Clare’s Hotel Woodstock is a family run country house on the grounds of Woodstock Golf and Country Club. Located just 4km from Ennis and a short drive to the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren, the possibilities for day trips are endless. The onsite Leisure Club with pool, sauna and jacuzzi will be a warmly welcomed after spending a day along the Wild Atlantic Way.

The newly refurbished Springhill Court Hotel Kilkenny is very popular with families, thanks to the swimming pool with separate kids pool, kids club, and family friendly dining options. I visited Kilkenny last summer and loved it – there are so many things to do in Kilkenny with kids.

The Midlands Park Hotel is located in the centre of Portlaoise and has the added benefit of a health and fitness club with a 22 metre pool. There is a choice of dining options available, including Kelly’s Steakhouse and the intimate Triog Restaurant.

The 3-Star Parkavon Hotel is ideally perfectly located within walking distance of Killarney town centre and Killarney National Park. It also boasts a leisure centre which should keep the kids happy. This is great value for a family stay in Killarney.
5. Mill Park Hotel, Donegal, Family Room: €440
Located close to Donegal town, with some of Ireland’s best beaches and the Wild Atlantic Way on your doorstep, this is a great choice for a family holiday in Ireland. There is a swimming pool, children’s pool, sauna, and state-of-the-art gym onsite, as well as a choice of dining options.
6. Ballykisteen Golf Hotel, Tipperary: Family room €258
Treat yourself to a round of golf on the superb 18-hole Championship Parkland Golf Course, or relax in the leisure centre with pool, jacuzzi and sauna. The popular Junction One Bar and Restaurant, will serve up tasty food to round off your day in style. This 4-star hotel in Tipperary is one of the best value family breaks in Ireland.

With a Leisure Club, swimming pool and popular restaurant on site, and its close proximity to Mayo’s top attractions, including Down Patrick Head and the Wild Atlantic Way, this is a great choice for a family holiday in Ireland.
8. Slieve Russell Hotel, Co. Cavan, Family Room B&B: €482
The Slieve Russell Hotel is set in 300 acres, surrounded by lakes and a Championship golf-course, as well boasting a a 20-metre swimming pool, luxurious spa and a choice of family-friendly dining options. There is also a Kids Club onsite with a games room, tennis courts, adventure golf and a teen spa.
9. Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort, Carlow,Family Room: €524
Famous for its championship golf course and award-winning spa, Mount Wolseley is a great choice for a family break in Ireland. Children are well looked after with a kiddies pool, zip line, soft play area, and a teen zone which is open until 11pm daily. A kids club for children aged 4-12 usually operates during school holidays, and there is a playground, tennis and basketball court.

Located just 20 minutes from Galway City, within easy access to the Wild Atlantic Way, and with a leisure centre and large family rooms, this is a great value choice for family breaks in Ireland. This super deal can accommodate a family of five.

Boasting stunning river views over the Shannon, a leisure centre on site, and a choice of dining options, this is one of the most popular hotels in the Limerick. Located within walking distance of the city, and with the Wild Atlantic Way and numerous beaches close by, the possibilities for day trips are endless.

Overlooking Dublin Bay, I love the location of this hotel. I enjoy walking the family friendly Killiney Hill Walk regularly. Of course you can also take a short Dart ride to Dublin city, or simply relax and enjoy the pool – this great hotel is a great choice for a family break in the capital.
13. Derrynane Hotel, Kerry, €538
The Derrynane Hotel is a superb choice if you are looking to explore the Ring of Kerry and the Wild Atlantic Way. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, and boasting an outdoor swimming pool, tennis court and fitness centre, families will love the location and facilities.
14. 5-Star Intercontinental Hotel, Dublin, Family Room: €740
We had the pleasure of staying in the Intercontinental Hotel recently and loved the experience. The standard family rooms are extremely spacious, I’m told the most spacious of all five-star hotels in Dublin. However if your budget allows, upgrade to one of the executive suites which have a balcony and can easily accommodate a family of five.
You can choose to dine in the Lobby Bar or the elegant Seasons Restaurant, both of which have superb kids menus, that are very well priced. There is a health club with a 14 metre pool which children can also avail of, and if you fancy a stroll before dinner, Sandymount beach and Herbert Park are both close by.
15. Maryborough Hotel, Cork, Family Room, €410
The Maryborough is one of Cork’s most loved hotels. Housed in an 18th-century building, yet furnished in contemporary style, this hotel receives excellent reviews on TripAdvisor.
With an award-winning restaurant, state-of-the-art leisure centre, luxurious ESPA, and surrounded by 300-year-old listed gardens – this is a great choice for a mother and daughter spa break in Ireland.
