Did you know Amsterdam, is known as ‘The Venice of the North’? That’s due to its abundance of canals. In fact, Amsterdam is home to more canals than Venice, with 165 canals covering more than one hundred kilometres and 1,753 bridges. Venice has just 391 bridges crossing 150 canals!
You can explore the moving Anne Frank House, enjoy a scenic canal boat ride, or, if you’re a beer enthusiast, don’t miss the Heineken Experience. Art lovers can’t afford to miss the Vincent van Gogh Museum.
You will stay at the 4 star Zaan Hotel Amsterdam, located in Zaandam on the outskirts of Amsterdam. It offers excellent transport links into the city centre, with just a 12 minute train journey to Amsterdam city centre. Once home to more than 1,000 windmills, the area still showcases its heritage through historic windmills, green wooden houses, and a selection of interesting museums.
