With Summer holidays just around the corner, I have highlighted family hotel deals in Ireland based on two-night stays on various dates during July and August. I have four star hotels as well as some self catering options, so there should be something here to suit all tastes and budgets.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Midlands Park Hotel in December and loved its family friendly facilities, modern decor and great dining options, particularly Kelly’s Steakhouse. It is located in the centre of Portlaoise and has a health and fitness club with a 22 metre pool, spa and fitness centre.

I have chosen rates with free cancellation, but if you want to book a non-refundable room, the rates should be even less. We stayed in Breaffy House Hotel on a few occasions, and love it family atmosphere and superb facilities. It is situated on 101 acres and there is a spa and swimming pool on site. It is also a great base to discover to some of Mayo’s top attractions, including Westport, Achill, Croagh Patrick and DownPatrick Head.
 

 

 
I fell in love with Mayo’s beaches, and if you fancy cycling, the Great Western Greenway is only a 30 minute drive away.
