If you can manage to tear yourself away from Killarney’s stunning scenery, the spa and dining options at the hotel are superb.

Mount Juliet Estate consists of two residences, the original Georgian Manor House and the chic Hunter’s Yard. This super deal is based on staying in Hunter’s Yard and includes breakfast! Why not treat yourself to a meal in the Michelin-starred Lady Helen restaurant, and make it an overnight stay to remember. I stayed in Mount Juliet last summer and loved it.

10. The G Hotel & Spa – Galway: €157pp B&B
Last, but most definitely not least, is the popular G Hotel & Spa in Galway. This luxurious offering is great value for a five star hotel in Ireland. It’s daring and colourful design make it the ultimate spot for an overnight stay, and breakfast is also included in the price.
11. The Morrison Hotel – Dublin: €162pp
The Morrison Dublin, Curio Collection by Hilton is located just five minutes from Temple bar and O’ Connell Street, and a few minutes walk from the nearest Luas (tram) station. Its modern bar and restaurant is as popular with locals as well as tourists, and there is a fitness centre onsite too.
This five-star hotel is more reasonably priced than other five star hotels close by, and is a good value choice for a central stay in the city.
12. Lyrath Estate – Kilkenny, B&B, €105pp

Set amidst 170 acres of parkland, Lyrath Estate is a luxury hotel with spa, indoor infinity pool, and two award-winning restaurants, yet only five minutes drive to Kilkenny city.
The spa boasts a thermal suites with hydrotherapy pool and heated massage beds, and there are a host of luxurious treatments available.
13. Carton House – Kildare, B&B, €162pp
Following an extensive redesign, Carton House reopened this year and is now Ireland’s only Fairmont managed hotel. Officially still a four-star hotel, I’m sure it won’t be long until it is classed as five-star.
The Carton House Spa is housed in the 18th century mill building, and boasts an 18 metre swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, as well as a two-storey gymnasium. Make sure to avail of one of the carefully chosen treatments, with luxury brands such as Margaret Dabbs and Aromatherapy Associates.
14. Trump International Doonbeg – Clare, B&B, €168pp
Whatever you may feel about its owner, the seaside location of Tump International Doonbeg is hard to beat. There are not many 5 star hotels in Ireland beside the beach, and of course the spectacular golf links course is another top attraction.
There is also a luxury Spa on-site and a choice of dining options in the Ocean View Restaurant, as well as the more relaxed Trumps Bar and Restaurant at the 18th hole.
15. Fota Island Resort & Spa – Cork, B&B, €150pp
If you are looking for one of the best 5 star hotels in Ireland for families, then this is one to consider. As well as its close proximity to Fota Wildlife Park, it also boasts great family friendly facilities on site, including a kids camp during school holidays, a fairy trail, playground, and swimming pool.
The Spa features a hydrotherapy pool, with Ireland’s only walking river, which is renowned for its assistance in healing sports and fatigue related injuries. You will also find an 18-metre pool, gym and 18 different treatment rooms.
