisor and Booking.com ratings to ensure a great stay.

Flights & 4 Star+ All Inclusive 4 Night Weekend Stay: €699pp
If you prefer a resort style hotel, why not consider the highly-rated, all inclusive 4 star TUI BLUE Medina Gardens? Most all inclusive resorts are located outside the city centre, but the adult-only Medina Gardens is an exception.
Ideally located to enjoy the energy of this city, but also offering 7 bars, 2 pools, and 3 restaurants for you to enjoy, a stay here offers the best of both worlds.
Travel on the 2nd of October for four nights including flights, all meals and drinks for just €699 per person. .
Flights & Top 5 Star Marrakesh Hotel B&B: 4 Night Weekend Stay: €769pp
For a luxury hotel stay close to the Medina, then look no further than the 5 Star Les Jardins de la Medina. Located in an exceptional 3000 m² garden, this historic hotel will feel a world away from the busy medina yet can be reached in 5-10 minutes by taxi.
