Spa hotel breaks always sounds expensive, but they don’t have to be. All of the hotels listed below are four or five-star, highly rated on TripAdvisor, and most are less than €90 per person!

1. Farnham Estate Spa & Golf Resort, Cavan: B&B €92pp
Farnham Estate’s multi-award-winning Spa boasts a large indoor pool, an outdoor infinity pool, mud chamber, ice fountain, forest walkways and a wide selection of treatment options.
There is also an 18-hole golf course, superb dining options and 1300 acres of grounds for you to explore. A stay in Farnham Estate will feel like a real treat, as it has one of the best spas in Ireland.
2. Brooklodge Hotel & Spa, Wicklow: B&B €72pp
BrookLodge is set in its own unique village and is one of Ireland’s most loved hotels. It is famous for its delicious organic food – in fact it won Hotel Restaurant of the Year and Culinary Hotel of the Year, but is also renowned for its Spa and Wellness experiences.
The Wells Spa is an adult-only Spa that offers treatments from organic product ranges such as Voya and Babor. Guests can avail of the Serail mud chamber, aroma baths, hamam, flotation room, finnish baths, double treatment rooms, as well as various Jacuzzi & water features, indoor pool, heated loungers and an outdoor hot tub.
3. Redcastle Hotel & Spa, Co. Donegal: Double Room, €62pp
The Redcastle Hotel offers superb value to explore the Inishowen Peninsula. However, with a waterfront location, 9-hole golf course and Thalasso Spa, you may find it difficult to leave.
Make sure to seek out Kinnagoe Bay and Mamore Gap, two of Ireland’s true hidden gems and spend some time exploring Malin Head. You could also combine this spa break with a trip to Derry city, it is less than 30 minutes drive from the hotel.
4. Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort, Co. Carlow: Deluxe Twin: €65pp
Enjoy spa treatments with Elemis beauty products at the luxury spa, or walk in the footsteps of some of the world’s best golfers, on the championship golf course – perhaps you could do both? There are great dining options too.
5. 5-star Mount Juliet Estate, Kilkenny Twin Room B&B: €98pp

Mount Juliet Estate consists of two residences, the original Georgian Manor House and the chic Hunter’s Yard. This super deal is based on staying in Hunter’s Yard and includes breakfast. Why not treat yourself to a meal in the Michelin-starred Lady Helen restaurant, and make it a stay to remember.

6. Breaffy House Hotel, Co. Mayo: B&B, €76pp

We stayed in Breaffy House Resort on two occasions and had a wonderful experience. There is a large swimming pool and spa on site and if you like wine, make sure you take a tour of their cellar! I loved Mayo. There is so much to see and do, check out my blog posts here:

7. Ballyliffin Lodge & Spa, Donegal, €59pp
This award-winning 4-star hotel boasts fantastic views of Malin Head and is an ideal choice if you want to escape to the unspoilt Inishowen Peninsula. With a swimming pool, spa, and the popular Jacks Bar and Restaurant, it is no surprise that it receives excellent reviews on TripAdvisor from previous guests.
8. Slieve Russell Hotel, Cavan: Dinner, B&B from €105pp
I had the pleasure of staying in the Slieve Russell Hotel recently and loved its stylish new decor, woodland walks and great food. It is set in 300 acres, surrounded by lakes and a Championship golf-course, as well boasting a a 20-metre swimming pool and luxurious spa.
In October, November and December you can enjoy a sneaky night away with a two-course meal and a full Irish breakfast the following morning for just €105 per person. Most Sunday nights are available at this price and limited dates for Friday night stays.

10. Ferrycarrig Hotel, Co. Wexford: Double Room, €62pp
The highly rated Ferrycarrig Hotel offers stylish and spacious accommodation overlooking the river Slaney. It is renowned for its great food, olympic-sized pool and active health club and spa. Rated as excellent on TripAdvisor, this is great value for a spa hotel break.

11. Silver Tassie Hotel & Spa, Donegal, B&B €62pp
If you have been following me this summer, you will know I fell in love with Donegal when I was there in June. This deal staying in the Silver Tassie Hotel & Spa offers superb value, and is ideally located to explore Donegal’s gorgeous coastline and top attractions.
However, if you just want to relax, the hotel’s Seascape Spa that specialises in Donegal seaweed baths, should do the trick!

Johnstown Estate is a super choice if you are looking for luxury spa hotel breaks close to Dublin. Set within 120 acres of stunning parkland, this 1750’s Georgian residence has extensive leisure and spa facilities, golf and horse riding, as well as a choice of dining options.
Johnstown Estate invested 3.6 million in a ‘New Spa’ during lockdown, and it is now the Flagship Destination Spa for Elemis & Gharieni in Ireland. A new Rooftop Experience has been added to the already impressive Thermal Suite, and there are 15 treatment rooms, including a Rasul mud and mineral treatment chamber, and a couples room.
15. 5-Star Lough Erne Resort, Co. Fermanagh: Twin Room B&B, €99pp
We stayed in Lough Erne resort a few years ago and loved it. It’s stunning location on a 600-acre peninsula was just one of the reasons, the top quality food and service were others. It caters equally well for couples and families and offers a host of activities including two Championship Golf Courses and a unique Thai inspired Spa.
Lough Erne Resort has also won numerous awards including Hotel Restaurant of the Year and Hotel of the Year. It is also a great choice for spa hotel breaks.

Enjoying a town centre location with a reputation for great service and facilities, the Clayton Whites Hotel is one of Wexford’s best known hotels. As well as a 20-metre pool there is a Tranquillity Spa with thermal suite and forty different treatments available.

17. Midlands Park Hotel, Laois, €57pp
The Midlands Park Hotel is located in the centre of Portlaoise and has a health and fitness club with a 22 metre pool, spa and fitness centre. There is a choice of dining options available, including the award-winning Kelly’s Steakhouse. We dined here at Christmas time and the food was superb.

The Midlands Park Hotel is ideally located to explore the many attractions in Laois and Kilkenny, and Kildare Village Shopping Outet is only 30 minutes drive away.
18. Westmeath: Sheraton Athlone, €55pp
Located in the heart of Athlone, the highly rated Sheraton Hotel ticks all boxes for an overnight escape. It has a 20 metre pool, a luxury spa, and stylish dining options. All guests receive the property’s Platinum Card, which provides discounts on a number of shops in Athlone town centre.

Set amongst 25,000 acres of the Killarney National Park, all of Killarney’s highlights are right on your doorstep. If you can manage to tear yourself away from Killarney’s stunning scenery, the spa and dining options at the hotel are superb.
