From Cork to Donegal, Kilkenny to Kerry, I’ve got 20 self catering breaks in Ireland this summer.
I know many people are still searching for self catering breaks in Ireland in July and August, so I have picked out some that might suit below. All have received good reviews from previous guests, and have flexible booking options. I also found some options with access to swimming pools.
I have priced these self catering breaks in Ireland for three-night stays in in July or August, but dates and durations can be changed to suit your requirements, simply click on the links below and edit the search dates accordingly.

1. Carrick Plaza Suites, Carrick On Shannon, Leitrim,
3-Night Stays 13th, 20th, 27th July, 8th August: 2-bedroom apartment €717
Located in the heart of Carrick-On-Shannon, these modern two-bedroomed apartments sleep up to six, and three-bedroomed apartments sleep up to eight. Both boast panoramic views over the River Shannon. Take a cruise along the river, and enjoy Lough Key Forest Park. and the Blueway Waterpark (above) which is located 15 minutes away. The apartments are only a few minutes walk to the centre of this vibrant town.
2. Croan Cottages, Kilkenny:
3-Night stays, Various dates in July & August: 2 bedroom cottages €682, 3 bedroom €738
This group of five self-catering cottages are ideal for an individual family stay, or for groups of friends and families who wish to holiday together. The two and three-bedroom cottages are detached and each has an an open fire, a private furnished patio and barbecue area, and they have been given Failte Ireland’s highest self-catering rating of four stars. Pets are permitted to stay with their owners in some of their cottages.

3. Three-bedroom Home on the Ring of Kerry, Killorglin:
3 Night stay: Various dates July & August €900
This charming hilltop home is located on the Ring of Kerry and offers stunning views of the highest mountain in Ireland, Carrauntouhill. Dingle bay can also be seen, as well as the town of Killorglin, which is just a five minute drive / 15 minute walk from the house.
Killorglin has a wide selection of shops, bars and restaurants and is located just 13 miles from Killarney and 32 miles from Dingle. The gorgeous Blue Flag beach at Rossbeigh is just a short drive away. See more like this here:
4. Kilronan Castle 3-bedroom Home with pool access, Co. Roscommon:
3-Night stay: Various dates July & August €900
This three-bedroom home enjoys and enviable position on the grounds of Kilronan Castle Estate. This stunning hotel is surrounded by 40 acres of grounds on the shores of Lough Meelagh. It is also located just 20 minutes from one of Ireland’s best adventure parks – Lough Key Forest Park.
Guests have access to the hotel swimming pool, spa, and gym, and the house receives great reviews from previous guests.
5. Clayton Hotel Sligo, 1 bedroom family suite (5) with kitchenette & pool access:

Set on beautiful grounds overlooking Benbulben Mountain, yet within walking distance of Sligo Town centre, the 4-star Clayton Sligo ticks all boxes for a family holiday in Ireland. The leisure centre has a separate kids pool, there is plenty of entertainment to keep the kids happy throughout the day. 6. Lakeside Retreat in Tourmakeady, Mayo
3-night stays: 8th July or 17th August, €433
I loved visiting Mayo last year and think this gorgeous house offers the best of both worlds – a peaceful lakeside location, with the benefit of being just over 20km from the Wild Atlantic Way and the vibrant town of Westport.
Enjoy magnificent views of the lake from inside the house or from the large furnished terrace. This one-bedroom home is a great find, and can sleep up to four people.
7. 200-Year old Thatched Cottage, Cork
3-night stay, various dates July & August €240
Tirna Spideoga is a 200 year-old property located between Inchigeelagh and Ballingeary at the start of the Beara Peninsula in West Cork. The location couldn’t be better as it gives you the opportunity to explore the counties of Cork and Kerry.
The nearby lake is great for fishing and the hosts organise deep-sea fishing trips and canoe rental. This delightful two-bedroom cottage is also pet friendly. I found this hidden gem on VRBO, who are a vacation rental company owned by the Expedia Group.
8. Staycity 2-bedroom apartment, Dublin Castle,
3-night stay, 18th July & August €660
A new edition to the capital, this aparthotel offers the benefits of apartment living, with the comforts of a hotel stay, in the heart of Dublin. Rated number 1 on Tripadvisor, this is a great place to stay in Dublin, with all the city highlights right on your doorstep. This apartment also happens to be wheelchair accessible.
9. Rathmullan Village Apartments, Donegal,
3-night stay, various dates July & August €660
Located just 300 metres from the beach at Rathmullan, these modern village apartments are well equipped and offer free WiFi. These are a great base to explore the Donegal coast line, its amazing beaches and the Slieve League Cliffs.
10. Two-bedroom Seaside Apartment, Galway
3-night stay, various dates July & August €668
The four-star Arús Grattan Holiday Apartments are a super choice if you want to be close to Galway city but also have the benefit of sea views from your balcony, and have a selection of beaches close by. Located on the Prom in Salthill, there is a wide selection of shops, bars and restaurants on your doorstep.

The Courtyard Apartments are located just 400 metres from the centre Castlebar and 26km from Mayo’s gorgeous coastline and the Wild Atlantic Way. We enjoyed a fabulous few days in Castlebar last summer and found the location ideal for exploring the county.
12. Jamestown Court 2-bedroom apartment, Salthill, Galway,
3-night stay, 12th July €1050
With a superb beachfront location in Salthill, these modern apartments offer stunning sea views and are beautifully furnished. With Galway city, Connemara and the Wild Atlantic Way on your doorstep, these will surely be one of the most popular options for self catering breaks in Ireland.

13. Self Catering at Lough Rynn, Roscommon
3-night stay: Various dates July & August €450
This three-bedroom house is located just 2-minutes walk from Lough Rynn Castle Hotel and 12 km from Carrick on Shannon. Take a cruise along the river, or enjoy an action packed day at Lough Key Forest Park or the Blueway Waterpark, which is just 30 minutes away. The beautiful Strandhill beach in Sligo is just an hour away.
14. St Anglea’s 3-bedroom apartment, Sligo,
3-night stay: 10th August, €470
If you want to explore the Wild Atlantic Way on a budget, then look no further! Anglea’s apartment boasts free WiFi, an onsite gym and views of theof Innisfree. Located just five miles from Sligo town, with Strandhill beach and Rosses Point close by, this is a great value option for self catering breaks in Ireland.
15. Johnstown Estate, 2-bedroom home with pool access,
3-night stay various dates July & August €627
Johnstown Estate is the ideal choice if you want a luxury break that is close to Dublin and the Boyne Valley. Set within 120 acres of stunning parkland, this 1750’s Georgian residence has extensive leisure and spa facilities, golf and horse riding, as well as a choice of dining options.
The two-bedroom self-catering lodges are perfect for families or groups who want to enjoy all the hotel’s facilities but enjoy the benefits of spacious self catering homes. Each lodge has a separate dining and relaxing area, a 43” smart TV, a terrace that opens onto a green with a small children’s play area, and a parking spot. 16. Montenotte Hotel, Cork, 2 bedroom Apartment with pool access:
Various dates in July & August, 3-Night stay – €1050
I have heard so many great things about the Montenotte Hotel, which has been recently refurbished and and offers stunning views of Cork city. With a state of the art leisure centre, an in-house cinema and this cosy outdoor terrace, it is one of the most popular places to stay in Cork.

17. Luxury Apartment in Kinsale’s Marina, Cork
3-night stay Various dates July & August €1259
This fabulous duplex penthouse apartments has an outstanding location on Kinsale’s marina. Its stylish interior has New York loft style vibes, and it is furnished to a five-star standard – including a solid walnut dining table can seat up to eight! However, with Kinsale’s gourmet restaurants on your doorstep – the famous Fishy Fishy restaurant is next door to the apartment, you may prefer to dine out.
Note: Due to 19 steps inside and outside the apartment this property is not suited for elderly, infirm or children under 10 years old.
18. Benbulben Court, Sligo

A selection of one and two-bedroom apartments close to Sligo town centre and Ireland’s most distinctive mountain, Benbulben, these apartments are a great value choice for families looking to explore the Wild Atlantic Way.
There is an onsite reception opened daily should you need anything during of your stay, and guests can enjoy discounted swimming pool and gym rates in the nearby Clayton Hotel. The reviews from previous guests are excellent, and the opportunities for day trips are endless.
19. Bellavista Apartments, Cobh, Cork

The Bellavista Hotel & self-catering suites offer beautiful views of Cork Harbour in the pretty town of Cobh. With a traditional Irish bar and a Chinese restaurant on site, and the popular Titanic Experience and Fota Wildlife close by, this is a great choice for families looking for a self catering breaks in Ireland.

20. Castle Oaks House Hotel, 2-bedroom Courtyard Apartment with pool access, Limerick:
3-Night stay: 27th July OR 8th August : €695
Set in 26 acres of grounds, and beautifully situated on the banks of the River Shannon, this Georgian Manor House Hotel is a great choice for self catering breaks in Ireland.
The Courtyard Suites are located just a one minute walk from the reception area. There are two double bedrooms with a spacious living area and kitchenette. Guests can enjoy access to the hotel facilities including breakfast in the hotel restaurant for a small supplement, as well as access to the River Leisure Club and pool.
