Home to Europe’s largest market square, a trendy Jewish quarter and cracking nightlife, why not spend the October bank holiday weekend in Krakow.
A UNESCO world heritage site, the old town is lined with impressive buildings and museums including the famous Wawel castle. Although actively involved in the 2nd world war, the city remains completely in tact with stunning architecture at every corner. The Jewish quarter, Kazimierz is bustling with restaurants, pubs and clubs and is the pulse of the city. There are free guided walking tours which give you an account of what happened during the second world war, including a stop at Oskar Schindler’s factory. Nearby Auschwitz , although harrowing, is also an extremely worthwhile visit if you are feeling up to it. At night time you have to check out the live music at some of the back street basement clubs after a meal at one of Krakow’s many great restaurants.
Fly from Dublin on Friday the 27th of October and enjoy a three night stay at the centrally located Wyspianski Hotel for only €363 per person. This hotel is highly rated on tripadvisor and is a great choice to explore all that Krakow has to offer. Krakow combines medieval city and modern superbly and it a top city break destination – go see it!
