I love the freedom and space that a self catering holiday home provides, but I also like to have facilities like leisure centres and restaurants on my doorstep. With this in mind I searched the web to find some gorgeous holiday homes and Airbnbs in Ireland with swimming pools, or have complimentary access to hotel pools or leisure centres. I have holiday homes and apartments in all shapes and sizes, from all over Ireland, so hopefully there will be one here to suit you.

1. Catherine’s Cottage at Ross Castle, Co. Galway – 3 bedrooms
Catherine’s Cottage is one of three, three-bedroomed courtyard cottages at Ross Castle. All cottages have access to the grounds and gardens of the estate, as well as the indoor heated swimming pool, billiards room, tennis court and the lake with boats.
Catherine’s cottage offers all modern comforts including underfloor heating, but also retains a rustic charm with exposed wood and repointed stone walls. With Connemara, the Aran Islands and the Wild Atlantic Way close by, this is a super location to explore Ireland’s west coast. 2. Kenmare Holiday Residences, Kerry – 4 bedrooms
Situated on the famous Ring of Kerry, the Kenmare Holiday Residences are one of the most sought after holiday homes or Airbnbs in Ireland with swimming pools. Guests can enjoy full access to the Kenmare Bay Hotel Pool and Leisure Centre, just steps away from your home. The home is also wheelchair accessible, something which is a rare find.See more here
3. Seal Cottage, Castletownbere, West Cork – 3 bedrooms
Seal Cottage must be one of Ireland’s most exclusive holiday homes. Located in the upmarket Waterfall, West Cork, with a private beach, mooring, and a pool onsite, you couldn’t ask for better. Next door is Waterfall House, which was once the official residence of a Royal Naval commodore, and was subsequently bought by film director Neil Jordan.
There swimming pool is solar heated and available for use from April to September, depending on weather. There is also a traditional Scandinavian sauna in the woods and a miniature lake.
4. The Lime House with outdoor natural pool, Slane, Co. Meath – 6 Bedrooms
If you are looking for large Airbnbs in Ireland for groups, then look no further than The Lime House eco lodge – it can sleep up to 22 people. There are six ensuite bedrooms, as well as a wood-fired hot tub*, pizza oven and BBQ area beside the house. There is also a natural swimming pool about 300 metres away, which can be used all year round, but warmest from May to September.
5. Gleneagle apartments, Killarney, Co. Kerry – 2 bedrooms
The Gleneagle Hotel is one of Killarney’s most popular hotels and these two-bedroom apartments offer all the advantages of staying at the hotel, with the space and convenience of self catering. The apartments can sleep up to five, with two double bedrooms, two bathrooms and an open plan living / dining area.
Guests have complimentary use of the leisure facilities of the hotel, including a 25m swimming pool, kids pool, gym, squash and tennis courts, pitch and putt (minimum charge applies), snooker, children’s play centre, and kids and teen clubs during school holidays.
6. Golf Lodge at Mount Juliet Estate, Co. Kilkenny – 4 bedrooms
This spacious 4-bedroom golf lodge in Mount Juliet Estate is a great find on Airbnb. I stayed in Mount Juliet recently and loved it. The house is very well equipped and modernly furnished with a dining suite for 10 and a log burning stove – perfect for a large family get together.
The large south facing garden is furnished with an outdoor table and chairs, and you also have access to the Mount Juliet’s swimming pool and gardens.
7. Quilty Holiday Cottages, Co. Clare – 3 & 4 bedrooms
The traditional Quilty Holiday Cottages are located on Clare’s coast and offer panoramic views on the Atlantic Ocean. There are a variety of holiday homes available and most offer complimentary access to the indoor swimming pool and tennis courts.
These are the holy grail of summer holiday homes, but I think it would be gorgeous during the winter months too. Imagine walking the Cliffs of Moher on crisp cold day, and returning to an open fire in your cottage – bliss!

Nearby Caherush Lodge is a four-bedroom house that also shares the indoor heated pool with Quilty Holiday Cottages residents. This can also be rented on Airbnb and it sleeps up to ten people. If you are looking for a group of Airbnbs in Ireland with swimming pools, these might tick all boxes.
8. Kilronan Castle Holiday Home, Co. Roscommon – 3 bedrooms
These three-bedroom homes enjoy an enviable position on the grounds of Kilronan Castle Estate. This stunning hotel is surrounded by 40 acres of grounds on the shores of Lough Meelagh. You will have full access to the hotel swimming pool, spa, and gym, and the house all all mod cons including a 40 inch smart TV for cosy nights in.

9. Ballyisrode Apartment with outdoor natural pool. Co. Cork – 1 bedroom
This one bedroom home is ideally suited to a couple or small family during the summer months. It boasts a natural pool (deep) in the gardens as well as a sheltered sundeck and BBQ. You can enjoy super sea-views and views of Fastnet Rock from your private south-facing terrace.
Try some of the great restaurants in nearby Schull, or enjoy exploring the Cork and Kerry coastline, with the Beara Peninsula, Mizen Head, Kinsale and the Ring of Kerry all close by.
10. Coynes House – renovated historic Clifden townhouse, Co. Galway – 3 bedrooms
Clifden is one of the most saught after Irish holiday towns, and this newly renovated townhouse is located right in the centre. With three bedrooms, a private courtyard and a balcony overlooking the bay, it is firmly on my own Airbnb wish list!
It is very well equipped with good WiFi, Netflix and a Nespresso coffee machine, and included in the rate is complimentary use of the leisure centre ( subject to restrictions), located just two minutes walk from the house.
11. The Residence at Breaffy House Resort, Mayo – 2 bedroom apartment
I had the pleasure of holidaying in these apartments last summer and had a wonderful time. This is a privately owned 2-bedroom apartment that is located on the grounds of Breaffy House Resort and has access to the swimming pool and hotel facilities. Located in Castlebar, and only twenty minutes from Westport and the Wild Atlantic Way, this is great value for a such a prime location.
12. Blackberry Lodge at Renvyle House Hotel, Galway – 4 bedrooms
Blackberry Lodge offers the best of both worlds, a relaxing holiday home with the advantage of being able to avail of the fabulous facilities at Renvyle House Hotel.
The house boasts two deck/patio areas on different levels, with outdoor speakers and a built-in gas barbecue, as well as an elevated wooden deck with fire pit, with spectacular views. Renvyle Beach, is just 1km from the house, and all of Connemara’s top attractions are available to explore. Note this home is only available for rental during the months of May – Sept.
13. Luxury Riverside Home, in Ballina / Killaloe, Tipperary – 4 bedrooms
This modern architecturally designed holiday home is superbly located on the banks of the River Shannon. It has been designed in an open plan style and boasts high ceilings and lots of glass to allow in as much light as possible.
The mature secure gardens and wooden deck with BBQ are the perfect combination for enjoy outdoor dining, and there are gorgeous river views to enjoy. Its location is ideal for boat trips along the Shannon, as well as day trips to nearby Limerick, Clare and Galway. There are plenty of water activities available nearby, including the town’s outdoor pool, and the local hotel has an indoor heated pool that is available for use – fee for entry.
14. Sunnybank House with private pool, Clifden, Galway – 11 Bedrooms
Located in the heart of Connemara this 11-bedroomed country estate can sleep 16+ guests. It has an outdoor pool that is heated from late May – mid September, as well as a sauna and tennis court. It is just 150 metres from the town square, where you will find a great selection of bars and restaurants. The nearby private leisure centre with indoor heated pool and gym is also available for use all year around.
15. Ballylickey House and Garden Lodges with heated outdoor pool, Co. Cork – 2 bedrooms
These gorgeous two-bedroom luxury lodges are set within seven acres of gardens in Ballylicky House. Located close to Bantry Bay, with Killarney, the Ring of Kerry and West Cork on your doorstep, this is a superb base to explore the Cork and Kerry coastline. You also have the added advantage of having access to the heated outdoor swimming pool, during your stay.
16. Sheen Falls Country Club, Kenmare, Co. Kerry – 4 bedrooms
This luxury detached four-bedroom house at Sheen Falls Country Club in Kenmare is furnished to the highest standard, and provides complimentary access to the swimming pool at the Sheen Falls Lodge Hotel. Kenmare is located on the Ring of Kerry and is a delightful town with a great selection of shops, bars and restaurants to suit all tastes.
17. The Gate Lodge at Lough Erne Resort, Co. Fermanagh – 3 bedrooms
I stayed in the lavish Lough Erne Resort a few years ago and loved it. This three-bedroom Gate Lodge offers the best of both worlds – a luxury detached house offering all the independence of a home away from home, but with access to the five-star resort’s facilities including the spa facilities and fine dining options.
18. Millbank House with private pool, Mountrath, Co. Laois – 5 bedrooms
Millbank is an 18th century Georgian Country House that is ideal for a special occasion or extended family holiday. The main house has five bedrooms and can accommodate up to 13 people, and there is a separate 3 bedroomed cottage which can also be rented if required. The swimming pool, sauna and steam room are also at your disposal. All reviewers of Millbank have left a five-star rating, so this must be one of the best Airbnbs in Ireland with swimming pools.
19. The Boat House, Baltimore, Co. Cork – 4 bedrooms
West Cork is one of my favourite parts of Ireland and The Boat House location is idyllic. This four-bedroomed house is one of ten properties on an island estate, reached by a stone bridge. It is ideal for a large family, or if there are a group of families or friends who wish to travel together, you can rent more of the properties on Inis Beg estate.
It is also located close to Baltimore and Skibbereen, so if you fancy a change of scene, you don’t have too far to go. You will also have access to an indoor heated swimming pool during your stay.
20. The Mullins apartment on the grounds of the Mill Park Hotel, Co. Donegal – 2 bedrooms
An Airbnb in Donegal, with access to a swimming pool is a rare find! This super two-bedroom apartment overlooks the Mill Park Hotel and is less than a 10 minute walk from the town centre.
Two guests will have access to the hotel’s pool, gym, jacuzzi and steam room, and children under three are free. If there are any additional guests sharing, a charge will apply payable directly to the hotel. The hotel also has a restaurant and bar.
21. Old World Converted Stableyard with private pool, Co. Dublin – 4 bedrooms
This four-bedroom home is one of the most luxurious Airbnbs in Dublin, and is arguably one of the most popular Airbnbs in Ireland with swimming pools. Not only does the house have a private pool that is heated all year round, but there is also a sauna and golf clubs available for you to enjoy.
Its idyllic location offers the sense of being in the country with views of Phoenix Park, yet it is located just ten minutes from Dublin city.
22. Mount Hanover House, with private pool, Co Meath – 9 bedrooms
This unique period country house is located in the heart of the Boyne Valley, in Ireland’s Ancient East. The house boasts nine bedrooms and a large dining room that seats up to twelve. While retaining its traditional features, it has been fully modernised and offers its own indoor swimming pool, changing rooms and sauna, games room with dart board, table tennis and gaming consoles.
There are mature gardens with walkways for nature lovers, and a sunny conservatory or patio area with BBQ, for relaxing during summer days. There is also a tennis pavillion with all weather floodlit tennis courts, barbecue, pizza oven, smoker and sink.
23. Coach House At Glashnacree House & Gardens, Co. Kerry – 2 bedrooms
The Coach house is set within a private garden estate overlooking Kenmare Bay on the Ring of Kerry. There are ten acres of woodlands and gardens to explore, and you have access to a heated pool from April to October, as well as fire pit, grill and outdoor seating.
The property has two ensuite bedrooms, a large sitting room with flat screen TV and a wood burning stove. There is another property on the estate, the Caretakers Cottage which can be rented if a group of friends of families wish to travel together. This would allow exclusive use of the private pool, gardens and fire pit, if both houses were rented together.
24. Greenway Gem near Mulranny Beach, Co. Mayo – 3 bedrooms
If you haven’t visited Mulranny beach yet, you don’t know what you are missing! This spacious three-bedroom home is located just ten minutes from the beach and one minute from the Greenway cycle track (which goes all the way from Westport to Achill). The house provides access to Mulranny Park Hotel’s facilities close by. You can enjoy free access to the pool, leisure centre and gym, and enjoy a choice of dining options too.
The house offers stunning views with sunny areas at front and back, as well as has an outdoor patio area well equipped with Netflix, an Xbox, books, a few toys and boardgames for all the family.

25. Driney House with private jetty, Co. Leitrim – 4 Bedrooms
This four-bedroom house is located on the waterways in Leitrim. There is a private jetty and access to the lake just 50 metres from the garden, and there is also a heated indoor pool with lake view, which is open from April 1st – December 31st.
The BBQ and outdoor terrace offer the perfect place for al-fresco dining, and the house is well equipped with WiFi and a fireplace if you fancy a cosy night in.
