I’ve searched the web so you don’t have to! My best travel deals from Ireland include last minute holidays, short breaks, summer holidays, cruise deals, and super staycations.

Best last minute: A week in Rhodes

Rhodes is one of my favourite Greek Islands. There is so much to do, from the stunning Colossus of Rhodes to the charming hilltop town of Lindos, and a boat trip to Simi is also a must do!

I found a great deal to the charming Amfitriti Hotel. This is an ideal choice for someone looking for a peaceful location, but also want the option of exploring the nearby town of Lindos, pictured above. There is a pool and lounge onsite and the hotel is rated as Excellent on TripAdvisor.

Price for a seven-night stay from Dublin on the 17th of June including flights, transfers and checked baggage is only €432 per person.

Best overnight escape: Clare in June / July

Enjoy an overnight escape at the 4-star Killaloe Hotel & Spa for just €65 per person including breakfast, a bottle of wine to share when dining at O’Brien’s, €20pp Spa Credit and a late checkout.

Want to stay a bit longer and explore Clare’s rugged coastline – the price is €125 per person for two nights – a saving of 47%! This offer is valid for stays on selected dates until 6th July.

Best summer sun: Lanzarote in August

Lanzarote is one of the most popular holiday destinations from Ireland, and I’ve found a deal in one of its most popular hotels! The Las Costas Hotel is located right on the beach andt also boasts a pool with stunning sea views. There is also a snack bar, cocktail bar, gym and Spa. Check out the reviews on TripAdvisor if you still need convincing.

Price for a seven-night stay from Dublin with flights, transfers, checked baggage, and breakfast and evening meals is €875 on the 28th of August. Price is €834 from Shannon on the 31st of August, or €864 on the 27th of August from Cork.

Best family holiday: Fuerteventura in July

We enjoyed a relaxing family holiday in Fuerteventura over Easter holidays and there is still some great value available for family holidays there this summer. Return flights are available from Dublin on the 19th of July for €300 per person, or Shannon on the 16th of July for €417 per person.

A seven night stay in the highly rated Fuentepark apartments is just €777, based on a family of four sharing. Situated in the heart of Corralejo, the location couldn’t be better! I have lots more recommendations on where to stay, in my Fuerteventura travel guide.

Best family staycation: Charleville Hotel, Cork in July / August

If you are looking for great value family hotel deals in Ireland, this will be hard to beat! The Charleville Park Hotel is located 40 minutes from Cork and 30 minutes from Limerick, so you have the option to explore both counties as well as the wonderful Wild Atlantic Way.

There is a leisure club with 25-metre pool on site, as well as a restaurant and bar serving drinks and snacks. Rated as Excellent on TripAdvisor, this is the ideal hotel for families looking to explore Cork’s top attractions, without breaking the bank.

Best short break: Weekend in the Cinque Terre in September

Spend three glorious days exploring the five villages of the Cinque Terre. I found weekend flights to Genoa for just €72 in September. The 4-star Hotel Al Terra di Mare is located in Levanto, and is priced at just €290 per person including breakfast. I have lots more hotel options in my travel guide to Cinque Terre here:

Best city break: Vienna for October bank holiday

Oh Vienna….. Vienna is a city that is still on my own wish list, and I’m tempted to book this one myself! I found great value flights departing Dublin on Saturday the 28th of October and returning on Tuesday the 31st for just €124 from Dublin, and the 4-star Hotel Schani Wien is just €172 per person for a three-night stay.

This hotel is highly rated on TripAdvisor, was awarded a certificate of excellence this year, and is located just 300 metres from the main train station.

If you fancy some five-star luxury, the centrally located Hotel Ambassador is well priced at just €230 per person for a three night stay.

Best cruise: Marella Voyager

If you were following me last week you may have seen I was fortunate to be at the launch of Marella Voyager. This energetic all-inclusive ship is the perfect choice for first-time cruisers or for cruisers looking for a lively atmosphere on board. There is a great choice of dining and entertainments option too.

I found a Mediterranean Secrets Cruise departing on the 12th of August visiting Italy, France and Spain over seven days. Price for flights, transfers, checked baggage, and a seven-night cruise with meals and drinks included is €1379 per person. Family cabins are also available from €6719, based on 2 adults and 2 children sharing.

Best long haul: Dubai

Emirates is having a seat sale with return flights to Dubai available on multiple dates from €641 including baggage. Hotel rates are lower in September and hopefully the temperatures will be too!

I found great value in the highly rated 4-Star Millennium Place Dubai Marina which is ideally located to explore Dubai’s highlights. Price for a five-night stay in a Deluxe King Room with Balcony is only €233 per person!

Best early booking offer: Lake Garda, Venice & Verona

I’ve searched the web so you don’t have to! My best travel deals from Ireland include last minute holidays, short breaks, summer holidays, cruise deals, and super staycations.

This week’s Best Travel Deals include last minute holidays in Turkey, summer holidays in Tuscany and Salou, weekend breaks in Carcassonne and Sardinia, a Royal Caribbean cruise, an amazing trip to India and an early booking offer to Orlando for Easter.

Best last minute: Turkey

If you are looking for a last minute holiday that won’t break the bank, Turkey is hard to beat. With direct flights to Izmir, Dalaman and Antalya, you can take your pick of holiday resorts.

The 4-star Orka Village offers great value in the pretty village of Hisaronu. This highly rated aparthotel is priced at just €435 for a seven-night stay with breakfast on the 12th of June, including flights, transfers and checked baggage too!

The 4-Star Golden Day Wings is another firm favourite with Irish holidaymakers, this is €498 per person on the 10th of June including flights, transfers, checked baggage and breakfast.

If you prefer an All Inclusive resort, the highly rated Club Julian in Marmaris is a great choice. Priced at €634 on the 12th of June for seven nights, including flights, transfers, baggage, meals and drinks

Best summer holiday: Tuscany

Explore the stunning region of Tuscany this summer. Airfares are terrific value in July and hotel prices are reasonable too! I found return flights from Dublin to Pisa for €177 on the 19th of July and Cork to Pisa from €229 on the 18th of July. A seven-night stay in the highly rated Da Vinci Hotel in Montecatini Terme is just €329 per person.

I stayed in this pretty town many years ago and it is ideally located to explore the nearby town of Lucca and the cities of Florence and Sienna. There is a train service from Pisa airport, or you can pre-book transfers, but I recommend car hire if you want to explore Tuscany fully.

P.S Airfares are low throughout the year to Pisa so if the dates don’t suit below, simply edit the search to suit your requirements.

Best Irish escape: Mayo

The Mulranny Park Hotel has some last minute availability in their spacious 2-bedroom apartments, and are offering 20% off rates. Priced at €236 per night in June including breakfast, isn’t this the perfect place to capitalise on this fabulous weather we are having?

Best family holiday: Salou

The Costa Dorada is one of this summer’s most popular family holiday destinations. With family friendly resorts, one of Europe’s best theme parks – PortAventura, and the stunning city of Barcelona on your doorstep, it’s not difficult to see why. Sunway have a range of accommodation options available including campsites, self catering apartments and luxury hotels.

I found a good deal to the 4-Star Camping La Siesta in Salou in July. Price for flights and a seven-night stay in a mobile home for a family of four is €2432. We stayed at Camping La Siesta many years ago and the kids loved it. You can read about our stay here:

The Dorada Palace Hotel is another great choice and price is only €2460 including breakfast and evening meal. If you have 3 or 4 children, a 2bedroom apartment in the 4-star Pineda Park is the best choice.

Best family staycation: Fota Island Resort

I recall many great family breaks at Fota Island Resort. Staying in one of their super self catering lodges with the benefits of five-star hotel facilities on your doorstep makes for a great combination.

There is a leisure centre, adventure course and water sports available, and you are spoilt for choice when it comes to day trips, as Fota Wildlife Park, Spike Island, the Titantic Experience and sandy beaches are all located close by.

Price for a three-night stay in a 2-bedroom lodge is €890, and a three-bedroom lodge is available from €990. These are currently available on Friday the 30th of June, and limited dates throughout July and August.

Best short break: Sardinia

Aer Lingus has started a new service to Olbia in Sardinia, the gateway to the exclusive Costa Smeralda. If you want to see how the other half holiday why not book a short break and check it out for yourself!

I found return flights from Dublin for €172 on various dates throughout the summer but hotels are better value if you avoid July and August.

A three-night stay at the 4-star Hotel Luna Lughente is €237 per person on Saturday the 9th of September, making it the perfect weekend break destination – the total cost including flights, breakfast and 10kg checked baggage is only €409 per person.

Best Cruise: Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas

Cruise the Med on Royal Caribbean’s fabulous ship Symphony of the Seas. I had the pleasure of cruising on her sister ship, and the entertainment and facilities on board were superb.

Price for a seven-night cruise from Barcelona, visiting Palma, Marseille, La Spezia, Rome and Naples is only €1249 on the 8th of October. This includes flights, checked baggage, meals and entertainment. Upgrade to a balcony cabin for €250 per person.

Best city break: Carcassonne

Try somewhere new this year and enjoy a weekend break in the medieval city of Carcassonne. Walking through Carcassonne is like stepping into a fairytale, and it is the perfect location for a romantic getaway.

I found return flights on Friday the 6th of October for three nights for just €65, and a three-night stay in the 4-star Hôtel Le Donjon – Cœur de La Cité Médiévale is €211 per person. This is located right in the heart of the medieval city and offers superb value for such an idyllic location.

Best long haul: Guided tour of India

Best summer sun: Alvor in August

Most you will know that Alvor is a favourite sun spot of mine and I found a super deal for a holiday there in August. Return flights with Aer Lingus are just €179 including a 10kg checked bag on the 20th of August, and a seven-night stay in the 4-Star Alvor Jardim is just €465 per person, based on two sharing.

Flights are also available from Cork with Aer Lingus and Ryanair and from Shannon and Knock with Ryanair.

Best family deal: Kos in June

For anyone looking for family holiday deals in June, the Miros Apartments are hard to beat – they are rated number 1 on TripAdvisor. Located in the pretty resort of Tingaki, a family stay is just €1481 based on 2 adults and 2 children sharing on the 14th of June.

Best city break: Lisbon

You probably know by now how much I love Lisbon, but at these prices hopefully you will to! I found weekend flights on Sunday morning the 3rd of September returning Tuesday night the 5th of September for just €114 from Dublin. This gives you three full days to enjoy the city.

Lisbon is very easy to navigate too, but if you don’t fancy walking it, there are delightful old trams and tuk tuks available to help you explore this great city.

If you are in the fortunate position where you can get away for three weeks this summer, then you won’t want to miss this! I visited Malaga City last year and loved it, and I’m sure it is even more impressive over Christmas when the city is illuminated with 2 million lights!

I found a great deal flying on the 5th of December where return flights are just €138 with Aer Lingus for two nights from Dublin, including a 10kg checked in bag!

Kick start your summer with a week in the fabulous island of Zakynthos. Renowned for having one of the world’s most photographed beaches – Navagio, or Shipwreck Beach as its commonly known, there has never been a cheaper time to go!

I found return flights from Dublin with Ryanair from just €95 on the 6th of May, and a seven-night stay in the popular Zante View Studios and Villas is only €105 per person – yes you read that right!

Best overnight escape: Clayton Limerick Hotel, Dinner, B&B from €128pp

With delightful views of the Shannon, a leisure centre and a choice of dining options, the Clayton Hotel Limerick is a great choice for an overnight escape. The brand new International Rugby Experience is due to open shortly, so why not combine a visit while you are there?

I spotted a super offer which includes an overnight stay with breakfast and a four-course dinner from €255 per room, based on 2 sharing. This offer is valid on selected dates throughout the year, but it is currently available on Sunday the 28th of May, amongst many others.

I also spotted a good family deal on the 3rd of July for €293. This includes breakfast and dinner too, based on 2 adults and 2 children sharing. Discounts are also available on local attractions.

Best city break: Valencia

Valencia is a city that is firmly on my wish list! I have heard so many great things about Spain’s third largest city, which has 135km of beach and three UNESCO World Heritage sites! It is also considered one of the healthiest cities in the world, due to its enviable climate, low pollution levels, over 5 million square metres of green areas, amongst other things.

I found return flights from €138 on the 17th of June from Dublin and Cork airports, and a four night stay in the 4-star Hotel Valencia Oceanic, is just €249pp.

Located in close to the City of Arts and Sciences, this popular hotel which is affiliated my Melia, has an outdoor swimming pool if you fancy chilling after a day exploring the city.

The non-refundable rate in centrally located 5-star Valencia SH Valencia Palace is similarly priced, and also worth considering.

Best summer sun: Croatia

With so many flight options to Croatia this year, airfares are still reasonably low. I found flights to Dubrovnik from €206 with Ryanair from Dublin on the 18th of July, and €308 from Cork with Aer Lingus on the 8th of July.

There are many accommodation options to choose from, including lots of privately owned homes and villas.

I chose the pretty resort of Cavtat which is ideally located close Dubrnovnik airport as well as Montenegro. I highly recommend a visit to Kotor while you are there, full day excursions to Montenegro with pick up from Cavtat are available from €65 per person.

Dubrovnik can easily be reached by ferry from Cavtat so you can explore it early morning or late evening when the crowds disperse.

The popular Orange Tree Apartments are priced at €454 per person for a seven night stay, or if you prefer to opt for five star, the Hotel Croatia is hard to beat at €1004 per person including breakfast.

Best family holiday: Tenerife

One of the main reasons families flock to Tenerife each year is to visit one of the world’s best water parks – Siam Park. There is a wide choice of slides here for kids of all ages.

The Villa Mandi apartments offer free access to Siam Park throughout your stay as well as having a kids club and plenty of activities for adults and children on site.

Best early booking offer: 3-night break in Porto, €230pp

I loved our trip to Porto and would highly recommend Porto for a city break. As well as being home to a UNESCO World Heritage site, it is packed with colourful buildings, delightful streets, and has a great food and wine scene.

I found flights from Dublin for €75 return on the 9th of October, or €78 return from Shannon on the 8th of October. Price for a three-night hotel stay in the 4-star Fontinha Porto, Trademark Collection by Wyndham is only €155 per person.

If you fancy some five-star treatment, check out the Editory Boulevard Aliados Hotel. This modern luxury hotel is located in the heart of the city in a heritage building. It has received and Excellent rating on TripAdvisor and will no doubt increase in price over the summer months.

A heads up for 2024!

Easter is early next year ( March 31st) and flights for the first week of Easter holidays are already on sale. Remember you can book Ryanair flights with a deposit ( if you use Family Plus fare ) – you can read more about that here:

Currently flight prices to the Canary Islands for the first week of Easter holidays are €424 per person, while Malaga and Faro are €250pp. I don’t think these are particularly ‘cheap’ but it is worth considering if you want to get the best travel deals during Easter holidays.

The second week of Easter holidays should be loaded over the next week or two, so if are planning a trip to Orlando, New York or long haul travel, now would be the time to start planning.

I’ve searched the web so you don’t have to! My best travel deals from Ireland include last minute holidays, short breaks, summer holidays, cruise deals, and super staycations.

This week’s best travel deals include flights to Barcelona Reus for €44, the Amalfi Coast from €87 and Fuerteventura from €98! I also have holidays to Fuerteventura in July, Corfu in August, a 5-star wellness week in the Algarve, a Med cruise on Enchanted Princess, New York and Vegas for New Year, and super staycations.

Best last minute: Costa Dorada flights for €44!

Fly from Dublin to Barcelona Reus airport next week for just €44 return – its cheaper than the train to Cork! Stay in one of the beach resorts nearby, such as Salou or Cambrils, and visit the cities of Tarragona or Barcelona. The cosmopolitan resort of Sitges is also within easy reach, as is the mountain range of Montserrat, or why not try some adrenaline rides at Ferrari land.

Best short break: Amalfi Coast flights from €87 in May

Kick start your summer with a short break in Sorrento. I found return flights from just €87 from Shannon and €138 from Dublin on the 7th of May, and the 4-star Hotel Hermitage is only €249 for a three-night stay including breakfast!

The hotel is located on the outskirts of Sorrento in the pretty village of Sant’Agata sui due Golfi. It is rated as Excellent on TripAdvisor and receives excellent reviews from previous guests.

Best summer sun: Corfu in August

I found these chic 4-star apartments in the pretty resort of Messonghi in Corfu. I stayed here a few years ago and loved its relaxed atmosphere and great restaurants. The Ionian Eye Design Studios & Spa is ideal for a couple or friends stay and is located just 80 metres from the beach.

Return flights from Dublin to Corfu are available from €282 with Aer Lingus on the 19th of August, and a seven-night stay here with sea view is €502 per person.

If you were following me on Instagram over the past week you will know we had a super family holiday in Fuerteventura. I found return flights for €305 from Shannon on the 16th of July, and €350 from Dublin on the 19th of July. The centrally located Fuentepark apartments are just €777 for a seven-night family stay, or the 4-star all inclusive Arena Suite is €2184 based on 2 adults and 2 children sharing.

The Clonakilty Park Hotel is one of the most popular family hotels in Ireland. It has an award-winning leisure centre, a three-screen cinema, high ropes and zip wire adventure centre, and family friendly dining options.

Explore the historic city of Bordeaux and its neighbouring winelands for just €247 per person. I found flights from €64 return from Dublin on the 20th of April and €73 from Cork on the 21st of April, and a three-night stay at the 4-Star StayCity apart-hotel is just €186 per person.

Located in the heart of the city and highly rated on TripAdvisor, this is a great choice for a weekend in Bordeaux.

Combine a relaxing beach holiday with some history and culture thrown in, by spending a week in Cyprus this summer. I found great value flights from Dublin to Paphos for just €237 on the 25th of August.

Explore Sardinia’s sandy beaches and pretty old towns with this super deal to Alghero. I found return flights from €164 on the 12th of May from Dublin, and €154 on the 8th of May from Cork, and a seven-night stay at the highly rated Hotel Villa Piras is only €243 per person, making the total cost just €397 for one week.

Best summer sun: A week in Costa del Sol

I had a great response to my post on the Caminito del Rey, so I decided to put a package together for you incorporating a beach holiday with a day trip to the Caminito included.

I found great value return flights to Malaga on the 13th of June for €148, but you can choose any date or duration to suit you.

A seven-night stay at the 4-star Illunion Fuengirola is only €445 per person. I have stayed here many times and love its beachfront location. Fuengirola’s old town is great for shopping and there are some superb restaurants there too.

A guided tour of the Caminito del Rey including pick up from Fuengirola is just €69, and is probably the most convenient way to get there.

Best summer sun: Magical Marrakech

If you are looking for a sun holiday this summer with a little culture and charm thrown in, then don’t miss Marrakesh. It is certainly on trend this year with many celebrities choosing it as their winter sun destination of choice.

I found great value return airfares for only €164 on the 28th of July. A seven-night stay at the luxury 2Ciels Boutique Hôtel is only €485 per person including breakfast. This is highly rated on TripAdvisor and combines traditional Moroccan influences with luxury modern interiors. Total cost for a seven night holiday including flights is just €649 per person.

Best city break: 3 night break in Berlin for €198!

Berlin is a great choice for a city break. There are fascinating sights everywhere you turn – The Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie and the Berlin Wall, to name but a few! However, Berlin also has some great nightlife and shopping – you can combine culture with craft beers and get the best of both worlds.

I found great value flights for just €45 return on the 18th of April, and a three-night stay at the top rated Mercure Berlin Wittenbergplatz is only €149 per person – so you can enjoy a three night break in Berlin for less than €200!

Best family holiday: 4-Star week in Lanzarote

Lanzarote is one of the most popular holiday destinations from Ireland, and I’ve found a deal in one of its most popular hotels on the 16th of July! The Las Costas Hotel is located right on the beach but also posts a pool with stunning sea views. There is a children’s pool and snack bar, as well as a cocktail bar, games room, gym and Spa.

Price of €2973 includes flights, checked baggage, transfers and a seven-night stay with breakfast and evening meal included, based on a family of four. Best family staycation: Easter break at Midlands Park Hotel

Enjoy a two-night family break at the highly rated Midlands Park Hotel this Easter from €434 for a family of four, or €498 for a family of five. We stayed here last year and loved its family friendly facilities and great dining options.

South Africa is one of my favourite holiday destinations and this super two-week trip manages to capture many of the highlights. Spend four nights in Cape Town, three nights in the Winelands, three nights on the Garden Route and three nights at Amakhala Game Reserve with meals and game drives included – a place I stayed in a few years ago and can highly recommend.

In this week’s best travel deals from Ireland I have a last minute ski holiday, an overnight escape to London, holidays to Zakynthos, Puglia and Las Vegas, a family holiday to the Algarve, a five star yacht cruise in Croatia, an epic trip to Vietnam and some super staycations.

Best city break: 4-Star London break for €109!

Jet off to London for the night in March for just €109! Take in a show ( I can highly recommend Abba Voyage ), see the sights, or visit the Making of Harry Potter at Warner Bros Studios – tickets are still available from Attraction Tickets with return transportation from Victoria.

Flights are available from €29 return to Stansted or €35 return to Gatwick on the 12th of March from Dublin, and similar prices are available from Cork, Shannon and Knock airports to Stansted.

You can fly early morning and come back late in the evening which will give you two full days to explore this great city.

I stayed at the 4-star Park Plaza Victoria Hotel which is ideally located beside Victoria station and within walking distance of Westminster Bridge, the London Eye and most of London’s top attractions. Price for an overnight stay is just €80 per person.

Best May deal: Zakynthos for €299!

Kickstart your summer with a week in the beautiful island of Zakynthos. With the announcement of a new service from Dublin with Ryanair, airfares have never been lower!

Visit the most photographed beach in the world – Shipwreck beach, see the Loggerhead turtles, or take a boat trip to Kefalonia.

Return flights are available from €177 in May ( and October ) and the popular Seaview apartments are superbly priced at just €122 per person for a seven-night stay. The 4-star Ionian Aura apart-hotel is another great choice, priced at just €165 per person including breakfast.

Best summer sun: Puglia ❤️

Explore Puglia this summer! With flights to both Bari and Brindisi from Dublin, you have a choice of flights available. I found flights to Brindisi for just €118 return on the 25th of July.

The Dimora Charleston Guesthouse in Lecce is highly rated on TripAdvisor and ideally placed to explore this gorgeous region. Price for a seven-night stay in a junior suite with Spa bath and breakfast €468 per person.

The Hilton Garden Inn is another great choice and also is rated as Excellent on TripAdvisor. A seven-night stay here is €487 per person.

You could also choose to fly into Brindisi and home Bari, or vice versa, and explore the northern Puglia towns of Alberobello and Polignano a Mare, and pop into nearby Matera – one of Italy’s most fascinating cities.

Best family staycation: Newpark Hotel in Kilkenny

The Newpark Hotel in Kilkenny is one of the best family hotels in Ireland. As well as swimming pool, adventure playground, animal farm, kids clubs and go karting, a dinosaur-themed park opened here last year, with life-sized (robotic) dinosaurs that move and roar!

Deluxe family rooms can get booked out months in advance, so it is always best to book as early as possible. Price for a two-night family stay over the October bank holiday weekend is €480 including breakfast – but hurry there are only four rooms left!

Island hopping in Croatia is on my own wish list and this luxury cruise looks like the best way to do it. Unlike regular cruises you get to dine in the ports you visit each night.

This is one of the best family apartments in Majorca. We spent a week there when my children were younger and the kids loved it. It is located just a few minutes from the beach and the centre of Cala Bona, where there is an ample choice of restaurants and bars. If you want to venture further afield, the larger resort of Cala Millor is about a thirty minute walk.

You don’t need to venture outside the resort though as the facilities on-site are excellent. There is a children’s splash park with a giant pirate ship and there is day and night time entertainment, including a mini-disco in the evening. Kids are spoilt for choice with kids clubs and a multi-sports court, there is also a crèche for children under 3 years.

3. Majorca: All Inclusive Globales Bouganvilla, 2ad & 2ch €3410

This All Inclusive hotel boasts its own waterpark, two swimming pools, daily sports activities and evening entertainment – everything you need for a fun filled family holiday. There are slides for younger kids as well as eight slides for teens and adults. It is a highly rated family complex with plenty of onsite facilities, and a 20 minute walk will see you in the heart of Sa Coma.

If I had to chose one place on this list for a relaxing family holiday in nice surroundings, this would be it! Cala Do’r is a beautiful resort in Majorca and the Sa Marina are one of the best properties there.

There are two lagoon-style pools on-site as well as two kids pools, and two beaches within five minutes walk from the apartments. There are lots of sports activities available for both adults and children, as well as more facilities in its sister hotel, the Inturotel Esmeralda Park. A kids club is also available from age 4 upwards.

Price for flights, transfers and a seven-night stay for 2 adults and 2 children is €4143 on the 31st of July or only €2533 on the 22nd of August! Many more dates are available.

5. Costa del Sol: All Inclusive Cortijo Blanco, 2ad & 2ch, €2979

The Cortijo Blanco’s white washed exterior has a villa style appearance, with pretty courtyards and plenty of family friendly facilities on site. There are three main swimming pools, two children’s pools, an outdoor play-zone, daytime entertainment programme, mini discos and a large open-air entertainment stage for evening shows.

Located just 10 minutes walk to the beach and a shuttle bus ride from Puerto Banus (free of charge), this is a great value property, with all meals and drinks included. Check out the reviews on TripAdvisor if you still need convincing.

6. Costa del Sol: All Inclusive Globales Playa Estepona, 2ad & 2ch, €3076

As well as a waterpark on site, the highly rated Globales Playa Estepona has numerous sports activities, kids clubs, day and night time entertainment and even has its own beach club restaurant. The waterpark has a space bowl, tube slides, body slides, a multilane and kamikaze slide – all are suitable for children 120cm and over.

Younger children have their own spray park and mini slides in a pirate-themed area. The hotel is situated close to glitzy Puerto Banus and offers a shuttle bus service 2-3 times per day into the centre.

Price is €3412 on the 30th of July from Dublin or €3076 on the 16th of August from Dublin or Cork, based on 2 adults and 2 children sharing.

8. Tenerife: All Inclusive MaryLanza Suites & Spa, 2ad & 2ch €3496

For families looking for a luxury all-inclusive holiday, the MaryLanza Suites and Spa should tick all boxes. This hotel boasts a fine dining restaurant and Teppanyaki, as well as a buffet restaurant with a terrace for al fresco dining. Chilled Cava, a chocolate fountain and themed evenings elevate the dining experience.

There are two pools, including one with in-water seats, as well as a luxury Spa. Children are well catered for too with a children’s pool, day and evening entertainment and a games room and play centre. The location is great too, with Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas just 15-minutes’ walk away.

The MaryLanza Suites & Spa is one of the top rated hotels in Tenerife on TripAdvisor, making this a great value option for luxury family holidays in July and August.

9. Tenerife: Villa Mandi With Access to Siam Park, 2ad & 2ch, €2717

One of the main reasons families flock to Tenerife each year is to visit one of the world’s best water parks – Siam Park. There is a wide choice of slides here for kids of all ages.

The Tower of Power and The Dragon will keep adrenaline junkies happy, while the Mhai Tai River and the huge wave pool, are great for all the family. Younger kids will love the Lost City – a fortress teeming with bridges, waterfalls, tipping buckets and 9 slides!

This popular resort offers free access to Siam Park throughout your stay. Located off the beaten track, you can enjoy some quiet time but are also within easy reach of the lively Playa de Las Americas and Los Cristianos.

This large complex resembles a Mediterranean village and comes with four swimming pools, two playgrounds, a kids club and plenty of activities for adults and children, including a football pitch and live music shows.

You will also find a kids club for children aged 4-12 years, as well as tennis courts and live entertainment for adults and children. As this is an all inclusive hotel, meals and drinks are included in the cost.

Located in the pretty resort of Tingaki, this is a lovely family friendly resort in Greece. The Matoula Beach Hotel is a highly rated property that is ideal for families looking for a relaxing resort without lively entertainment programmes or kids clubs. There is a pool with bar and restaurant on site and it is located just minutes from the beach and a short drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Rhodes Town.

Rated as Excellent on TripAdvisor this will allow families to enjoy a typical family run Greek complex with a focus on relaxation and good service. Duplex suites are also available here that sleep up to five.

In this week’s best travel deals from Ireland I have a city break to Lisbon, holidays to Malta, Cambrils and the Algarve, a family holiday to Menorca, a five star luxury cruise, an early booking offer to the Portofino Coast, and some super staycations.

Best last minute: Malta

Avail of low airfares from Shannon airport and take a spring break in Malta. I found return flights for just €77 on the 22nd of February.

The 4-star Hotel Argento is highly rated on TripAdvisor and is located close to the popular resort on St Julians. Price for a seven-night stay is just €145 per person. Flights are also available ex Dublin from €182 per person around the same time.

Best overnight escape: Lough Erne Resort

With Valentines Day just around the corner, why not give the gift of an overnight escape? The 5-Star Lough Erne Resort in Fermanagh is just €79 per person including breakfast on the 20th of February or on Mother’s Day, 19th of March.

We stayed in Lough Erne resort a few years ago and loved it. It’s stunning location on a 600-acre peninsula was just one of the reasons, the top quality food and service were others. It offers a host of activities including two Championship Golf Courses and a unique Thai inspired Spa.

Best city break: 2 Nights / 3 Days in Lisbon from €176

You probably know by now how much I love Lisbon, but at these prices hopefully you will to! I found weekend flights on Sunday morning the 23rd of April returning Tuesday night the 25th of April for just €50 from Dublin. This gives you three full days to enjoy the city.

Lisbon is very easy to navigate too, but if you don’t fancy walking it, there are delightful old trams and tuk tuks available to help you explore this great city.

The HF Fenix Music hotel is one of the top-rated three-star hotels in Lisbon. Its trendy rooftop pool, music theme and location beside the Oriente metro station has seen it receive excellent reviews on TripAdvisor. Best May deal: Cambrils, Costa Dorada

The 4-star H10 Cambrils Playa is a super place to stay if you want a relaxing beach holiday, or want to explore the Costa Dorada and nearby cities of Barcelona or Tarragona. Located right beside the beach in the upmarket resort of Cambrils, it offers superb value for such a highly rated hotel.

Price for a seven-night stay with flights, transfers, checked baggage and breakfast and dinner included (check out the reviews of the food on TripAdvisor) is just €478 per person on the 5th of May. This includes a discount of €100 per booking when you use SALE100 online.

Best summer sun: Wellness week in the Algarve

The Algarve is a popular choice for Wellness holidays. There are 100 beaches stretching over 150 km of coastline as well as a wide choice of accommodation options to suit all tastes and budgets.

Aer Lingus have return flights to Faro from Dublin for just €132 on the 13th of June, and there are flights from Cork, Knock and Shannon from €206, €275 and €279 respectively with Ryanair.

The highly rated Vale d’ El Rei Hotel & Villas is superbly priced at just €344 per person for a seven-night stay including breakfast. Located on the outskirts of Carvoeiro, surrounded by vineyards, this 4-Star hotel boasts a Spa, two pools and a tennis court.

Alternatively chose the relatively new (opened in 2019) 5-Star adult-only Longevity Health & Wellness Hotel which offers a wide selection of health and wellness holiday programmes on-site.

A state of the art fitness centre with yoga and pilates classes, as well as a spa and wellness centre are also available if you don’t wish to partake in any of the dedicated programmes available.

If you were following me last year you will know how much I loved Celebrity Beyond cruise ship, so I was delighted to find some great offers available on Celebrity’s Edge Class ships this summer.

The Garryvoe Beach Homes are newly built homes with modern interiors and stunning views, as well a private garden to take advantage of them.

As the name suggests they are situated just two minutes walk from the Blue Flag Garryvoe Beach, however you can also avail of the leisure centre and swimming pool at the nearby Garryvoe Hotel, for a nominal daily charge.

Price; for a two-night family stay over St Patrick’s Weekend is €466 in a one-bedroom home, or €673 in a three-bedroom home.

Best early booking offer: A weekend on the Portofino Coast

Spend a weekend on the Italian Riviera this year and visit the exclusive resorts of Portofino and the hill top towns of the Cinque Terre. The newly announced summer flights to Genoa from Dublin offer superb value for a weekend break.

I found flights from €107 return in September and October, departing early Friday morning and returning late Monday night so you will have four days to explore this stunning coastline. However, if time and budget allows, I suggest stay longer!

I visited Portofino and the nearby town of Santa Margherita many years ago, and I think you would want to be made of stone if they didn’t impress you! Hotel prices are less expensive in Santa Margherita, although it is only five minutes by taxi into Portofino.

I found great value in the 4-Star Helios hotel. Price for a three-night stay with breakfast is €237 per person on the 6th of October. If you fancy some five-star treatment, the Excelsior Coast Hotel is the best value at €463 per person.

I’ve searched the web so you don’t have to! My best travel deals from Ireland include last minute holidays, city breaks, summer holidays, long haul offers, cruise deals and staycations for couples and families.

In this week’s best travel deals from Ireland I have a weekend break to Sardinia, holidays to Madeira and the Amalfi Coast, family holidays to Zakynthos and Lake Garda, an amazing cruise for Christmas and New Year, and super staycations for St Patrick’s weekend.

Best Last Minute Holiday: Madeira

Escape the cold and enjoy a winter week in Madeira. Located off the coast of Africa, temperatures are usually higher in Madeira than in Mediterranean resorts. It is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts and food lovers, and there is a host of great accommodation options to choose from.

I found return flights for just €60 from Dublin on the 2nd of February, and Pestana Hotels have 38% off in their January sale.

The four-star Pestana Casino Studios are available from €266 per person, or the 5-star Pestana Carlton Madeira Premium Ocean Resort is available from €350 per person, both for a seven-night stay. Many more hotels are available, including all-inclusive options.

Best overnight escape: St Patricks Weekend in Clare

Take a trip Clare for St Patrick’s weekend. I found a super deal in the Lahinch Coast Hotel & Suites. There is a Leisure Centre on-site, with a 17 metre pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi – the perfect place to relax after exploring the Cliffs of Moher and the Wild Atlantic Way.

Choose a one-night stay for €65pp or a two-night stay for €135pp. Check out the great reviews on TripAdvisor here.

Best city break: 4-Star weekend in Sardinia for €229!

Spend the weekend in sunny Sardinia! Alghero is just 10 minutes from the airport so it is ideal for a short break. I found return flights from €80 in May, departing Dublin early Friday morning and returning late Sunday evening, so you will have three days to explore this pretty city.

Alternatively travel from Cork and stay for three nights. Price for Friday to Monday is only €98 on the 12th of May.

There are many great value hotel options here including the 4-star Alma di Alghero Hotel which is only €149 per person for a two-night stay, or €213 for a three-night stay. Located beside the beach, and 15-minutes walk from the historic centre, it offers the best of both worlds.

Best summer sun: Sorrento in July

Spend your summer holidays on the Amalfi Coast this year – flight prices are SO low, even in July! I found return flights for €159 on the 5th of July from Dublin and the 12th of July from Shannon.

A seven-night stay at the highly rated 4-star Prestige Hotel is just €479 including breakfast and free cancellation. I have many more hotel options in this post:

Best family holiday: All Inclusive in Zakynthos

Visit the world’s most photographed beach this summer, while staying in one of Zakynthos’ top rated family resorts. The 4-star+ All Inclusive Aqua Bay Suites have eight pools, a water park, kids clubs, and access to a choice of dining options across three of their hotels.

Price for a seven-night stay with flights, transfers, checked baggage as well as meals, drinks and waterpark access included is €3787 for a family of four, departing August 9th. This is based on sharing a family room with sliding doors and balcony, however swim up rooms and rooms with private pools are also available.

Take the family to Connemara for St Patrick’s weekend. I found a two-bedroom holiday home in the Connemara Sands Hotel & Spa for just €470 for a two-night stay, including breakfast!

With private access to the Blue Flag Mannin Bay beach, the Connemara Sands Hotel is one of the best beach hotels in Ireland. A stay here offers the best of both worlds, as you have the benefits of its hotel facilities, including the Spa and Wellness centre, as well as self catering facilities in a holiday home.

Best cruise deal: Christmas & New Year Adventure

Want to escape for Christmas next year? I found an amazing deal for anyone who wants to be away for the festivities – a 19 night all-inclusive cruise for only €1970! Visit Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Israel and Cyprus on Celestyal Crystal from the 16th of December until the 4th of January 2024.

The price includes meals, unlimited drinks, gratuities and three excursions to Ephesus, Cairo and Knossos. There are only two full sea days, you will be in various ports for the other 17! Flights need to be added, but the travel agent can book these for you when flights are on sale.

Best early booking offer: Lake Garda for October Mid term

Secure your October mid term break getaway now before the prices increase! I found great value flights to Verona in Italy from Dublin airport. Explore Lake Garda’s pretty towns and villages and cycle the new bike path, treat the kids to GardaLand, or enjoy a day trip to nearby Venice or Verona.

Price for flights and a seven-night stay in a two-bedroom bungalow in Camping Bella Italia is €923 for a family of four. Yes I know the dash for the sun beds is not ideal here 🫣, but you can’t deny the facilities and value!

In this week’s best travel deals from Ireland I have holidays to Corfu, Croatia and Marrakesh, family holidays to the Algarve, an amazing cruise deal, Easter weekend in Italy, New Year in Iceland and super staycations.

Best Last Minute Holiday: Marrakesh

Marrakesh is having a moment. If you are looking for an alternative to the Canary Islands this winter, with a little culture and charm thrown in, then don’t miss Marrakesh. As well as great value hotels, you should also enjoy some balmy temperatures – it is 23 degrees and sunny today!

I found return flights for just €132 on the 31st of January for seven nights, and a traditional stay in the top rated Riad Elnoujoum is only €245 per person including breakfast.

Best Overnight Escape: Valentines night at Mount Juliet

Give the gift of a hotel stay this Valentines Day! Price for an overnight stay at the 5-star Mount Juliet Hotel is just €92 per person on the 14th of February including breakfast.

Prices are even less on later dates – €85 per person on the 22nd of February, €79 per person on the 29th of March or €85 per person on the 16th of April – many more dates are available throughout the year for similar prices.

Best Spring / City Break: Trieste for Easter weekend

We have over 23 new destinations from Ireland this year, and thankfully many of the new ‘summer‘ routes are starting at the end of March, just in time for Easter holidays. The Italian city of Trieste is one of them and I found flights for €74 over Easter weekend.

The 4-star Hotel Coppe is €320 for a four-night stay and superbly located to explore this great city. Want to bring the kids along? The Residence Le Terrazze apartments are just €489 for a four night stay for a family of four.

Trieste is a delightful city in its own right, but it also ideally located to explore the pretty towns and villages of Slovenia, as well as Lake Bled (90 minutes away). There is so much to do here, you can catch the train to Venice for the day too.

Flights operate twice weekly and flights are only €89 for seven nights over Easter holidays – you may wish to stay longer!

Best May Deal: A week in Corfu for €285!

Kickstart your summer with a week in the Greek island of Corfu for €285! The friendly Spiros apartments are located in the pretty resort of Sidari and are rated as Excellent on TripAdvisor.

This super deal is perfect for anyone looking to visit Greece without breaking the bank – the price includes flights, apartment, transfers and checked baggage for seven nights, departing the 22nd of May.

Best Summer Sun: 5-Star week in Croatia

We are so lucky to have direct flights to four airports in Croatia this summer. I have a soft spot for Cavtat because I think it ticks all boxes for couples looking for an upmarket resort, with lots of things to do nearby. You can take boat trips to Dubrovnik and many of Croatia’s islands, or pop into nearby Montenegro and explore the stunning bay of Kotor.

Airfares are particularly good value this summer with return flights from €141 in August or €162 in July. The 5-star Hotel Croatia is available from €708 for a seven-night stay including breakfast.

For families looking for a relaxing sun holiday this summer, the Colina de Lapa apartments and villas in Carvoeiro offer excellent value. If you like getting away for New Year, you need to book early to get the best airfares. Play Airlines have flights on sale from Dublin to Reykjavik for €157 return! Price for a four-night stay in the centrally located City Centre Hotel is €307 per person, with free cancellation.

Beat the January blues with a week in Lanzarote, there are return flights available from €60 on the 18th of January! Price for a seven night stay in the Corona Mar apartments in Puerto del Carmen €312 per person, making the total cost for a week in the sun just €372.

Visit Santorini before the crowds arrive! I’m hoping to visit myself this year, but I’m hearing how busy it can be in July and August. I found return flights for €139 on the 23rd of April – wouldn’t it be a fab way to kick start the summer?

Aer Lingus and Ryanair both announced that they are flying direct to Kos this summer which can only mean one thing – lower airfares for us! I found return flights from €80 on the 19th of September and €106 on the 9th of May. July and August prices are good too, with return flights from €169 in June, July and various dates in August.

Price for flights and a seven night stay at the 4-star Blue Lagoon City hotel with breakfast included, is €347 on the 9th of May, €594 on the 20th of June, or €505 on the 19th of September.

Best luxury holiday: The Maldives

Is the Maldives on your bucket list? Whether you just want a short break or a summer holiday in Ireland, it is wise to book your summer staycation now, particularly if you are looking for self catering accommodation with hotel facilities. The highly rated Talbot Suites in Wexford offer just that, and are ideally located to explore Wexford’s family friendly activities.

Price for a three-night stay in in July is €540 in a two-bedroom apartment, or €750 in a three-bedroom apartment.

Best cruise: Norwegian Gem Croatia cruise – €795

The Italian city of Trieste is another new destination for Irish holidaymakers to explore, but it also has the added advantage of being a cruise port! Sunway are quick off the mark with this five-night cruise on Norwegian Gem.

TOP TIP: Prices are correct at the time of publication (1st August) but if lots of people are trying to access flights or accommodation at the same time, the prices may increase. If this happens, edit the search dates, or check back later – you may find the holiday is still available.

I am a regular visitor to the Algarve, and I enjoyed a family holiday for Halloween break here last year. I love its stunning beaches, great choice of restaurants and how family friendly it is.

There are multiple flights to Faro from Ireland but I found the best value departing from Dublin on the 30th of October with Ryanair for seven nights. Flights from Cork are €409 per person on the same date.

Similarly there are many different accommodation options to choose from. The Canary Islands are the most popular destination for family holidays for Halloween, as traditionally it is the best place to guarantee some October sunshine. For this reason flights are more expensive than other areas. The best prices I found were departing on October 31st and returning Monday November 7th – €475pp

Treat the kids to a trip to PortAventura and Ferrari Land over the Halloween break. I have a four night stay in Estival ElDorado Resort with park passes included. Price including flights, hotel and park tickets is €1422 for a family of four.

4. Disneyland Paris, Flights, Hotel & 2-Day Park Passes, 3-Nights: €1762

Disneyland Paris is magical at any time of year but at Halloween you can expect plenty of spooky activities that the kids will love! Main Street U.S.A is full of pumpkins, flickering lights and creepy sounds while scary attractions like Phantom Manor and Tower of Terror have some additional spooky surprises in store.

Return flights to Orly airport offer the best price over Halloween break. Orly is only about 45 minutes from Disneyland Paris and return private transfers are just €138 for a family of four.

The 4-star Hotel L’Eysée Val D’Europe is a popular place to stay. It is located in the shopping area of Val D’Europe, and as it is a Disney Partner hotel you can avail of the free shuttle bus to the parks.

Irish owned, with daily entertainment and a beachfront location, it is no surprise that the 4-star Sunset Beach Club is one of the most popular places to stay on the Costa del Sol for families.

6. Cruise Holiday on MSC Bellissima, Flights & 7-Day Med Cruise: €2980

This super deal is amazing value and the perfect introduction to cruising. MSC Bellissima has excellent family facilities on board including a waterpark, kids clubs, Lego rooms and a Formula 1 simulator!

You will get the opportunity to visit Provence, Cinque Terre, Florence, Amalfi Coast and Valencia, before returning to Barcelona for your return flight home.

Price of €2980 is based on a family of four ( kids under 12) and includes return flights to Barcelona on the 30th of October, 10kg carry-on baggage per person, a 7-Night cruise on full board basis and pre-paid gratuities.

7. Rome City Break: Flights & Apartment, 3 Nights: €1265

Rome is a city that not only fascinates adults. Children will be in awe at Rome’s magnificent landmarks that they have heard so much about in school and seen on TV.

There are multiple flights to Rome from Ireland but I found the best value departing from Dublin on the 3rd of November with Aer Lingus and returning on the 6th of November with Ryanair.

8. Sardinia, Flights & 4-Star Hotel, 4 Nights, €1115

Ryanair has extended its summer schedule to Sardinia to cover the mid term break, and airfares are excellent value. They are offering return flights to Alghero in Sardinia for just €55 return on the 4th of November for three nights, or €117 on the 31st of October for four nights.

The 4-star Alma di Alghero Hotel is located beside the beach, and 15-minutes walk from the historic centre. I visited Alghero this summer and loved it. It is just 10 minutes from the airport so it is ideal for a short break. Price for a four-night stay for a family of four is €1115.

8. Turkey, Flights & 5-Star All Inclusive Resort, 1 week: €3357

The Palmwings Hotel Ephesus is a super All Inclusive resort that boasts a fabulous beachfront location close to the popular resort of Kusadasi.

There are three swimming pools on-site, one of which has waterslides, as well as kids clubs and a daily entertainment programme. Parents are not overlooked either, as there is a a Spa and Wellness area, five bars and two restaurants.

Sunway have package holidays departing on the 29th of October for seven nights that include flights, transfers, checked baggage and a seven-night stay here, with meals and drinks included. The price listed is based on a family of four, but check prices with Sunway for larger families.

9. Dubai, Flights & 5-Star Hotel All Inclusive: €5976

Halloween break is a great time to visit Dubai as temperatures are a lot lower than the hot summer months. Clearly it is not a cheap holiday, but the five-star Amwaj Rotana – Jumeirah Beach Hotel is well priced on an all-inclusive basis, which can be hugely beneficial when you consider the cost of dining out in Dubai.

10. London, Flights & Apartment, 2-Nights: €805

Right on our doorstep, London is a great city for a family break. Check out the London Dungeon and Tower Bridge – Halloween is the time to see it! And if your kids are like mine, they will love seeing Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and taking a spin on the London Eye.

There are numerous flights to choose from all Irish airports. I found the best value departing early morning on the 3rd of November and returning on the evening of the 5th of November – this gives you three days in London for €40 per person.
