I had the pleasure of staying in the Riverside Park Hotel last summer, and was delighted when they got in touch and asked me to showcase their autumn breaks. The Riverside Park Hotel is located on the banks of the River Slaney in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford.
While my visit was a family stay, I think its choice of dining options, lively bar, and leisure centre on site, make it a great choice for couples when kids are back in school.
The hotel is ideally located if you want to get out and about and explore Wexford. With 275km of coastline, beaches are without a doubt some of Wexford’s top attractions – and the stunning Curraloe beach just 19km away.
The world’s oldest working lighthouse in the world – Hook Lighthouse, is definitely worth a visit, and you should check out the new coastal walk from Arthurstown to Duncannon on the same peninsula. If adventure is what you seek, sea-cave kayaking with the Irish Experience is a good choice.

However, if you don’t want to venture too far, there is a delightful 5km river walk that starts right outside the Riverside Park Hotel, and the town centre of Enniscorthy is only a five minute walk away. Kayaking is also available on the River Slaney with Go Paddle.
You can also choose from a selection of dining options at the Riverside Park Hotel. We enjoyed a delicious meal in Alamo Steakhouse, followed by drinks in the Prom bar, which overlooks the River Slaney.
There is a full bar menu and daily carvery at the Prom Bar too, or you can opt for fine-dining at the elegant Moorings restaurant. As well as an extensive cold buffet selection, you can enjoy a choice of hot breakfasts served to your table at the Moorings Restaurant – this is included in your stay.
