Think river cruises were for over 55’s? Think again! The world’s most luxurious river cruise line Uniworld, has launched the first-ever river cruise brand dedicated for younger travellers, U by Uniworld.
Before you start thinking of all night parties and fast-food, I should point out that U by Uniworld’s river cruises are on luxury five star ships! The food on board is superb, the ships are beautifully furnished and they provide immersive experiences across some of Europe’s most sought after cities. Expect culinary delights inspired by street food, with creative mixologists and international DJ’s onboard, as well as longer stays in each port to get off the beaten track.
Unlike ocean cruises, you will dock right in the heart of the city – no lengthy disembarkation or bus journeys to reach your destination. You can choose one of U by Uniworld’s guided excursions, or choose to go it alone and explore independently. Whatever you choose the U staff will be on hand to recommend choices to suit you, whether you are a foodie, an adventure seeker, romantic or even a night owl.
Yes you did read that night, unlike most cruises you are free to disembark the ship at night time too, in some cases you even overnight in cities. Explore Paris alone to see the Eiffel Tower lit up, take in a concert in Vienna or let one of the U hosts bring you to their favourite nightclub in Amsterdam. When you return back to the ship there will be entertainment on board as well as an international DJ to play tunes into the small hours.
U by Uniworld have two ships and both can carry up to 120 passengers. If you don’t fancy leaving the ship you can opt for some ‘U’ time on board. Work out in the gym and enjoy complimentary yoga and TRX classes. There are also painting, wine, mixology and cookery classes on board. I love that the Chefs Table Cooking Classes are co-ordinated to show local dishes from each destination you visit. If you just want to relax, let one of the mixologists make you a cocktail and take in the scenic river views from the contemporary rooftop lounge. Just check out their hashtag #TravelforU for some dreamy shots like this one!
