Now that January is here, we are all dreaming of summer holidays. Lots of research has been done over Christmas and now is the time to book! I’ve rounded up all the best January travel sales into one post to help you with your travel plans, and I will be adding to this as more offers come in.

Flight sales:

Aer Lingus’ ‘European flight sale has up to 25% off flights to UK and Europe for travel between the 1st February and 15th June – you must book by the 16th January. They also have flights to the USA from €179 each way if booked as part of a return trip – valid for travel from the 1st of February to the 31st May 2023. There are 4 million seats on offer, although not during the peak summer months.

The Intercontinental Hotel is offering 20% off room rates between the 1^st of January and 31^st December 2023, book by 16th January.

The Trinity City Hotel is offering 20% off room rates – book by 10th January.

The g Hotel Galway is offering 15% off bed and breakfast rates, 20% off two night stays with breakfast and dinner on one evening, and 20% off the two-night Pamper Me packages. Packages are available to book on the 6^th and 7^th January for stays up to the end of September 2023.

The Hardiman Galway is offering midweek stays with breakfast, dinner and a bottle of wine from €105 per person for stays from January to 14th March 2023. Book by 9th January.

The Riverside Park Hotel in Wexford is offering 10% off its family summer breaks. Prices for two-night family stays are €463 for a family of four including breakfast each day, a 4-course evening meal on the evening of your choice, plus a family activity pass.

Powerscourt Hotel Wicklow is offering 20% off midweek stays on Bed & Breakfast rates for selected stays from Sunday to Thursday up to end of March.

I publish a Black Friday travel deals post every year, and its always a great success! I compile a list of the best flight sales, and holiday deals abroad as well as hotel offers, attraction tickets and car hire deals. I also have some nice travel gifts, which are ideal for anyone who loves to to travel 🎁.

Note all of these Black Friday deals are subject to availability, but in most cases dates and durations can be changed via the links provided. I will be updating this post throughout the week as I receive more offers – so make sure to check back regularly so you don’t miss any Black Friday travel deals.

Cruise deals:

Sunway has exclusive offers with Norwegian Cruise line for Black Friday. As well as 50% savings on selected cruises, they are offering €100 on board credit per cabin for all Norwegian cruises booked before 30th November.

Princess Cruises is offering free flights up to €350 per person on selected 2023 cruises.

Highlights include a four-night taster cruise from €299 in April and a six-night Spain and France cruise from €571 in March including flights, transfers and checked baggage.

Tour America is offering a selection of Black Friday offers to the USA as well as cruise holidays. Highlights include a 7-night Norwegian Fjords on the 5-Star Celebrity Apex. Royal Caribbean International has savings of up to €860 per stateroom, free balcony upgrades, plus kids sail from €99. I’ve searched the web so you don’t have to! My best travel deals include last minute holidays, summer holidays, city breaks, long haul deal and staycations for couples and families.

This week’s best travel deals include Easter breaks to Croatia, summer in Tuscany, Majorca and Madrid, a California road trip, an Alaska cruise, glamping in Donegal and an overnight escape to Wicklow.

It is important to be aware of the latest travel restrictions of the country you are travelling to. Boosters or pre-departure tests are required for travel to most countries in Europe if initial vaccination is over 270 days. Please check the latest travel restrictions on the DFA website before you travel.

Best last minute:

Spend Easter in Croatia! This five-star deal is amazing value, and you can choose a three or seven-night stay. Fly to Dubrovnik on Easter Sunday and enjoy a three-night stay in the fabulous 5-star Hotel Croatia for just €399 per person, or relax and enjoy a seven-night stay for just €569. And that’s not all – breakfast and dinner are included!

Best overnight escape:

Walk or cycle the Blessington Greenway followed by an overnight escape in Tulfarris Hotel and Golf Resort. We stayed here recently and loved its location overlooking Blessington Lakes.

There are many offers to choose from with prices from €66 per person including breakfast, €104 per person including a three-course dinner in the Fia Rua Restaurant, or enjoy a round of golf with breakfast and dinner for just €129 per person. A glass of Prosecco is also included if you book directly on the hotel’s website.

I priced this deal on the 24th of April arrival, but many more dates are available.

Best summer sun:

There has never been a better time to visit Tuscany – the airfares to Pisa from Dublin and Cork airport are great value this summer. Some of the flights arrive in late at night, so I suggest spending a night in Pisa, exploring the Leaning Tower and its surrounding Cathedral Square, and then hiring a car and leaving the city for some of Tuscany’s more interesting towns and villages.

I have priced this trip based on a seven-night stay in San Gimignano – one of my favourite Tuscan towns, an overnight in Pisa and car hire. Total cost for this eight-day trip is €725pp in June. Prices are similar from Dublin or Cork, and durations can be shorter or longer – simply edit the dates via the links below to suit your requirements.

Best city break:

With Aer Lingus, Ryanair and Iberia Express all flying to Madrid from Dublin, there has never been a better time to grab a city break deal to the Spanish capital.

I found great value flights departing on the 12th of June. The price for flights and a two-night stay in the centrally located 4-star Hotel Mayorazgo is only €191 per person. Highly rated on TripAdvisor, this is great value for a summer city break.

Best family holiday:

With many schools offering an extended break over the June bank holiday weekend, that might be a good time to book your family holiday this year. I found a good deal to the Splashworld Resort, Globales Bouganvilla in Majorca. This All Inclusive resort has its own waterpark on site, and all meals and drinks are included in the cost.

Price for flights, checked baggage, transfers, and a seven-night stay from the 2nd of June is €2481 based on 2 adults and 2 children sharing. Use code SUN150 to save €150 off the listed price of this, or any holiday departing in May or June – minimum spend €1000.

Best family staycation:

Treat the kids to a glamping stay before they go back to school. I’ve got the lakeside Lough Mardal Lodge in Donegal on my own wish list – just check out the yurts with king-sized beds, wood burning stoves and a veranada overlooking the lake!

Price for a two-night stay in a Skydome yurt is €360 based on a family of four sharing on the 19th of August.

Best cruise:

Alaska, a place most of us only ever dreamed of visiting, has suddenly become more affordable, thanks to direct flights to Seattle from Aer Lingus, and some great cruise deals.

Sunway has a super September offer that includes direct flights with checked baggage, an overnight stay in Seattle, and a seven-night Alaska cruise on Crown Princess, all for just €1699. Add on a premium drinks package, WiFi and gratuities for just €245.

Best long haul

Is a California road-trip on your bucket list? With Aer Lingus now flying direct to San Francisco and Los Angeles, you can fly into San Francisco, pick up a car, drive the Pacific Coast Highway and fly home from LA. I’ve put together a great itinerary, based on a similar trip we did a few years ago.
