I’ve waived my magic wand to bring you ten mystical Harry Potter themed Airbnbs and hotels to inspire your next vacation.
My children are both Harry Potter fanatics, and if I’m honest, I probably use them as an excuse to watch the movies repeatedly too! I recall a magical visit to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter many years ago, and I can’t wait to bring my children to Universal Studios to show them that it really is worth the hype. While I was researching our next big trip, I found some amazing Harry Potter themed homes in Orlando, but also some great themed homes in France and the UK too, I even managed to find one in Ireland!
All Airbnbs, holiday homes and hotels are highly recommended from previous guests, so you can expect a truly magical experience. And, in case you had any doubts – Muggles are welcome in all homes!

1. Harry Potter themed Airbnb in Colmar, France
This Harry Potter themed accommodation is located in a gîte in Colmar, France. The two rooms are beautifully decorated in true Harry Potter style, and you will find an honest bar with Butter Beers and sweets, as well as a free tea and coffee corner.
Not only will you find the accommodation magical, but Colmar is one of those enchanting French villages that will take your breath away. Its fairytale like appearance was thought to be the inspiration for Beauty and the Beast, and the area known as La petite Venice (Little Venice) is packed with colourful houses along both sides of the canal.
Colmar is located in the Alsace region of France, close to the the border between France and Germany, with Basel being the closest airport. This Sorcerer’s Cottage is located just five minutes walk from Little Venice and the historic centre of Colmar.
2. Harry Potter themed Wizard Chambers at Georgian House Hotel, London
Concealed in the lower ground floor of the 19th-century Georgian House Hotel is a Wizard Chamber, with a choice of rooms for couples and families. As you pass through a candlelit passageway you will start to feel the magic of this gothic Harry Potter themed accommodation. With stained-glass windows, cauldrons, tapestries and individually designed rooms, this has all the magic of Harry Potter with the advantages of a four-star hotel.

3. West Bow – The Edinburgh Wizarding Residence on Grassmarket
Many Harry Potter fans may know that The Grassmarket in Edinburgh is thought to have been J K Rowlings inspiration for Diagon Alley. This bright modern apartment is located here, in the heart of Edinburghs old town. Edinburgh Castle, The Royal Mile and Princes Street are all close by, as is the Elephant House coffee shop where JK Rowling wrote many of her books.
The main room is decorated with antique wallpaper, a grand chandelier and Hogwarts Express luggage, while the bedroom takes inspiration from Hagrids Hut and the womping willow. The bathroom is also Harry Potter themed – it has a vault-style door and a floor made of money, resembling Gringotts Bank.
4. Wizards Way, 8-bedroom Harry Potter themed holiday home, Orlando, Florida
If going to Orlando wasn’t enough to excite Harry Potter fans, this dream home surely will. The decor and attention to detail is outstanding – just take a look at these images! Professionally decorated you will see custom-carved beds, mood lighting, a private cinema room set in a Forbidden Forest, and a Great Hall for you to enjoy the ultimate feast.
As well as its incredible decor, this Harry Potter themed home boasts a private heated pool, and as it is located on the grounds of the Champions Gate Resort – you have access to their water park with lazy river, games room and golf course.
5. Harry’s House, close to Harry Potter Experience, London
This Harry Potter themed accommodation is an ideal choice if you are visiting the Warner Bros. studio tour in London. Located just 15 minutes drive from the attraction, and five minutes walk from Watford town centre, there are plenty of amenities close by.
The two-bedroom house has a Gryffindor common roo, as well as flexible sleeping arrangements – there is a double room, room with bunk beds and a sofa bed in the lounge. The hosts can also arrange a special birthday package if required – see here.
6. Draiocht (Magic) House in Roscommon, Ireland
If you are lookng for a Harry Potter themed house in Ireland, Draiocht House might do the trick. Each of the four bedrooms are individually decorated, and there are wonderful touches all over the house. The large garden has a fabulous tree house and a barbecue decking area. Draiocht is gaelic for ‘magic’ and a magical time awaits you in Boyle.
Draiocht House is less than five minutes walk to the town centre of Boyle, and Lough Key Forest and Activity Park is only 4km away. Lough Key is one of Ireland’s most extensive forest parks. As well as scenic walks and pleasure cruises on the lake, you will find plenty of activities for adventure play including ziplines, woodland safaris and lots more.
7. Ground Keepers Cottage – Hagrids Hut, at North Shire Family Accommodation, England
This family oriented holiday site is beautifully located in Saltburn-by-the-Sea in the east coast of England. There is a wide choice of accommodation to choose from including Hobbit houses and Gypsy caravans, but Harry Potter fans will love the Ground Keepers Cottage – aka Hagrid’s Hut.
The cottage has three interlocking circular rooms, with turrets and mismatched stained-glass windows, and it can accommodate up to six people. North Shire has various farm animals on site which kids will love, and there are many beaches nearby to explore.
8. Wizarding Home, 10 miles from Universal Studios, Orlando
This Harry Potter themed home is superbly located close to Orlando’s theme parks, including the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios. There is a private swimming pool, an outdoor patio with barbecue, and five themed bedrooms – four decorated to represent a different house, and the fifth representing the Headmaster’s Office.
The dining room is also inspired by Harry Potter and has a long solid wooden table with a chandelier overhead. There are many more subtle touches throughout the house.
9. A Magical World of Wizards & Witches in Tagaytay, Philippines
How amazing is this Harry Potter themed apartment in the Philippines? Every corner has been carefully decorated, the attention to detail is superb. It was professionally renovated with many materials imported from Warner Brothers and Universal Studios. The apartment can sleep up to five people so it is ideal for a family stay.
This home is located in the Tagaytay Prime Residences and there is a communal swimming pool available for guests. This home is equipped with all mod cons including a 43″ smart TV with Netflix and free WiFi. There are many top attractions close by including Sky Ranch theme park, Paradizoo and the People’s Park in the Sky.
10. The best holiday home for kids in Orlando, Florida
If you have a wizard as well as a princess at home, and need to mix Harry Potter with Cinderdella, then this might be the home for you. This is probably one of the best homes in Orlando for kids. Not only is it located less than 10 minutes from the Disney parks, but all your kids super heroes are showcased here.
There are bedrooms dedicated to many Disney princesses, (Elsa, Belle, Moana, Snow White, Rapunzel ), a separate area for Cinderella, as well as a dressing room with Rapunzel gowns sized infant to adult!
There are other themed rooms including Pirates of the Caribbean and two Harry Potter themed rooms, including the Knight Bus at Diagon Alley bunked room. Star Wars fans are not overlooked, they will love the 3D Star Wars cinema room, complete with Playstation 4 and XBOX Kinect, and lots of dress-up play, light sabres etc.
The kids kitchenware is Disney themed and there are Disney waffle irons, you can even have Star Wars imprinted on your toast for breakfast, and waffles of Princesses, Mickey Mouse, or Star Wars!
Parents are also spoilt with the always-heated spillover spa and pool, chaise lounge chairs, and outdoor dining area with barbecue. The hosts really have thought of everything to make this the ultimate themed home in Orlando.
