Best travel deals

I’ve searched the web so you don’t have to! My best travel deals include last minute holidays, winter breaks, city breaks, cruise deals, early booking offers for next summer, and staycations for couples and families.

This week I have a last minute five-star holiday for less than €400, Christmas lights in Malaga City, Christmas on the ski slopes, a luxury river cruise, and early booking offers to Greece for next summer. 4-Star Holiday Deal to Malta, 17th November, 1 week, €292pp

malta-292181_1280_opt

Malta is steeped in history and culture, and is blessed with 300 days of sunshine. This holiday deal to Malta is the perfect way to experience it.

For a small island in the Mediterranean, just 17 miles long and 9 miles wide, Malta sure packs a few punches. Its natural beauty can be seen in the many limestone cliffs, turquoise waters and hidden coves that are dotted around the island, and it is also home to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites. With an average temperatures of 20 degrees in November, and great value airfares, this holiday deal to Malta is the perfect winter break.

Take a boat trip to the famous Blue Lagoon, go snorkelling in its crystal clear waters or explore some of the many Game of Thrones locations – there are so many things to do in Malta

The capital, Valletta is one of the three UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Malta. With 320 historic monuments and a stunning natural harbour, no holiday to Malta would be complete without visiting this incredible city. Built by the Knights of St. John, it is described as ‘one of the most concentrated historic areas in the world’ by UNESCO.

One of the advantages of being a ‘small’ city is that rather than being full of massive international hotel chains, you can expect to find chic boutique hotels within the city walls. You will also discover trendy shops, bars and restaurants, and a lively atmosphere.

valletta is a must visit if on holiday to malta
There are many holiday resorts on the island but I have chosen Mellieha for my holiday deal to Malta. It is home to one of Malta’s best beaches, and is generally considered one of Malta’s more relaxing resorts.

The 4-star Hotel Solana has a hill top location in the centre of the city and offers stunning views from its roof-top pool. I have based this price on a standard room, but there are many room types available, including junior suites and studio apartments.

Weekend Break in Venice – 3 Nights, Flights & Hotel, 5th March, €253pp

Vaporetto on the Grand Canal, Venice

There has never been a better time to visit one of the world’s most beautiful cities. This weekend break in Venice is the perfect way to make up for lost time!

The unique floating city of Venice simply has to be visited at least once in a lifetime. It is romantic, captivating and will inspire you at every corner. There are so many iconic sights to see and this weekend break in Venice will give you the perfect opportunity to see them. With international visitors starting to return, you should be able to enjoy a holiday atmosphere, but without the massive crowds.

Sipping a latte on St Mark’s Square and taking a gondola ride through the canals, both cost a small fortune, but simply have to be done! There are plenty of things you can do for free though. Visit the Basilica di San Marco and the Campanile Tower, cross the famous Rialto bridge or simply wander through the back streets and alleyways and see every day Venetian life. Read my post about the top things to do in Venice here.

Weekend Break in Venice

I found a great deal in the superbly located Mercurio. It is located minutes from St Marks Square and great value for a weekend break in Venice. If you prefer a four-star hotel, you can book a classic double room with breakfast in the Saturnia and International for just €225 per person – I have links to both hotels below.

I have chosen Saturday the 5th of March, but if these dates don’t suit simply edit the search via the link below, to suit your requirements. The flights to Venice are with Aer Lingus and cost just €113 return, and depending on your budget you can choose any of the hotels below.

All are highly recommended on TripAdvisor and are located in the heart of the city. I have lots more hotel options in this post:

muckross hotel

Treat yourself and your Mum, friend or partner to a quick break away. I have selected 20 spa hotel breaks in Ireland from just €48 per person.

Spa hotel breaks always sounds expensive, but they don’t have to be. All of the hotels listed below are four or five-star, highly rated on Tripadvisor, and most are less than €75 per person! I originally wrote this post for Mothers Day, but of course you can bring a friend or partner too.

I have priced these spa hotel breaks based on overnight stays in November, but if that doesn’t suit, simply edit the dates when you click on the links below to suit your requirements.

It is important to note that some of the facilities / activities listed may have restrictions in place – please check with individual hotels for clarification.
