It is important to be aware of the latest travel restrictions, and that they are subject to change. Boosters are required for travel to most countries if initial vaccination is over 270 days, and Italy and Portugal also require negative tests at present.  Please check the latest updates with your airline or travel agent before you travel.

Rated number 1 on TripAdvisor for speciality lodging in Puerto del Carmen, this is great value for a spring break in the Canary Islands.

Many of you already know I am a big fan of Mount Juliet, but its not just the setting and service that I love, it is also so handy for an overnight escape. Kilkenny is accessible from most counties, so if you fancy a luxury break away that won’t break the bank, I found it!

Price for summer stays in June are available from €90pp including breakfast – a nice Valentines Day gift perhaps?  See this deal and more five-star hotel offers here:

Best family holiday:

family holiday deals from Ireland

The Protur Bonaire in Majorca is one of the most highly sought after family properties in Spain. Its kids clubs, splash park and overall family friendly facilities have seen it become a firm favourite with Irish families. However, it is rare to find Free Child Places still available in peak season, but I found some available in early August.

Price for flights, transfers, checked baggage, and a seven-night stay on a Half Board basis is €2,972, based on 2 adults and 2 children sharing. Note price will show at €3,222 when you click on the link below, but if you use the promo code SALE you will save a further €250 off the price.

Best family staycation:

family breaks in Sligo at the Clayton Hotel

Plan your Easter break now and enjoy a three-night stay with breakfast at the Clayton Hotel Sligo from just €437. This super hotel has great family friendly facilities including a fully supervised kids club, swimming pool, kids pool, mini-golf course, and fairy trail. Large family suites are also available that can accommodate families of five.

The Sentido Asterias Beach Resort is a brand new 5-star beachfront hotel in Rhodes that offers great value for a luxury holiday in Greece this summer. The reviews on TripAdvisor are excellent and prices are sure to increase.

I found return flights to Rhodes with Ryanair from €163 on the 27th of August, and a seven-night stay here on an All-Inclusive basis is €804 per person.

Ring in the New Year in New York! Direct flights are on sale to Newark with United Airlines and return airfares start at just €442 per person for the Basic Economy fare, but I recommend opting for the Economy fare of €532 which includes checked baggage, seat selection and free changes if required.

There are numerous hotels to choose to suit all tastes and budgets, but you can find my top picks here.

    • Hi Mary, Many thanks for your kind comments. I haven’t visited Ibiza with my family, but TUI have some good family hotels. I suggest having a look on their website or contacting your local travel agent. Cheers, Sarah
