The Travel Expert’s Best Travel Deals – 20th July 2021

Best Travel Deals (2) (1)

This weeks best travel deals include summer holidays at home and abroad, winter breaks, half price river cruises, and early booking deals for 2022.

With international travel back on the horizon, now might be the time to plan a trip abroad.  I have a last minute deals in Greece, flights to the South of France for just €50 in September, all inclusive in St Lucia for just €1099, half price river cruises, ski holidays, and family offers to Lake Garda and Disneyland Paris. It is important to be aware that each country has their own entry requirements, and these can change at any time. Most countries require non-vaccinated people to produce proof of negative Covid tests on arrival. Some require PCR tests, others will accept Antigen tests, and child ages vary from country to country.

It is also vital that if you are vaccinated or have recovered from Covid that you have proof of this. If you have not yet received your Digital Covid Certificate, or need more information on testing or entry requirements, you can find out more in this post:

Latest travel updates on international travel – your questions answered

Most countries require passenger locator forms to be filled out in advance of travel – in some cases these have to be done 24 hours in advance. I have some advice and tips in these posts that you may find useful, but please check the latest updates with your airline or travel agent before you travel.

We enjoyed a fabulous few days in Breaffy House Hotel this summer. It is situated on 101 acres and there is a spa and swimming pool on site. It is also a great base to discover to some of Mayo’s top attractions, including Westport, Achill, Croagh Patrick and DownPatrick Head. Mount Juliet is one of the best value options for a five-star family staycation in Ireland. We stayed here last year and had a fantastic experience. The grounds, the facilities and the choice of dining options are superb.

I was surprised at the extensive children’s activities available in Mount Juliet. There is a large playground with a zip line, as well as a fairy trail located in the gardens. Extensive kids clubs usually operate during school holidays, (extra charge applies), so parents can enjoy a round of golf or spa treatment while the kids avail of the supervised activities.
