From sun holidays to city breaks, theme park adventures to luxury five-star resorts, I’ve got 10 family holidays for Halloween break to suit all tastes and budgets.
Still searching for family holidays for Halloween break? I’ve done all the hard work for you and have some great options below to choose from. Whether you want a five-star holiday in Dubai, a beach holiday in the Canary Islands or a short break to London, I’ve got you covered.
TOP TIP: Prices are correct at the time of publication (1st August) but if lots of people are trying to access flights or accommodation at the same time, the prices may increase. If this happens, edit the search dates, or check back later – you may find the holiday is still available.
I have chosen random dates during the mid term break but you can edit the dates via the links below – you will see it is cheaper to depart the day before mid term officially starts, or return a day later.
Headline prices below are inclusive of flights and based on two adults and two children travelling, however many of the accommodation listed below can accommodate larger families – see individual deals for details.
If you are looking for some staycations over Halloween break – then check out this post:
1. Algarve, Flights & Apartment, 1 week: €1313
I am a regular visitor to the Algarve, and I enjoyed a family holiday for Halloween break here last year. I love its stunning beaches, great choice of restaurants and how family friendly it is.
There are multiple flights to Faro from Ireland but I found the best value departing from Dublin on the 28th of October with Aer Lingus and returning early morning with Ryanair on the 4th of November.
Similarly there are many different accommodation options to choose from. I have priced a two-bedroom apartment in the 3-star Balaia Golf Village, and an apartment in the 4-star Eden Resort below, but you can find my top recommendations for family holidays to the Algarve here.
Eden Resort €1134
2. Gran Canaria, Flights & Apartment, 1 week: €1871
The Canary Islands are the most popular destination for family holidays for Halloween, as traditionally it is the best place to guarantee some October sunshine. For this reason flight prices tend to be more expensive than other areas.
However, I found some good prices departing on October 31st and returning Monday November 7th. There are flights back on Sunday, but it is better value to stay the extra day if time allows – return flights for seven nights with Aer Lingus are €296 per person.
See flights here €296pp
There are many accommodation options to choose from. The Cala Dor apartments offer good value at just €762 for seven nights. Families of five can choose a two-bedroom apartment in the 4-star Las Villas de Amadores for €1220.
Family of 4 €687
Family of 5 €1220
3. PortAventura Short Breaks, Flights, Hotel & Park Admission: €1236

Treat the kids to a trip to PortAventura and Ferrari Land over the Halloween break. I have two great options – a five night stay in Cambrils with park passes included, or a three-night break staying on-site at PortAventura with daily access to the park.
Price including flights, hotel and park tickets is €1412 for a family of four, or €1805 for a family of five. See more details on family holidays for Halloween in PortAventura here:
4. Disneyland Paris, Flights, Hotel & 2-Day Park Passes, 3-Nights: €1434
Disneyland Paris is magical at any time of year but at Halloween you can expect plenty of spooky activities that the kids will love! Main Street U.S.A is full of pumpkins, flickering lights and creepy sounds while scary attractions like Phantom Manor and Tower of Terror have some additional spooky surprises in store.
Return flights to Orly airport are surprisingly well priced over Halloween break. Orly is only about 45 minutes from Disneyland Paris and return private transfers are just €138 for a family of four.
I found a great deal staying at the 4-star Hotel L’Eysée Val D’Europe, based on two adults and two children sharing. This highly-rated hotel is located in the popular shopping area of Val D’Europe, and as it is a Disney Partner hotel you can avail of the free shuttle bus to the parks.
I have also included prices for park tickets below. I suggest the 2-day hopper tickets which allow unlimited admission to both parks over two days. 1 and 3-day tickets are also available.
See flights here €121pp
View hotel here €426
Park Tickets here €524
5. Costa del Sol, Flights & Sunset Beach Apartment, 1 week: €1599
Irish owned, with daily entertainment and a beachfront location, it is no surprise that the 4-star Sunset Beach Club is one of the most popular places to stay on the Costa del Sol for families.
There are multiple flights to Malaga from Ireland but I found the best value departing from Dublin on the 30th of October with Aer Lingus and returning early morning with Ryanair on the 6th of November.
Sunset Beach €707
6. Cruise Holiday on MSC Seaview, Flights & 7-Day Med Cruise: €3546
This super deal is amazing value and the perfect introduction to cruising. MSC Seaview has excellent family facilities on board including a waterpark, kids clubs, Lego rooms and a Formula 1 simulator!
You will get the opportunity to visit Provence, Cinque Terre, Amalfi Coast, Sicily and Malta, before returning to Barcelona for your return flight home.
Price of €3546 is based on a family of four and includes return flights to Barcelona on the 28th of October, 10kg carry-on baggage per person, a 7-Night cruise on full board basis and pre-paid gratuities.
I have cruised with MSC on a few occasions, you can read my review of MSC Seaview here:

7. Rome City Break: Flights & Apartment, 3 Nights: €1289
Rome is a city that not only fascinates adults. Children will be in awe at Rome’s magnificent landmarks that they have heard so much about in school and seen on TV.
There are multiple flights to Rome from Ireland but I found the best value departing from Dublin on the 3rd of November with Ryanair, and returning on Sunday evening, 6th November with Aer Lingus.
I also found one apartment left in the Elegant apartments behind the Colosseum. These are very highly sought after for families, but I have lots more hotel and apartment suggestions in this post:
8. Turkey, Flights & 5-Star All Inclusive Resort, 1 week: €3357
The Palmwings Hotel Ephesus is a super All Inclusive resort that boasts a fabulous beachfront location close to the popular resort of Kusadasi.
There are three swimming pools on-site, one of which has waterslides, as well as kids clubs and a daily entertainment programme. Parents are not overlooked either, as there is a a Spa and Wellness area, five bars and two restaurants.
Sunway have package holidays departing on the 28th of October for seven nights that include flights, transfers, checked baggage and a seven-night stay here, with meals and drinks included. The price listed is based on a family of four, but check prices with Sunway for larger families.
9. Dubai, Flights & 5-Star Hotel Half Board: €5252
Halloween break is a great time to visit Dubai as temperatures are a lot lower than the hot summer months. Clearly it is not a cheap holiday, but the five-star Grand Hyatt Dubai is offering a free upgrade to Half Board, which can be a huge saving when you consider the cost of dining out in Dubai.
I have chosen direct flights from Dublin to Dubai with Emirates on the 31st of October and a four-night stay in the Grand Hyatt, based on a family of four sharing. If you prefer to extend your stay, simply edit the dates via the search below.

10. London, Flights & Apartment, 2-Nights: €726
Right on our doorstep, London is a great city for a family break. Check out the London Dungeon and Tower Bridge – Halloween is the time to see it! And if your kids are like mine, they will love seeing Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and taking a spin on the London Eye.
You could also choose to extend your stay and bring the kids to Legoland – there are so many things to do in London with kids. Check out this post for more ideas:
There are numerous flights to choose from all Irish airports. Ryanair have flights from Shannon airport to Stansted for €14.99 one way. I found the best value departing early morning on the 3rd of November and returning on the evening of the 5th of November – this gives you three days in London for €40 per person.
Similar flight times from Cork airport are €66pp, while Ireland West Airport ( Knock) have return flights from €50 per person, and Dublin airport €37 per person.
I have chosen a superior apartment in the Lincoln Suites below, but there are cheaper options available depending on your budget.
Search flights from €37pp
Lincoln Suites €730
I hope one of these family holidays for Halloween will suit you, and you will be jetting off on that well deserved holiday soon. While every effort is made to ensure accuracy, facilities and amenities can change.
