Luxury Multi Centre Holidays in the Indian Ocean

Kuramathi_IslandAerials-22

Luxury holidays in the Indian Ocean with a little adventure thrown in – the perfect holiday combination.

Barefoot luxury in the Indian Ocean is about as good as it gets when it comes to dream holidays, but sometimes it is good to combine a little adventure with beach time. Experience an action packed few days in Cape Town or Dubai before arriving by seaplane to your water villa. Think island hopping in the Caribbean sounds pretty good? Try Island hopping in the Seychelles instead! These are just some of the bespoke luxury holidays in the Indian Ocean that Hayes and Jarvis offer – there are so much more. They offer a staggering 36 different holiday styles in 60 destinations around the world. Read my blog post about Hayes and Jarvis luxury long haul holidays from Ireland, and here are four of their luxury holidays in the Indian Ocean to whet your appetite!

3 Nights Dubai & 7 Nights Sri Lanka, Including Flights & 5 Star Hotels,  from €1829!

Combine the glitz and glamour of Dubai with one of the Indian Ocean’s best kept secrets, Sri Lanka. This is the perfect multi-centre holiday! Visit the tallest building in the world, shop in the world’s largest shopping mall and spend a day in the Arabian desert. Adrenaline junkies could try dune bashing or sand skiing while romantics will love star gazing. Whatever you choose, a visit to the Dubai desert is a must! Of course no trip to Dubai would be complete without visiting some of it’s stunning beaches.

Dubai, one of the top ten holiday destinations for 2016 by The Travel Expert

You will be staying at the 5* Taj Dubai hotel. Considered one of the best hotels to stay in Dubai by tripadvisor, it is situated in one of Dubai’s prime locations. With jaw dropping views of the Burj Khalifa and the dancing fountain, this sophisticated hotel is just minutes from the Dubai Mall and the glamorous nightlife Dubai has to offer.

After three action packed days in Dubai you will fly onwards to Sri Lanka for seven nights. I went to Sri Lanka last year and fell in love with it. I climbed Sigiriya, a 660 foot tall rock fortress, visited the tea plantations, went on an elephant safari and still had plenty of beach time – and this was all over six days! Voted the best place to visit in 2019 by Lonely Planet, once you go you will see why.

Sri Lanka

In true Hayes and Jarvis style, you will be staying in another 5* luxury hotel, the Taj Bentota Resort & Spa. This contemporary hotel offers fine dining, an authentic Jiva Spa and stunning views of the Indian Ocean. You can organise excursions to some of Sri Lanka’s highlights from here or choose to relax and enjoy this lavish hotel.

South Africa and Mauritius: 3 Nights Cape Town & 7 Nights, All Inclusive in Mauritius, Including Flights, Transfers & 5 Star Hotels, from €3049

South Africa and Mauritius, what a superb combination! Spend three nights in one of the world’s best cities before relaxing in a luxury five star all-inclusive resort for seven days in Mauritius. Cape Town is one of my favourite cities, I have been twice and would go back again in a heart beat. Climb Table Mountain, drive the Cape Peninsula and visit Robben Island – these are just three of the ‘top things to do in Cape Town’. You will be staying in the legendary 5* Cape Grace Hotel. Located just minutes from the famous Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, this is perfectly located to explore Cape Town’s tourist marina and the cultural hot spot of Bo Kaap.

cape town

Cape Town is a hard place to follow but a week in the luxurious all inclusive Heritage Awali Golf & Spa Resort might do the trick! They boast ‘the best all-inclusive resort in Mauritius’ and who am I to argue with that? Recently renovated, this five-star resort is located in the unspoilt south of the island. Facilities include an 18 hole golf course overlooking the Indian Ocean, a luxury spa and fitness centre and three swimming pools. You will be staying in a deluxe beachfront room and with all meals and drinks included in the cost of your stay, you can sit back, relax and enjoy your stay without thinking of the cost!

Maldives: Kuramathi Island Resort, Water Villa with Jacuzzi, Select All Inclusive, from €3199

You only have to mention the Maldives and the word ‘paradise’ springs to mind. Kuramathi Island IS paradise, but don’t just take my word for it, check out the thousands of reviews on tripadvisor that say so too! Numerous celebrities have holidayed here and it is one of the most sought after resorts in the Maldives for Irish holidaymakers. Arriving by seaplane is all part of the luxury travel experience, as is staying in one of the resorts’ water villas. Built on stilts directly over the lagoon, these luxury villas come with a jacuzzi and direct access to the Indian Ocean.

A holiday like this calls for complete indulgence, so the last thing you want to do is worry about how much spending money you will need. The best way to achieve this is by availing of the ‘Select All Inclusive’ arrangement in Kuramathi Island Resort. Not only are all meals and drinks included in the cost of your stay but the Select All Inclusive allows you to dine in ANY of the nine à la carte restaurants on the island. You can enjoy a selection of bottled wines with your meal as well as premium drinks at all times during your stay. You can also avail of the many water sports, including one Sunset Cruise and one trip to the neighbouring island Rasdhoo during your stay. Hayes and Jarvis have included a water villa and an upgrade to Select All Inclusive in the cost of this package.

Island Hopping in the Seychelles: 12 Nights, Including Flights & Hotels, from €3599

Island hopping in the Caribbean or even Greece sounds pretty cool to me, but island hopping in the Seychelles is on another level. If you want to do something that is NOT on the top 10 lists of holidays to take in 2019 – this has to be it! A holiday in the Seychelles have to be one of the most idyllic you could ever take. Spectacular beaches, exotic rainforests and amazing wildlife – need I say more?

Hayes and Jarvis have arranged this amazing package itinerary to paradise that takes in three of the Seychelles most idyllic islands. Visit one of the world’s best beaches in Praslin Island, feed the giant tortoises in La Digue and explore the country’s capital, Victoria, on Mahe Island.

In all three islands you will be staying in luxury hotels that receive excellent reviews on tripadvisor. Relax on one of the hammocks in the boutique hotel Coco de Mer in Praslin, stay in your own garden villa in Le Domaine de L’Orangeraie, La Digue and enjoy your own private plunge pool in the Carana Beach Hotel in Mahe. This amazing three-centre holiday includes all transfers and internal flights.

12 Day South African Holiday: Cape Town, The Garden Route & Safari €1969, Incl Flights, Hotels & Car Hire!

lion-2327225_1280

This twelve Day South African holiday combines the iconic city of Cape Town with a road trip along the Garden Route and a two-night stay in a private Game Reserve.

South Africa is one of my favourite holiday destinations. I have been there twice – and I rarely go back to the same place! In fact I would go back again in a heartbeat. Where else can you find stunning scenery, captivating cities and wonderful wildlife all on one holiday? The cost of living is so low, there is only a two hour time difference (so no jet-lag) and there is so much to do. From city breaks to safaris, wine tasting to shark cage diving, and let’s not forget the amazing beaches  – a South African holiday has got it all.

South African holiday

I have teamed up with Hayes & Jarvis, the luxury long haul specialists, who offer bespoke holidays to South Africa and beyond. They have been tailor making dream holidays for over 65 years and are a sister company to American Holidays. You can read more about my thoughts on Hayes & Jarvis long haul holidays from Ireland here. They feature many South African holidays on their website, but I liked this 12 day South African holiday because it is similar to the trip that I took earlier this year, and also happens to be malaria free. I liked the price too 😉 – €2299 including flights, hotels, transfers, car-hire and all meals on safari, this is great value for such a superb trip. I have outlined the itinerary below, but bear in mind you can add or change it to suit your requirements, simply talk to the expert team at Hayes & Jarvis and they will tailor make an itinerary for you.

Cape Town : 3 Nights

Your first port of call is the iconic city of Cape Town where you will be staying in the 5* Hilton Cape Town City Centre hotel.  Located right in the centre of town, just minutes from the colourful houses of Bo Kaap and with easy access to the Waterfront, this hotel is highly rated on tripadvisor and ideally located to explore all that Cape Town has to offer. Climb Table Mountain, visit Robben Island and drive the Cape Peninsula Drive,  there is so much to do here – you can even paraglide off Signal Hill if you are feeling adventurous!

Hermanus :  2 Nights

You will then set off on one of the world’s best road trips along the Garden Route. Your first stop is Hermanus, the hub of South Africa’s Whale Coast. If you want to go whale watching, this is the place to do it. Note whale watching is seasonal ( optimum time June – December ) so if you are planning a visit outside this time, talk to the staff in Hayes & Jarvis and they will recommend an alternative stop for you. Perhaps a visit to the Winelands? 🍷You will be staying in the highly rated Auberge Burgundy Guesthouse, which is located in the historic centre of Hermanus. With craft shops, art galleries and restaurants on your doorstep and a swimming pool on site, this friendly guesthouse is a great choice to experience South Africa’s Whale Coast.

Oudtshoorn:  2 Nights

Leave Hermanus behind to drive onwards to Oudsthoorn, in the Klein Karoo area of South Africa. Renowned as being the ostrich capital of the world, it actually offers so much more. There are several wildlife safaris available here. You can meet meerkats, go cage diving with crocodiles (who knew that was even a thing?) or visit the hugely impressive Cango Caves – Africa’s largest show cave system.  You will be staying in the De Opstal Country Lodge, a restored lodge offering a unique stay in original farm buildings, dating back to the 1830’s.

South African holiday

Knysna: 2 Nights

This small town is one of the most popular on the Garden Route. With stunning beaches, a trendy harbour and a temperate climate, it is a great place to stop at any time of year. There are countless outdoor activities available, from kayaking to paragliding but if you just want to chill out and relax, head down to the waterfront area and enjoy some nice cocktails with seaviews. You will be staying in the 5* St. James of Kynsna Country House Hotel. Located right on the lagoon, this family run hotel offers luxury suites with superb service.

South African holiday

Kariega Game Reserve : 2 Nights

Saving the best for last, you will spend your final two nights in a private game reserve on the Eastern Cape. There is nothing like being in the African bush searching for wildlife, wondering if you will see the elusive leopard or a herd of elephants. It is one of the most incredible travel experiences I have had and it is world’s apart from every day life. Catching up with fellow travellers over dinner, wondering if they saw the same wildlife, and listening to stories from the expert rangers will fill you with lifelong memories.

Set in over 10,000 hectares of African wilderness, the family run and owned Kariega private game reserve offers ‘Big 5’ game viewing in an authentic African setting. You can enjoy two game drives per day or choose a river cruise, canoeing adventure or even a guided bush walk. You will be staying in a one bedroom chalet in Kariega’s Main Lodge, which has been expertly integrated into the surrounding bush and offers a large private viewing deck. It also features all mod cons such as an en-suite bathroom, satellite TV and air conditioning in the bedroom.

This itinerary is just one of many of the South African holidays that Hayes & Jarvis feature. They will also tailor make any itinerary to suit you. If you want some more beach time, wine time or want an adrenaline filled trip – let their expert staff know and they will arrange it for you.

Hayes & Jarvis – Offering Luxury, Long Haul Holidays From Ireland & Lots More…

maldives

Offering luxury long haul holidays sounds pretty impressive anyway, but as I gazed longingly at the Hayes and Jarvis holiday brochures, I suddenly realised they offer so much more…..

Fancy volcano hopping in Costa Rica? Always wanted to see the gorillas in Rwanda, or is relaxing on a beach in Rodrigues Island more your style? Regardless of your holiday preference, I’d wager you are wondering where Rodrigues Island is right now! I must confess, I wondered too. Rodrigues Island is located in the Indian Ocean, a ninety-minute flight from Mauritius and is just one of the many paradise islands that Hayes and Jarvis feature.

Hayes and Jarvis holiday

Considering I search almost all of my travel online, I was surprised at how much I absolutely loved reading the Hayes and Jarvis holiday brochures! I came across so many destinations that I hadn’t really thought about visiting. Their brochures are so easy to read and it is refreshing to have everything you need in the one place. In minutes, I read how best to spend 48 hours in Bangkok, got expert tips about places off the beaten track in Japan and found out the best safari holidays for families. I love the ‘things to see and do’ section in each destination and how it tells you how long you should spend in each place, with possible multi-centre options.

hayes and jarvis holiday

For those of you who want to search online, their website is great too! They offer a staggering 36 different holiday styles in 60 destinations. It is common to see adventure, family and wellness holidays categories but Hayes and Jarvis go one step further. You can select foodie holidays, glamping holidays, cycling holidays, solo holidays, cruises, even hotels with swim-up rooms! They also have dedicated family safari holidays, rail, motorhome and sailing holidays as well as escorted tours and many more options. So whether you are a culture vulture or thrill seeker – Hayes and Jarvis can arrange the right holiday for you. My husband was reading this and couldn’t believe that they offered motorcycle holidays – they really cater for everyone!

Where do Hayes & Jarvis travel to?

When I think of the Indian Ocean, it is automatically Mauritius, Maldives and Seychelles that spring to mind. Hayes and Jarvis also feature holidays in Reunion Island, Mozambique, Madagascar, and yes, even Rodrigues Island! You name it, Hayes and Jarvis can bring you there. Hayes and Jarvis feature far flung destinations such as the Galapagos Islands and Bhutan that until now, you may have thought were not bookable from Ireland.

hayes and jarvis holiday

They also feature unusual resorts in traditional destinations such as Thailand. As much as I hate to admit it, I hadn’t even heard of some of the ‘Undiscovered Gems’ in Thailand that they feature.  So if you want to go off the beaten track and try ‘Tree Pod dining’ or enjoy an outdoor movie in the ‘jungle-enshrouded auditorium of cascading cushions’ – you can book it with Hayes and Jarvis. I should point out that Hayes and Jarvis offer holidays in main-stream destinations too, so if you fancy combining  Cambodia with Vietman, or travelling along the Garden Route in South Africa, Hayes and Jarvis can arrange that too!

hayes and jarvis holiday

It is not only unique and unusual destinations that Hayes and Jarvis feature, they also offer unique hotels all over the world. You can star gaze from your very own bubble tent in Mauritius or sleep in a tree-house in Kruger National Park . Want to sleep in an underwater room in the Indian Ocean? Hayes and Jarvis can arrange that too!

hayes and jarvis holiday

Consider yourself a ‘foodie’? Did you know that Lima has three of the top 50 restaurants in the world? Hayes and Jarvis offer a host of ‘foodie holidays’. Whether you fancy street food in Seoul, fresh sushi in Japan or a wine tram through Franschhoek, Hayes and Jarvis have it covered. If you prefer to take things at your own pace, you can choose one of their self drive holidays. Whether you choose the Great Ocean Road, the Pacific Coast Highway or the Garden Route, they will arrange as little, or as much as you like, on your road trip.

hayes and jarvis holiday

Personally I love that having kids doesn’t mean that adventure holidays have to stop! Their choice of family holidays in the Indian Ocean, America and South East Asia means you can still experience a little luxury in far flung destinations, with kids in tow. They even cater for hard to please teenagers! I’m not sure I’m ready for the motorhome across route 66 yet, but maybe next year….

So who are Hayes & Jarvis ?

Although a relatively new name to Ireland, Hayes and Jarvis are a sister brand to American Holidays and have been tailor making luxury holidays for 65 years. Hayes and Jarvis are based in Duke Street in Dublin and have a wonderful office where you can enquire and book holidays and consult with their expert staff. They also offer an appointment service so if you are planning a special trip or just want undivided attention – they can arrange that for you.

They have won a plethora of awards, including World’s leading tour operator, best long haul tour operator as well as individual awards for best holiday company to various destinations – you can see all of their awards here. One thing that I always watch out for when researching online are reviews from customers. With a whopping 4.9 out of 5 on Feefo – that is a remarkable achievement and speaks volumes!

Why should I book with Hayes & Jarvis?

So you might think that bespoke luxury holidays come at a premium…. Not necessarily! I was pleasantly surprised at some of the holiday offers available with Hayes and Jarvis. They have last minute offers to Thailand and Sri Lanka from €1599, including flights and luxury hotels, as well as complimentary upgrades and exclusive offers in a wide selection of hotels worldwide. As one of the UK’s largest long haul tour operators, Hayes and Jarvis have access to preferential rates from most airlines and hotels around the world, which they pass these on to their customers. In most cases they will be able to offer you special rates that you won’t be able to find anywhere else. You will also have the pleasure of dealing with experts who will be able to recommend the right holiday to suit your requirements. On top of this you have the security of a booking with a licensed and bonded travel agency, who are available 24/7 if the need arises.
