Family Deal to Crete, October Mid Term Break, 2ad & 2ch, 1 week, €984!

Crete

Fancy a family getaway during the October Mid Term break? Check out this amazing family deal to Crete for only €984 and get planning!

The October Mid Term break is a notoriously expensive time to travel but this family deal to Crete should give you no excuse to pack those bags! You will be flying into Chania on the west of the island and staying in a highly rated family friendly apartment. Chania is Crete’s second largest city and it is often referred to as ‘little Venice’. It’s stunning harbour filled with old Venetian buildings and narrow streets make it a beautiful place to stroll around. There is a great atmosphere around the waterfront cafes where people enjoy some tasty Greek food. Many old buildings have been transformed into boutique hotels but they still retain the character of this great city. There are plenty of quaint shopping streets with local souvenir and craft shops as well as galleries and museums to explore. The surrounding area has numerous sight seeing options, the Samaria Gorge being the most famous. Explore the mountain villages or simply relax on one of Crete’s sandy beaches, the choice is yours.

I chose Elma’s Dream apartments because they are located only 100 meters from the beach and close and the resort centre. They are also only 3.5km from the centre of  Chania and 7km from the airport. They were awarded a certificate of excellence from tripadvisor and have received excellent reviews. There is an adults and children’s pool and pool bar and restaurant on site and free WiFi is provided. Apartments are equipped with all mod cons, including air conditioning and a coffee machine. For anyone worried about weather, I checked the temperatures over the last five years on wunderground and the average was 19 degrees with no rain. That’s good enough for me!

Fly from Dublin to Chania on the 25th of October and spend seven nights in the Elma’s Dream Apartments for only €789 based on 2 adults and 1 child or €984, based on 2 adults and 2 children sharing. Last Minute Holiday Deals From The Marian Finucane Show

Radio-Show-Feature-RTE-1

Looking for last minute holiday deals? Check out my top choices that I discussed with Marian Finucane.

This summer is quite surprising in terms of last minute holidays as there is still lots of availability. Usually in July we see accommodation shortages in Spain and Portugal but that is not the case this year. That combined with extra capacity with Ryanair and Aer Lingus means that for anyone hoping to secure a last minute deal – you are in luck!

Spain, Portugal, Sicily.

Sunway Holidays in particular have lots of availability in July and August and because they are a package holiday company, they have paid for accommodation in advance and are able to offer package deals at low prices. Next weekend, the 15th of July you can go to the Canary Islands and Sicily for €399 for 1 week, including checked baggage and transfers. When you think that a checked bag to the Canary Islands is normally €110, it is exceptional value to have everything included in the price.  Click here for more details. They have some great family prices too. A  week in the Algarve is €1576 on the 15th of July in the popular Estrella do Vau apartments and you can go to the family island of Menorca from €1676 on the 23rd of July. Both  prices are based on 2 adults and 2 children and include transfers and baggage. Click here for more details.

Click&Go are also promoting last minute deals and are offering families the chance to pay 50% now and the remainder 2-4 weeks before departure. Usually with last minute holidays, you have to pay the full amount at the time of booking so this will help families looking to go in August who can pay half now and half when they get paid at the end of July.  They are offering deals to Salou in July and August, one of this years top family destinations. Prices for 2 adults and 2 children is €2338 in the popular four star Regina Gran hotel including breakfast and evening meal. This departs the 21st of July and includes flights and transfers. Click here for more details. They also have an all-inclusive deal in the Villamarina Club from €2554 on the 4th of August, based on 2 adults and 2 children. Click here for more details

Some of the UK travel giants have joined the Irish market this year. In particular Teletext holidays, who have been selling holidays for over 25 years. Their prices are very competitive and they have a wide selection of accommodation available so their website is definitely worth checking out.  I found a great deal to the Algarve departing the 20th of July. Price for 2 adults and 2 children is €1516 including flights and accommodation in the Eirasol apartments, Albufeira. You can add on transfers and checked baggage if required. Teletext Holidays Launch in Ireland

teletext holidays

UK’s travel giant Teletext Holidays launches in Ireland, with a wide selection of holidays available from all Irish airports.

How many of you used to look up holidays on Teletext?  The ‘Aertel’ brings back so many fond memories of planning holidays! In the UK, Teletext Holidays took this one step further and launched their own travel brand. Believe it or not it was the first digital travel agent in the 90’s and they eventually moved from TV screens to an online travel agency.  They have carried over 20 million customers over 25 years and a staggering 380,000 in 2016. The must be doing something right!

The good news is this travel agent that conjures up nostalgic moments in my mind, has launched in Ireland. They will use their 25 years of experience to offer a full range of affordable holidays including worldwide holidays, European sun resorts, city breaks and last minute deals, from all Irish airports. What I love about them is that customer service is key to Teletext Holidays success. They are not an online travel agent that are difficult to talk to, on the contrary, their phone lines are open from 8am – 11pm, even on bank holidays! They are also of course fully licensed and bonded in Ireland so you can rest assured your travel arrangements will be safe and secure.

So when planning your next holiday, pay their website a visit www.teletextholidays.ie
