From boutique townhouses with treatment rooms, to lavish hotels with thermal suites, I’ve hand-picked 75 spa hotels in Ireland to suit all tastes and budgets.
I had numerous requests for recommendations for spa hotels in Ireland, but it was only when I went to research this post that I realised how many spa hotels we have in Ireland – or at least hotels that offer spa treatments. I discovered that the spa hotels in Ireland ranged from hotels offering massages and facials, to luxury resorts with thermal suites and dedicated outdoor spa experiences.
For this post I decided to include spa hotels in Ireland that offered more than just spa treatments. Most hotels below have swimming pools or dedicated thermal suites, and I have included 3-, 4-, and 5-star hotels to cater for all tastes and budgets. I hope you will find it useful and it helps you plan a spa break in Ireland.
It is important to note that hotel facilities may change from what I have listed below, so its best to check directly with the hotel if there are any amenities that you are particularly interested in. 1. Falls Hotel, Clare

I had the pleasure of staying in the Falls Hotel this summer and loved it’s swimming pool, outdoor hot tub and spa treatments. Although only a 3-star hotel, don’t let that put you off, this must be one of the best value spa hotels in Ireland.
The Falls Hotel is ideally situated in the town of Ennistymon, with a choice of bars and restaurants within walking distance. It is also within easy reach of the Wild Atlantic Way, with the Cliffs of Moher and the lively town of Doolin less than 15 minutes away. You can also help the environment by staying here – the Falls Hotel & Spa is officially a carbon neutral hotel.
2. Clifden Station House, Galway
This unique hotel was once an old railway station, and manages to combine the old brick and native oak with modern furnishings beautifully. Its location in the upmarket town of Clifden is ideal for anyone who wants shops, bars and restaurants close by, but also wants to get out and about and explore the beautiful coastline of Connemara.
The Clifden Station House boasts an 18 metre pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and gym. Renew Beauty & Spa is located adjacent to the hotel, with direct access from hotel bedroom floors, and offers a range of beauty treatments.
3. Kenmare Bay Hotel, Kerry
Located just a short stroll from one of Ireland’s prettiest towns, is the popular Kenmare Bay Hotel and Resort. There is a Leisure Centre on site, with swimming pool, sauna, steam rom and jacuzzi, as well as a range of treatment options in the Beauty Rooms. With the Ring of Kerry on your doorstep, the Kenmare Bay is a great choice for a spa break in Ireland without breaking the bank.

4. Monart, Co. Wexford

If you want to experience one of the best spa hotels in Ireland, then you have to go to Monart. You won’t find a sports facilities and nightly entertainment, but you will find Ireland’s only Destination Spa Hotel.
When you arrive you can slip on your robe and never don clothes again until you leave – yes many people even dine in their bath robes! It is one of the most relaxing hotel stays I have experienced, but you do need to plan a quiet night, with not too many night caps to experience it properly.

5. Rabbit Hotel, Antrim
The newly opened Rabbit Hotel is the laid back little sister to nearby Galgorm Resort. It is beautifully furnished and has a warm bohemian vibe. We enjoyed a few drinks in the bar here recently and I can’t wait to return. Its long awaited Spa is finally open and offers luxurious facilities in a unique setting.
Choose outdoor bathing in its show-stopping Roman bath and enjoy halotherapy in its salt chamber, and there are steam rooms, sauna, hot tubs, as well as lakeside heated loungers and relaxing cabanas. I’m convinced it won’t be long before this is one of the most popular spa hotels in Ireland.
6. Seafield Hotel & Spa Resort, Wexford
Seafield Hotel is situated on 160 acres of wooded park lands, and has a private walkway to Ballymoney Beach. If that wasn’t enough to tempt you, it was designed by Italian architect Francesco Beia, and boasts bright contemporary interiors and sea views.
The award-winning Oceo Spa has 14 treatment rooms and a thermal suite with 16-metre hydrotherapy pool, outdoor vitality pool, sunken private spa gardens and a Spa Cafe.
7. Killashee Hotel, Kildare
Set within a Victorian manor house, Killashee Hotel combines all the benefits of a country house hotel with excellent onsite facilities. The award-winning Spa offers a wide range of health and beauty treatments, as well as a hydrotherapy suite, whilst the leisure centre boasts a 25 metre swimming pool, two hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms and a fully equipped gym.
8. Castlecourt Hotel Spa & Leisure / Westport Plaza Hotel, Mayo
Well-known for their superb location in Westport town, the Castlecourt Hotel and Westport Plaza are situated next door to each other, and share the same facilities. The recently refurbished Leisure Centre boasts a 20 metre pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi, as well as a luxury Spa with thermal suite.
Enjoy the detoxifying treatments in its rock sauna, steam room and aroma grotto, before cooling down with the ice fountain. Spa Sula also boasts an outdoor jacuzzi, rock pool and a wide selection of treatment options including Rasul Treatment.
9. Hodson Bay Hotel, Westmeath
The Hodson Bay hotel is located on the shores of Lough Ree, close to Athlone Golf Course and just five minutes drive from Athlone town centre. As well as a 20 metre pool with hydrotherapy, an award-winning spa and a state-of-the-art gym, its lakeside location makes it ideal if you want to try some water-based activities.
10. Faithlegg Hotel, Waterford
Faithlegg Hotel is a restored 18th century mansion that is set in acres of woodlands overlooking the Suir Estuary. It offers all the cosy feels for the perfect spa break.
Faithlegg offers a choice of dining options too, and its health and fitness centre boasts a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, tennis courts, and treatment suites.
11. Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort, Carlow
Enjoy spa treatments with Elemis beauty products at the luxury spa, or walk in the footsteps of some of the world’s best golfers, on the championship golf course – perhaps you could do both? There are great dining options too at Mount Wolseley Hotel Spa and Golf Resort.
12. Breaffy House Hotel, Co. Mayo

We stayed in Breaffy House Resort on two occasions and had a wonderful experience. There is a large swimming pool as well as a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, and a newly renovated Spa. A new relaxation room and beauty parlour have been added to the 12 treatment rooms, which include two Dry Floatation Therapy beds and a Rasul Mud Chamber.

13. Ballyliffin Lodge & Spa, Donegal
This award-winning hotel boasts fantastic views of Malin Head and is an ideal choice if you want to escape to the unspoilt Inishowen Peninsula. With a swimming pool, steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi, as well as a Rock Crystal Spa, it is no surprise that it receives excellent reviews on TripAdvisor from previous guests, and is one of the best spa hotels in Donegal.
14. Dunboyne Castle, Meath
Dunboyne Castle Hotel & Spa is set in 21 acres of gardens and woodlands, and boasts a luxury spa with a hydrotherapy pool, an outdoor hot tub, and treatment rooms. You won’t even have to leave the hotel, as the award-winning Ivy Restaurant is the perfect choice for a relaxing meal.
Its proximity to Trim Castle, Newgrange and the Hill of Tara, as well as being less than 20 km from Dublin, means there are lots of possibilities for day trips along Ireland’s Ancient East.
15. Ferrycarrig Hotel, Wexford
The highly rated Ferrycarrig Hotel offers stylish and spacious accommodation overlooking the river Slaney. It is renowned for its great food, olympic-sized pool and active health club and Spa.
The Ferrycarrig Active Club has a state of the art gym, 20 metre swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, offers fitness classes, and offers treatments using Dermalogica skincare.

17. Delphi Hotel Resort & Spa, Galway
Delphi Resort is one of Ireland’s best known adventure resorts, but it also happens to have a luxury spa. For those who love outdoor pursuits, there is nothing better than relaxing in a thermal suite to heal any aches and pains at the end of the day.
18. Silver Tassie Hotel & Spa, Donegal
If you have been following me this summer, you will know I fell in love with Donegal when I was there in June. There is so much to see and do, whatever time you are planning on staying – double it!
However, if you just want to relax, the Silver Tassie Hotel’s Seascape Spa specialises in Donegal seaweed baths. The Silver Tassie does not have a swimming pool, but is one of the best value spa hotels in Ireland.

19. Galgorm Resort, Co. Antrim
Galgorm Spa and Golf Resort is one of Northern Ireland’s most luxurious spa hotels. Set within 163 acres of parkland with the River Maine flowing through the estate, it has all the feels of a secluded hideaway, yet is only 30 minutes from Belfast.
The riverside hot tubs and outdoor heated pools are an Instagram favourite, but there is more to Galgorm than its unique thermal village. There are numerous dining options to choose from, as well as a championship golf course.
20. The Ice House Hotel & Spa, Mayo
Funky furnishings and an eclectic design combine to make The Ice Hotel one of Ireland’s coolest hotels – excuse the pun! It has all the feels of a city hotel, yet located in the countryside on the banks of the river Moy.
Despite not having a swimming pool, the Ice House Hotel is one of the best spa hotels in Ireland. This year saw the addition of a new outdoor thermal extension, with a raised deck stretching out over the river. The new Wellness Room with a private outdoor hot tub for two, and new outside baths for shared bathing rituals are a must for couples looking for a spa break in Ireland.
21. Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa, Cork
The multi award-winning Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa Hotel is a wonderful choice for a spa break in Ireland. It is located on a stunning Blue Flag beach which has been voted Ireland’s best beach by TripAdvisor for the last three years.
The Spa boasts unique seawater therapies and is one of the best spa hotels in Ireland – it has been voted Ireland’s Leading Spa Resort at the World Travel Awards seven times!
22. Sandhouse Hotel, Donegal
The Sandhouse Hotel & Marine Spa overlooks Donegal Bay and the beautiful Rossnowlagh Beach. With award-winning cuisine and a marine spa that specialises in Irish-sourced organic seaweed (Voya), this offers a relaxing escape on the Wild Atlantic Way off peak, while the summer months attract families and surfers looking for an active holiday.
This hotel does not have a swimming pool, but with this stunning beach on your doorstep, I doubt you will miss it!
23. Dingle Skellig Hotel, Kerry
The Dingle Skellig Hotel is superbly situated overlooking Dingle Bay. You can bathe in the sea, or choose many of the other beaches close by. The hotel also has a leisure club, swimming pool, spa, and outdoor hot tub. Rated excellent on TripAdvisor, this is one of the best hotels in Dingle.
24. Shandon Hotel & Spa, Donegal
Located right by the sea on the Wild Atlantic Way, this relatively new hotel (opened in 2016) boasts stunning sea views. The leisure centre has a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, hot tub, as well as a Spa with balneotherapy bath with 190 water jets.
Combine this spa break with a visit to the Slieve League Cliffs, Donegal’s answer to the Cliffs of Moher, and one of the highest and finest marine cliffs in Europe.
25. Farnham Estate, Cavan
Farnham Estate’s award-winning spa boasts a large indoor pool, an outdoor infinity pool, mud chamber, ice fountain, forest walkways and a wide selection of treatment options.
There is also an 18-hole golf course, superb dining options and 1300 acres of grounds for you to explore. A stay in Farnham Estate will feel like a real treat, and is one of the best spa hotels in Ireland.
26. Royal Marine Hotel, Dublin
I live very close to Dun Laoghaire and love the gorgeous walks along its promenade and pier, as well as watching the brave hearts jumping into the 40ft! If you just want to relax, you can do that too – the hotel has a health club, Spa and indoor pool, as well as a choice of dining options in Hardys bar and the Dun Bistro.
The impressive Thermal Suite boasts heated marble stone beds, rock sauna, dry flotation chamber and mud chamber, and there is a wide variety of spa treatments available.
27. Knightsbrook Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort, Meath

This multi-award-winning resort hotel won Hotel of the Year and Best Hotel Spa Ireland at the 2019 Hotel Awards Ireland. It is situated in the scenic Boyne Valley – a place I love to visit, and is close to Trim Castle and Newgrange, yet only 35 minutes from Dublin. The Knightsbrook Hotel boasts an 18-hole championship golf course, as well as a leisure club with fully equipped gym on site.
The River Spa’s signature treatment is a tranquillity pro-sleep massage – an innovative experience acting on three different sensorial pathways for profound relaxation – sounds like heaven to me!
28. Maryborough Hotel, Cork
The Maryborough is one of Cork’s most loved Spa hotels. Housed in an 18th-century building, yet furnished in contemporary style, with an award-winning restaurant and state-of-the-art leisure centre – it has everything you need for a spa break in Ireland.
The luxurious Spa features a male and female Thermal Suite including a rock sauna, saunarium, ice fountain and vitality pool, and there are a variety of treatments available.
29. Kellys Resort Hotel & Spa, Wexford
If you are looking for a spa hotel in Ireland that caters superbly for families, then look no further than Kelly’s Resort Hotel in Wexford. We stayed here a few years ago and it reminded me of being on holiday in the Mediterranean, Kelly’s has a real ‘resort’ feel to it.
The Thermal Suite has a selection of hot and cold treatment areas including a rock sauna, cold plunge pool and ice fountain, and the indoor/ outdoor seawater vitality pool and heated loungers are the perfect place to relax afterwards. Kelly’s also has 11 treatment rooms including a couples suite.
Most people book the full board package and tend not to leave the hotel – with five miles of sandy beach, award winning cuisine and a host of activities for children, it’s not difficult to see why. Read my review to find out more.

30. Slieve Donard Hotel, Down
I have been fortunate to stay at the impressive Slieve Donard Hotel on a few occasions, as the Northern Ireland Travel Industry Awards are held there every year. Despite the cold November breeze, I never miss an opportunity to walk along its golden sandy beach. As well as having a superb beachfront location, it borders the Royal County Down Golf Links course and the village of Newcastle.
It also has an awarding-winning spa that was recently renovated and offers floor-to-ceiling sea views, a mosaic pool, relaxation rooms and ESPA treatments. The hotel also boasts a 20 metre swimming pool and vitality pool.
31. Kilkea Castle, Kildare
Kilkea Castle is one of the oldest inhabited Castles in Ireland. Whether you chose to stay in one of the Castle bedrooms or one of the self-catering lodges on the grounds, you will have full access to the hotel’s facilities, including the boutique spa with thermal suite, and swimming pool with swim resistant area. The thermal suite features steam and sauna cabins with showers, and an ice bucket to cool down.
32. Lusty Beg Island, Fermanagh
Lusty Beg Island is a 75-acre resort offering a relaxing self-catering stay in the heart of Fermanagh’s Lake lands. The luxury villas are reached by a five-minute ferry ride. You also have full use of the resorts swimming pool and spa.
The Island Spa features seaweed based treatments from seaweed that is hand-harvested off the coast of Ireland, as well as spa gardens, sauna and relaxation room. Lusty Beg Island is also a pet-friendly resort.

33. Johnstown Estate, Meath
Johnstown Estate is the ideal choice if you want a luxury spa break that is close to Dublin. Set within 120 acres of stunning parkland, this 1750’s Georgian residence has extensive leisure and spa facilities, golf and horse riding, as well as a choice of dining options.
Johnstown Estate invested 3.6 million in a ‘New Spa’ during lockdown, and it is now the Flagship Destination Spa for Elemis & Gharieni in Ireland. A new Rooftop Experience has been added to the already impressive Thermal Suite, and there are 15 treatment rooms, including a Rasul mud and mineral treatment chamber, and a couples room.
New Gharieni relaxing water beds and in-spa dining complete the luxurious spa experience, making this one of the best spa hotels in Ireland.
34. Kilronan Castle, Roscommon
When you drive through the medieval gates of the 18th century Kilronan Castle Estate & Spa, you are bound to be impressed by its beauty. The 50 acres of gardens, woodlands, and lake also add to its fairytale like appearance.
Originally a royal family home, it has been transformed into a luxurious Irish castle hotel. Expect four poster beds and antique furniture, as well as fine dining and a luxury spa. You will be treated to an award-winning thermal suite, saunas, steam rooms and Rasul, as well as a swimming pool and treatment rooms.
35. Kinsale Hotel & Spa, Cork
Set in 90 acres of woodlands, yet only a five-minute drive to the vibrant city of Kinsale, this hotel offers the best of both worlds. Guests love its peaceful location with panoramic views over Oysterhaven Bay, with the added advantage of being able explore Ireland’s most colourful town.
The Kinsale Hotel has a health club on site with 20 metre swimming pool, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, as well as a fully equipped gym and fitness classes, and a Spa offering a wide range of treatment options.
36. Midlands Park Hotel, Laois
The Midlands Park Hotel is located in the centre of Portlaoise and has a health and fitness club with a 22 metre pool, spa and fitness centre. There is a choice of dining options available, including the award-winning Kelly’s Steakhouse.
The Midlands Park Hotel is ideally located to explore the many attractions in Laois, Kildare and Kilkenny, and must be one of the best value spa hotels in Ireland.
37. Brooklodge Hotel, Wicklow
BrookLodge is set in its own unique village and is one of Ireland’s most loved hotels. Brooklodge is famous for its delicious organic food – in fact it won Hotel Restaurant of the Year and Culinary Hotel of the Year, but is also renowned for its Spa and Wellness experiences.
The Wells Spa is an adult-only area that offers treatments from organic product ranges such as Voya and Babor. Guests can avail of the Serail Mud Chamber, Aroma Baths, Hammam Massage Room, Flotation Room, Finnish Baths, Double Treatment Rooms, as well as various Jacuzzi & water features, indoor pool, heated loungers and outdoor hot tub.
38. Knockranny House Hotel & Spa, Mayo
Previously voted as AA Irish hotel of the year, Knockranny House Hotel & Spa is renowned for its warm welcome, stunning location and superb cuisine. Set in secluded grounds with views over Croagh Patrick and Clew Bay, yet only a seven minute walk to Westport town, its location is superb.
The onsite Spa Salveo features a vitality pool with hydrotherapy stations, various relaxation areas, a fitness suite and treatment rooms, including a Serail mud-chamber and dry floatation beds.
39. Eccles Hotel, Cork
Eccles is one of the few spa hotels in Ireland that doesn’t have a swimming pool, but I think these outdoor hot tubs and its stunning location in Glengariff, more than make up for it. West Cork is one of my favourite parts of Ireland and Eccles is practically a landmark in this area.
It is a Heritage hotel, steeped in 250 years of history, with all the modern comforts of a spa with a clifftop thermal area, as well as great dining options.
40. Carton House, Kildare
Following an extensive redesign, Carton House reopened this year and is now Ireland’s only Fairmont managed hotel. Officially still a four-star hotel, I’m sure it won’t be long until it is classed as five-star.
The Carton House Spa is housed in the 18th century mill building, and boasts an 18 metre swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, as well as a two-storey gymnasium. Make sure to avail of one of the carefully chosen treatments, with luxury brands such as Margaret Dabbs and Aromatherapy Associates.
41. Killarney Plaza Hotel & Spa, Kerry
The Killarney Plaza Hotel is adjacent to Killarney National Park and offers stylish bedrooms, a choice of dining options, as well as a Spa and Leisure Centre. The Leisure Centre features a 15 metre swimming pool, whirlpool and gym, while the spa features six treatment rooms and a relaxation room.

42. Connemara Sands Hotel & Spa, Galway
With private access to the Blue Flag Mannin Bay beach, the Connemara Sands Hotel is one of the best beach hotels in Ireland. Its crystal clear waters, fine food and a Voya seaweed Spa ensure its its excellent reviews on TripAdvisor. This hotel does not have a swimming pool, but with that beach on your doorstep, I doubt you will miss it!
43. Redcastle Hotel & Spa, Donegal
The Redcastle Hotel offers superb value to explore the Inishowen Peninsula. However, with a waterfront location, 9-hole golf course, leisure centre with pool, steam room, sauna and Thalasso Spa, you may find it difficult to leave.
Make sure to seek out Kinnagoe Bay and Mamore Gap, two of my hidden gems in Ireland, and spend some time exploring Malin Head. You could also combine this spa break in Donegal with a trip to Derry city, it is less than 30 minutes drive from the hotel.

44. Galmont Hotel, Galway
The centrally located Galmont Hotel is located just a few minutes walk from Eyre Square and the train station, so it is an ideal choice for anyone who doesn’t want to drive. The award-winning Spa offers a wide range of treatments, including their popular ‘float’ treatments, as well as a thermal suite with relaxation loungers and rock saunas.
There is also a swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and outdoor hot tub – the Galmont Hotel is arguably one of the most popular Spa Hotels in Galway.
45. Bunratty Castle Hotel, Clare
One of Clare’s newest 4-star hotels, you can expect modern decor and well equipped bedrooms, as well as an authentic Thai Angsana Spa. Relax in it’s 17 metre indoor pool, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, hydrotherapy leisure bubble pool, or enjoy one of the many treatments available.
The dining options are good too with Fibber McGee’s Steakhouse proving popular for lunch or dinner, and the library offering afternoon tea.
46. Clayton Whites Hotel, Wexford
Enjoying a town centre location with a reputation for great service and facilities, the Clayton Whites Hotel is one of Wexford’s best known hotels. The Tranquillity Spa has a thermal suite with a hydrotherapy pool, steam room, sauna, laconium, lifestyle showers, tepidarium, heated loungers, and plunge pool.
There are over forty different treatments available and access to the Thermal Suites is complimentary with every treatment of 55 minutes or over. If you just want to relax by the pool, you can do that too. The Clayton Whites Leisure Centre boasts a 20-metre swimming pool and luxurious poolside sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi.
47. Spencer Hotel, Dublin
Enjoy river views from your balcony, delicious cocktails from the lobby bar, and a swim and Spa experience in this modern 4-Star Dublin hotel. The Spencer Health Club boasts an 18-metre swimming pool, steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi and fully equipped gym, and the Viola Day Spa offers a wide selection of treatments.
The Spencer’s Hotel location is great too, with EPIC Museum just minutes away, and Dublin city centre’s shopping streets within walking distance. The Luas tram line stops outside the door, offering a five-minute connection to Connolly Station, should you wish to explore Dublin’s suburbs, or go further afield.
48. Radisson Blu Hotel, Sligo
Located just minutes drive from both Sligo City and the seaside at Rosses Point, the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa offers the best of both worlds. Its leisure club includes an 18-metre swimming pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room, while the Sólás Spa offers a host of treatment options and a lavish Thermal Suite with Razul, steam room, sauna and ice fountain.
49. No. 1 Pery Square, Limerick
This beautiful Georgian townhouse is located just 5 minutes walk to the city centre and is rated the number 1 place to stay in Limerick on TripAdvisor. Whilst it does not have a swimming pool, its luxury Spa in the original 1830’s basement vaults certainly compensates for that.
You will find an extensive range of organic and holistic treatments as well as a Spa exprience with Irish mist showers, a Finnish style sauna, herbal cocoon and foot baths, as well as a snooze room to relax in afterwards.
50. Westport Coast Hotel, Mayo
Westport Coast Hotel is beautifully situated at the waterfront overlooking Clew Bay, and just over 3 km from the centre of Westport.
At Spa Veda you will find a selection of treatments from Kerala in India, using Ayurvedic Medicine and therapies, as well as a thermal suite with rock sauna, steam room, ice fountain and lifestyle pool. A 17 metre indoor pool, kids pool and sauna are also available.

51. Park Hotel Kenmare, Kerry
Francis Brennan’s Park Hotel is practically a landmark in Kerry. With superb dining options, a 25 metre pool, cinema and luxury spa, you may find it difficult to leave. The SAMAS Spa offers a calendar of complimentary events and classes to guests, but the three-hour SÁMAS Experience should not be missed.
It is recommended you spend your first hour in the Thermal Suite, with steam rooms, sauna, outdoor heated vitality pool, and ice fountain. This should be followed by a holistic treatment, before spending the last hour enjoying refreshments and resting in the Relaxation Room.
52. Heritage Hotel, Laois
The luxurious Heritage Hotel is undoubtedly one of the best hotels in Ireland’s Ancient East. With an on-site leisure centre, award-winning spa, and a choice of dining options, it has all you need for a luxury escape in Ireland.
The Heritage Spa Experience offers a series of heat and cooling experiences in its thermal suite, including ice fountains, hydrotherapy pools, steam rooms and saunas.
A 15 metre swimming pool and 5km walking track is also available in the hotel’s health club, and there are 14 treatment rooms offering a wide range of treatments.
53. The K Club, Kildare
The K Club is one of Ireland’s top golf and spa resorts, and offers a choice of bars, restaurants and fine dining. The K Spa compliments the hotel beautifully and has a 16.5 metre swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam rooms, as well as a dedicated fitness facility housing a gym, juice bar and pilates studio with personal trainers.
54. Culloden Estate & Spa, Antrim
The Culloden Estate and Spa was originally built as an official palace for the Bishops of Down, and is arguably the most luxurious hotel in Northern Ireland. The health club offers a swimming pool, steam room, and state-of-the-art fitness suite with a juice bar and a fitness consultation clinic.
The recently extended and refurbished Spa includes a vitality pool with garden views, a larger steam room, and offers a wide selection of ESPA treatments.
55. Merrion Hotel, Dublin
The Merrion Spa & Health Club is a welcome addition to one of Dublin’s best hotels. The original 18 metre infinity pool remains, but they have added six treatment rooms, a steam room, sauna and gym. There is also a new hair salon, operated by award-winning hairdresser, Ciaran Nevin. Enjoy some juice in the Vitality Club Bar afterwards, or a glass of bubbly in the relaxation room.
56. G Hotel, Galway
Espa at the g is Galway’s only 5-star Spa. Designed by Philip Treacy, this two storey Spa has a Thermal Suite with vitality hydro pool, steam room, rock sauna, ice fountain and heated loungers. The 12 treatment rooms offer a wide selection of treatment options, and the rooftop bamboo terrace is the perfect place to relax afterwards.
57. Killarney Park Hotel, Kerry
The Killarney Park Hotel is one of the few family owned and run five-star hotels in Ireland. Located in the heart of Killarney Town with the National Park on your doorstep, you won’t find a better located 5-star hotel in Killarney. The Killarney Park Hotel is affiliated to Leading Hotels of the World, and voted as is the top rated hotel in Killarney on TripAdvisor.
The Spa offers Elemis treatments and it’s Health & Fitness Suite has a 20 metre pool, caldarium, bubble pool, hot tub relaxation room and gym.
58. Adare Manor, Limerick
The multi award-winning Adare Manor is one of Ireland’s most luxurious hotels. Be prepared to be astonished by the 840 acres of pristine parkland, the lavish interiors ,and the award-winning spa. This luxury five-star resort also boasts the Michelin star restaurant, The Oak Room. If you are looking to spoil yourself, or a loved one, then look no further than Adare Manor.
59. The Europe Hotel, Killarney
Surrounded by the Lakes of Killarney, with a decadent spa and award-winning dining options, I am told it is THE place to stay in Killarney. The outdoor terrace in the Brasserie Restaurant offers beautiful lake views, as does the fine dining Panorama Restaurant.
ESPA at The Europe is an award-winning Spa with a thermal suite, outdoor vitality pool, indoor pool, relaxation areas, and a host of treatment options.
There are many room types to choose from, but for the ultimate bucket list experience opt for a superior lake view room. These bright spacious rooms are south facing, and have a private balcony with outdoor furniture to enjoy the magnificent lake views.
60. Lyrath Estate, Kilkenny

Set amidst 170 acres of parkland, Lyrath Estate is a luxury hotel with spa, indoor infinity pool, and two award-winning restaurants, yet only five minutes drive to Kilkenny city.
The spa boasts a thermal suites with hydrotherapy pool and heated massage beds, and there are a host of luxurious treatments available.
61. Muckross Hotel & Spa, Killarney
Muckross Park Hotel & Spa blends traditional style with contemporary decor perfectly. Set amongst 25,000 acres of the Killarney National Park, all of Killarney’s highlights are right on your doorstep. If you can manage to tear yourself away from Killarney’s stunning scenery, the spa and dining options at the hotel are superb.
The award-winning Spa at Muckross boasts as Vitality Suite, thermal area, herbal sauna, steam room, outdoor hot tub, as well as a wide variety of treatment options.
62. Mount Juliet Estate, Kilkenny

Mount Juliet Estate consists of two residences, the original Georgian Manor House and the chic Hunter’s Yard. Why not treat yourself to a meal in the Michelin-starred Lady Helen restaurant, and make it a stay to remember.

63. Lough Erne Resort, Fermanagh
We stayed in Lough Erne resort a few years ago and loved it. It’s stunning location on a 600-acre peninsula was just one of the reasons, the top quality food and service were others. As well as two Championship Golf Courses it also boasts a unique Thai inspired Spa.
Enjoy one of the signature spa treatments such as a Traditional Thai Massage or Golfers Tonic, in one of its ten Thai inspired treatment rooms. An infinity pool, Light Therapy Sauna, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi complete the experience.

The Shelbourne is not only one of our top luxury hotels in Ireland, but it is one of Dublin’s landmarks. Located right on St. Stephen’s Green, it has been the centre of the city’s social and cultural life for 200 years.
It also has impressive dining options, as well as a health club, spa, and 19 metre swimming pool. The Spa has seven treatment rooms, a relaxation room and thermal facilities.
65. Aghadoe Heights Hotel, Killarney, Kerry
The Aghadoe Heights Hotel is superbly located overlooking the Lakes of Killarney. The hotel boasts two restaurants, two bars, a leisure centre with swimming pool, and luxury spa.
The Spa offers stunning lake views and has won numerous awards. Facilities include a thermal suites with heated mosaic loungers, hammam, rock sauna ,and treatment rooms using Voya products.
66. Hayfield Manor, Co. Cork
The prestigious Hayfield Manor hotel has all the charm of a country house, yet is located just a short stroll from Cork City. However, with two award-winning restaurants and the Beautique Spa with indoor heated pool, you may not want to leave.
Hayfield Manor is an independent family owned hotel whose mission is to exceed guests expectations. It seems it has succeeded, as it was won numerous awards including ‘Ireland’s Best Welcome’ at the 2020 Irish Independent Reader Travel Awards.
The Spa features an indoor heated pool, steam room and outdoor jacuzzi, and there are seven treatment rooms offering a wide range of treatment options.

The Intercontinental is one of Dublin’s best 5-Star Resort hotels. I had the pleasure of staying here last Christmas and loved it. The Wellness area with 14 metre heated pool as well as the award winning ESPA is the perfect place to relax, before enjoying a delicious 3-course meal in the Seasons Restaurant or Lobby Lounge.
68. Ashford Castle, Mayo
Is there anything more romantic than staying in a 13th Century castle? I recall driving across the moat and seeing Ashford Castle for the first time – it was like being inside a fairytale.
The luxury Spa at Ashford Castle was awarded ‘Ireland’s Best Hotel Spa’ in 2020 for the 5th year in a row by World Spa Awards. Its lavish interior includes three chandeliers, and the terrace area offers beautiful views over the lake.
69. Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa, Wicklow
I’ve been fortunate to stay in Powerscourt Hotel on a few occasions. I’m not sure if its the location in Powerscourt Estate, or the superb facilities on offer, but I always feel like I am miles away from home, despite the fact that it is less than an hour from my house.
I have enjoyed casual dining in the Sugar Loaf Lounge as well as dinner in the Sika restaurant, but it is the 20 metre Swarovski crystal-lit swimming pool, and the luxury ESPA that blows me away every time.
The combination of ESPA treatments, Hamman Suite, sauna and steam rooms, as well as the spectacular pool, it is no surprise that it is regarded as one of the best spa hotels in Ireland.
70. Castlemartyr Resort, Cork
Set on 220 acres, with a 17th century country manor house adjacent to the ruins of an 800-year-old-castle, this super hotel has four different restaurants to choose from, a swimming pool, and luxury spa.
The Spa at Castlemartyr Resort boasts seven private treatment rooms and two couples suites. There are separate male and female relaxation and vitality lounges, an indoor heated pool, steam room, sauna and jet pool, as well as a host of treatment options with ESPA and Germaine de Capuccini therapies.

The Cliff House Hotel is regarded as one of the best boutique spa hotels in Ireland, and I couldn’t agree more. Located in the small fishing village of Ardmore, this is the ultimate romantic hideaway.
I had a superb meal in its Michelin-star restaurant – in fact it one of the best meals I have ever eaten. Its setting, perched on a cliff over looking the Irish Sea is absolutely breathtaking.

A 15 metre indoor infinity-edge swimming pool, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering sea views, is the focal point of the spa, however the outdoor area is just as impressive – the relaxation terrace boasts a heated jacuzzi and two stone baths. Inside you will find a sauna, steam room and four treatment rooms.

72. Fota Island Resort & Spa, Cork
I am a big lover of Fota Island Resort – its a super family resort. I have visited many times, and if you are looking for a family friendly hotel with a spa on site- then this is a great choice.
The spa features a hydrotherapy pool, with Ireland’s only walking river, which is renowned for its assistance in healing sports and fatigue related injuries. You will also find an 18-metre pool, gym and 18 different treatment rooms.

73. Sheen Falls Lodge, Co. Kerry
Sheen Falls Lodge enjoys an idyllic location overlooking Sheen Waterfalls, as well as being within walking distance to the picturesque town of Kenmare.
A Relais & Chateaux Hotel, it boasts fine food and wine, as well as a host of activities including a spa with indoor heated pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Five treatment rooms, including a couple’s room, wet room, beauty rooms and relaxation rooms are also available.
74. Lough Eske Castle, Co. Donegal
Lough Eske Castle is steeped in history and romance. Dating back to the 15th century and set within 43 acres of native woodland on the shores of Lough Eske, it certainly has the wow factor. It blends its historic past with contemporary luxury beautifully, and has a luxury spa with a swimming pool for the ultimate relaxing break.
