Tips for Choosing Orlando Holidays
I spent months planning our family trip to Orlando and still made lots of mistakes! It is hard to fathom the sheer size and amount of activities available. There are over 100 standalone attractions as well as over 20 theme parks – there is a reason why Orlando is called the theme park capital of the world!
Walt Disney World is similar in size to Manchester! It has four main parks ( plus waterparks and Disney Springs ), while Universal Studios has 3 theme parks, so you need at least seven days if you want to see them all properly.
You may also wish to visit Legoland, Peppa Pig Theme Park, Seaworld, Gatorland, as well as waterparks, shopping malls and the many attractions on International Drive.
If it is your first time to visit, I recommend spending at least 10 days in Orlando, and longer if you want to have some pool time or shopping days in between.
1. Theme Park Orlando Holidays
Let’s face it, the main reason people visit Orlando is to experience its theme parks, so if you are planning on spending most of your time in the parks, then I suggest staying on International Drive or in one of the theme park hotels at Universal Studios or Walt Disney World.
American Sky have a choice of accommodation options in Orlando including great value options on International Drive, which is an 11 mile strip that is home to restaurants, shops and theme parks. I have picked two options there, as well as hotels that offer early park access to Universal Studios and Walt Disney World.
3-Star Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando: 14nts from €899pp
The Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando is a great choice for families or couples looking for a value stay on International Drive. You will find three swimming pools and three restaurants here, and children 9 and under eat free when dining with an adult, (one child per adult). This hotel receives great reviews on TripAdvisor from previous guests.
There is a free shuttle service to Universal Studios and Aquatica, and a chargeable shuttle to Walt Disney World Resort. It is also located across the road from the Pointe shopping centre and 21 cinema screens.See more here

3-Star+ Universal Studios Endless Summer Resort, 7nts from €829pp
I had the pleasure of staying at Universal’s Endless Summer Resort last year and loved the benefit of having early park access to Universal Studios. The complimentary shuttle runs from early morning till late at night and takes just five minutes to get to the parks.See more here
3-Star Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista, 7 Nights from €849pp
Located next to Disney Springs, this is the perfect choice if your main objective is to visit Walt Disney World, and enjoy the wide selection of shops and dining options in Disney Springs.
It is a preferred partner hotel of Walt Disney World so you can enjoy a host of benefits including early entrance to the parks and complimentary transport (local reservations required).

TOP TIP: Why not combine a 7 night stay at Universal’s Endless Summer Resort with a 7 Night stay at Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista for the ultimate way to visit Orlando’s theme parks.
2. Relaxed Orlando Holidays
If rollercoasters and waterparks are not your thing, and you only want to visit The Magic Kingdom or the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, then why not book a more relaxed Orlando holiday?
Stay a little further afield and explore Orlando’s theme parks from a distance. There are numerous holiday homes, villas and world class resorts located just 30 minutes drive from the theme park belt.
Most of the attraction tickets to Universal Studios and Walt Disney World have a 14 day validity, so you can visit at your own pace, throughout a two week stay.
5-Star Margaritaville Resort, 7 Nights from €1049
This luxury resort offers spacious rooms and suites in massive landscaped grounds, so although only 30 minutes from Universal Studios and 15 minutes from Walt Disney World, you will feel a million miles away!
You will find lagoon style swimming pools, a luxury Spa, kids club, an entertainment program and a choice of restaurants. There is also a waterpark next door that children will love. The resort also offers complimentary transportation to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios.See more here

Universal Orlando Resort and Clearwater Beach, 10 Nights from €1189pp
